Sooooo. This was a track I was working on for the Paths Less Travelled II album, but seeing as that is now dead and buried I thought I'd polish it a little and use it for this anniversary round. It uses 2 sources; Collosia chamber 1 and Collosia Chamber 2, both from Secret of Evermore.

 

The track isn't exactly finished. The ending is repetitive and the middle section could probably be parred back a fair bit, but I'm sick of messing around with it now so I present it in this final form.

I only really liked a short melody at the end of the track, so I've looped it and tried to build something around that. 

I upped the tempo to 160 and went for a speedy metal track. The bass track has been copied and had a rhythm guitar added in. I copied the dualing voices and applied to them to some cymbal work to give some variation. Hope y'all like it!

I made my computer very unhappy making this. There are so many threads of voices and effects that my PC locked up and made the fans run very hot for about half an hour while rendering it. I quite like the end result though.

So... this is pretty much unrecognisable as the original source, as I slowed it down, changed the key and only used about 4 seconds of part of the riff. But I promise it is from the source! Honest!

I went for the Final Fantasy Mystic Quest - Final Castle source. Using the extra week I've gone back and tweaked a few things and added an ending, though I'm not overly happy with it.

As you can tell from the title, this is a super serious song that I spent a lot of time on (less than 3 hours, all told). But you gotta get a track submitted for the 400th round, right? [REUPLOADED]

This was a lot of fun. I really love this source.

As I dust the... dust off my DAW and consider what I want to make I realise; I'm actually quite drunk. So here's a thing! Enjoy!

Has more to do with an oceanic theme really, but that's water, right? Imagine diving further and further down into the depths, your spotlight highlighting sunken wrecks and fantastic sea life. This might be the soundtrack to that adventure.

Experimenting with humanizing piano parts here. It's a bit more interpretive that I would normally enter for MnP.

A simple yet complicated source! Fun was had.

I didn't get along too well with this source and ended up cutting away most of it as I didn't really know what to do with it. Still; it's all more practice!

It's been slapped together quite quickly but I quite like how this turned out.

Over-ambition + lack of time = this. It was fun though!

I started off ambient, then decided I needed something with a beat. In the end I tried mixing the two...

A very quickly put together ambient piece. Get's a bit monotonous by the end so apologies for that!

I enjoyed playing with this one, it was quite therapeutic.

Well this has got to be the quickest I've ever gotten an entry in! Hopefully it doesn't show :)

I think this is first time I've actually enjoyed working with a Mega Man source.

I had an original piece lined up to submit but I wasn't happy with it in the end. Instead here's an semi-midi-rip of Sadness from Super Paper Mario. It's not great but it's something :)

While it was indeed a funky source; I thought it suited the orchestral treatment as well.

Not finished by any means (lacking percussion, levels are way off) but I won't have time to work on this before the due date so here it is.

This was fun fun FUN! Keeping with my current trend of drum and bass/dubstep style tracks.

Could finish this due to laptop issues. Got a good WIP out of it at least.

Always fun to mess with the classics :) This was originally going to be a D&B track but I felt it sounded better without the drums.

Re-upped a slightly different version as I was unhappy with the previous one.

This was indeed a funky source.

As soon as I heard the clarinet section of this I immediately thought that it would lend itself well to a lead guitar sound. As I'm currently without a guitar I've used a vst, hopefully it doesn't too bad!

I love the source tune but sadly I don't think I've done it justice.

This isn't nearly as epic as I was hoping for, but it's nice to get something submitted.

There's probably a lot I could do to try and make this sound better but time is not on my side. Strings and drums!

More of an experiment into the world of drum n' bass than anything else but I don't think it turned out TOO badly.

Didn't quite to where I wanted to with this one, it was still fun as all hell though!

This source was great fun to work with. It only occurred to me after I had finished that this is the first time I've done a proper slow song, I might have to try my hand at it again in future.

I didn't want hoboka's submission to be lonely, so I knocked this is up in about half and hour. I think it shows.

Spent a week making a track, finally finished it and listened to it back, realised that it was overblown rubbish, whacked out this effort in an hour. *sigh*

Not my best work by a mile, but it was fun trying to bash this thing out as quickly as possbile.

Meh, this isn't really finished but I have no time left. Still; and entry is an entry!

This didn't turn out nearly as well as I'd hoped, but I still had a lot of fun with it.
