The instrumentation choices on Mushroom Kingdom Sleighride made for an excellent take of this track, making it stand out the most for me as well as being a significant improvement over the source IMO.

Edge of the Dream was a cool take on a source that I'm quite familiar with. I really enjoyed listening to that one, had a good groove to it that fit well

From the Machine I enjoyed quite a bit. TG gave the source a nice little kick of adrenaline with his mix, which I thought worked well for the piece

9 Songs, great work everyone.

CN - I really liked the vocals, they fit very well in this song.
DZ Composer - Nice mix of instruments, they add up to a good combination.
Esperado - I liked the background sampling of this one.
Evktalo - Back to PRC140. The drums are a little too dominant here, but the other samples worked well.
Mirby - I really enjoyed this style. Simple, but attractive, especially in the middle part.
Sadorf - Welcome back. This song reminds me to many others you did earlier for this contest (and others like ORC). It's full of energy and has a nice balance between everything what's in. The end is abrupt, but that's probably because you were not able to finish it.
Toilet Goat - The song has many good samples, the main samples were the best of it. It could require more variation.
Xsquader - Nice original production, a little more variation between the used samples could make it even more awesome.
HoboKa - The fact that this is a bonus tracks makes it (a little) less difficult for me to vote. The built-up of this song is excellent.

I can only vote for three tracks, which make it difficult because all of them deserve points.

Blue Lady:
I can't really explain why I liked this one the most, but I did. As stated, it is a tiny bit rough around the edges, but not bad. The biggest complaints I have are that it is slightly repetitive and it needs a real ending.

Edge of the Dream:
This is the kind of electronic music I can listen to. It has clear direction and feels more based on melody than beat. I thought it was a nice work, though it does get a little repetitive towards the end.

World 3:
My first foray into video games was an old MS DOS computer. While I do not know what "World-3" the submitter worked with, the whole thing reminds me of the music from old DOS games, but with a hint of 8-bit console. The nostalgia trip made me want to place this one.

---
Assassin:
Some pitch issues are present, and there is some clipping in a couple of places. I like the source, though, so this is my honorable mention.

Others:
(edited)
Now, none of the others are terrible, I admit that taste played a large role in my votes today.

1st - DZComposer - Pretty song and all the instruments sounds like they're done really carefully with fades and stuff like that. Good work!

2nd - Sadorf - Trance/techno YES! The patterns are like from some 90's technopop songs :D

3rd - esperado - Nice chill and sid stylish music. Me likes :)

rest:

evktalo - Good vibes and good playing
hoboka - Breaks sounds fun :)
Mirby - I think the main leads are nice but there's still something a bit missing. Good work though
Xsquader - Funky song, though I'd like the main high lead to be a bit different :)
CN - Nice and unique vocalization, though I disliked that it distorted at some points when ending was nearer. Very cool song though.

Esperado, esperado, esperado, you have outdone yourself. I thought it was beautiful. Very clean, don't hear any clashing going on in the mix, everything for the most part has it's place. The bassline at the end gets kind of wonky IMO but the overall track more than makes up for that plus it's not that bad just pretty much the only thing I noticed to comment on. Good job. Good choice as well.

Next, Sadorf. I have remixed this track in the past myself as well. It's on my soundcloud. So obviously I believe it was a good choice but that aside it is a very clean mix, having heard the original and a midi version, I like the job done to prevent clashing between instruments. I think this is something many musicians don't consider enough, mixing and mastering. It makes a world of difference. I also like the way the transitions are done. Good job.

Last but not least, toilet goat. Chose a deus ex track, wonderful. Interesting take on the synapse track, mixing, and mastering is relatively clean, always a fan. You said you didn't get the middle part to work, but if you are referencing the transition that is actually my favorite part, I love it. Good job. I also like the choice of synths and the variety of sounds from across the board. Not just one specific type of sound. Excellent work.

What a rough time I had figuring out the top submissions here, but these are what first struck something with me:

First Place - For the short length of time your track spanned, I was thoroughly enjoyed. The samples pushed me to the vote at first, but certainly the ways in which you meshed everything together weighed in most of my decision. ...And I suppose I like orchestrated sections regardless!

Second Place - A very simple response: I have no idea what you were talking about! It sounds like a full-fledged track to me, and I do have a huge bias towards the brushing sounds of a jazz groove. Your track was very much neck-in-neck for First Place, and it was very hard to figure out which one!

Third Place - Considering this piece has been slapped around like no tomorrow, I happened to like your laid back and partly 8-bit rendition of it. The pace was slow and nice, yet there was plenty of variation in there.

Was so close to voting From the Machine for first, but I'm a sucker for anything Dream of the Shore Bordering Another World. Seriously remix that well and I'm in love.

And sadorf because his was pretty groove. Now he can be gladorf.

Well, they're all actually well-made - so it fell down to subjectivity (for the most part)

DZComposer got 1st place cuz he MnP'd it REALLY Well, so he gets top-notch in my books >:3

esperado - Very catchy and chill tune that sounds kinda like a hybrid of Star Selzman and sephfire.

CN - gotta give ya credit for doing vocals, it takes plentiful balls to put yourself out there in a medium that can be VERY subjective...I'm terrified of aural sight-singing personally and can only sing when I'm sort of drunk - at least I can PRETEND that I can sing. So good stuff :3
