Esperado - I like the built-up of this one. It definitely has a good mix of instruments.
Hoboka - The source is used very well. I especially like the part before 1:46, hoewer the switch after that is a bit strange and abrupt. The part after that is different, but a good addition.
OneUp - This song is different compared to the other two, but this style also worked quite well. Those funny vocals are a really nice addition.

hoboka: Nice soundscape and transitions, good synth work . It's a little too close to the source for me though.

I love you're idea of a cover compo btw, I hope I have time to participate!

esperado: Wow, this is great. It keeps on getting interesting throughout the whole track. Every new synth addition blends in well and it never gets messy.

I'm not really good at explaining why I like them. I just do.

oneup- nice intro! this kinda reminds me of groove armada or something. that brass sounds a bit cheesy though, like it needs more punchiness to it. otherwise, i like the style of this!

hoboka- the rhythm of your melody throws me off. but that could just be the midi. it did that for me too. i do think that tempo increase would really ramp up this track. it seems just a bit sparse for the tempo. also that change to piano at the end felt like a new song coming in afterward.

Drop Those Funky Tears - Yes, the Funk is strong in this one. The organ in this one is used to great effect and the vocal sample works really well. I don't have any real critique with this one.

Casino Tears - From the first note my thoughts went straight to the Street of Rage 2 soundtrack :) The intensity does a good job of bilding but ultimately doesn't get chance to go anywhere, but as you said this is a work in progress ;)

Fickle as Water - Each sesction is well put together and the instruments used sounds great, however for me the track didn't have much energy which is a shame as this is really well produced.

Fickle - Doesn't really fit my taste, but the style changes kept it somewhat interesting to me so there is a plus.

Drop - It is funky, but a bit repetitive. That said, of the three it held my interest the most. Not sure if it was the music itself of the odd voice samples.

Casino - Sounded similar to Fickle to me, but I liked the sound palette a bit better.

Ouch that was hard decision. But it comes down to this, especially the choice between 2 and 3 was evil:

1. hoboka: The first part sounds like my WIP of this track, so one up for this, and as soon as it becomes more liberal, it was a really fun track to listen. I didn't like the transition to the piano part, but that's a minor thing.

2. OneUp: Damn that was a really funny take on the source. Especially with the speech samples. But I didn't like it as much as I liked hoboka's entry. But it was close.

3. esperado: I liked the direction of it. Unfortunately it was a bit too short, but please, continue working on it, it could become really great

Very tough call. I switched around my votes more than once. Love this source, by the way
