honorable mentions:
koekepan - PINGAS - not bad man. Stacked against the rest though, it's like trying to swim upstream. I know the feeling - we're among giants here lol.
Sci - Great pitch bending lead, it's sexy man.
Random - Storyteller - great vocals as usual, bit short, but it is for only an hour so yeah.
GreyHooves - dat medeival-ness trills.
Hallow - great concept, but it's a bit too undeveloped for me.
TestUser - Not really fitting to the theme, but it's a cool 4 on a Floor trance-mix. Can't complain there.
MisaelK - honestly, tied for 3rd place for me with johnfm, but his swept me away a bit more lol. Nevertheless this is an awesome soundscape!
oaphin - neat piano solo, I can tell a lot of effort went into this. Nice!

apologies to those I missed. It was a great round all-around! Kinda makes me feel disrespectful for putting in minimal effort and being a hackneyed whack here. Next time I participate I will put in 110%

Koekepan: I really like this one, nice sounds, relaxing vibes, and nailed the theme

johnfn: great instrumentation choices and the production was excellent

Hallow: So chill. The ending was a little high energy, but it was still very nice

LunacyEcho - Nice gentle beat and melody. For some reason I'm reminded of the Ristar soundtrack.

ophanin - I love a solo piano piece. I think I get what you're going for with the theme, drops of water tinkling down. Very well executed.

hoboka - Ah, we meet again Mr Hobo! I'm loving the funkiness of this, however I can't really see the water connection here.

A-zu-ra - I really like this, gives the impression of a 16-bit RPG level which centres around a river.

Koekepan - Very gentle and understated take on the theme. Has the feel of descending towards an underwater city, thousands of tiny multicoloured lights twinkling in the watery darkness.

sci - A cool beat and melody, sadly not getting the water connection though.

Arcana - I really like this. Feels like being adrift in a rough sea, occasionally picking up a radio signal from a far off station, the signal varying in strength before the listener is washed up on the shore and the water recedes.

johnfn - A more melancholy take, possibly an introspective walk along the beach at sunset. The pain of unrequited affection.

Misael.K - I like the concept behind this, the anxious tone followed by the feeling of triumph as the plunge down the waterfall is over and the listener finds themselves still alive.

TestUser472 - As a progressive house track this is really, really good. As a watery concept not so much, unfortunately.

coral - I'm not sure what I was expecting. You mentioned a pond and a shower, so I guess that covers the water theme, yeah? XD

Hallow - Loving the very chilled intro leading into the main melody. I can see someone dancing in the rain to this, maybe a dance party during a Summer cloudburst.

Random-storykeeper - I love the melody on the solo piano, sadly though everthing gets a bit cluttered when the other instruments and vocals come in. Massive props for creating lyrics in such a short time though, very impressive.

GreyHooves - I can see a fire-dance at the edge of lake, the flame reflecting off of the still water as it flashes by. The kettle drums are an excellent choice for this, somehow restrained and intense at the same time.

I hate it when voting is hard. Oh, who am I kidding; I love it when voting is hard. :P And picking a top 3 was definitely not easy this week. But here are my votes:

1) "As my Consciousness slips away" - Mmm...this is so peaceful. It flows so beautifully. I love this take on the feeling of submersion. It's just a solid track as a whole, and I feel the water in this thoroughly and it's so pleasant...oh no wait I'm supposed to be drowning help help-

2) "Babbling Brook" - Perhaps a little *too* on the nose with the water sounds, but the composition itself is fantastic. I love those repeating chords and how the melody kind of feels like it dances around the repetitions. Overall a very pleasant listen, albeit with a tad too much unnecessary ambient noise. :P

3) "Waterfalling" - I love your take on this theme, and your entry reflects your description so well. I do kind of wish those opening notes had some legato in them rather than being completely disjointed from each other. The key change in the piece was something I didn't even notice until I replayed.

RSK - favorite composition of the week, I love simple tracks that heavily lean on arpeggios. could use more reverb especially with the water theme I feel like it's required lol

johnfn - dat detune, love the relaxed atmosphere

Trism - whaaaaaales
