MvC 2 - Character Select (MnP73)

Dex - Cool rock adaptation with jiving rock-organs and all the other works, I liked. It was tied with APZX's entry essentially, but unfortunately I can't make you BOTH 2nd place, so I made the call and chose "Ride of your life" as 2nd. Loved the brass - kicking it into double time ALMOST made this not MnP, but I'll forgive it this time, as I like having the mood and pacing retained, but ehhh, it's cool.
APZX - Certainly the best mixed and produced of all 3, but the soundscape wasn't quite clicking like Dex's and Starpheonix's for me, really this comes down to subjectivity sadly. "Singling out the Impersonator" is in and of itself a very well balanced and well produced track - I could be wildly off base, as this track certainly has a good shot at being 1st place.

For APZX's entry I liked the added melodies and the flow of the arrangement, although some of the instruments used sounded a little harsh to me.
For Starphoenix's arrangement I liked the turntable usage, vocals, breaks, and overall chill vibe. The light xylophone(ish?) instrument was a nice touch. I know you didn't have a lot of time to work on it, but it would have been nice to have a more coherent ending.

Dex - Using a lead guitar for the vocal line is an excellent idea and it works very well for the first section, however when the second section kicks in it could have used a tone change to match the new 'genre', same goes for the third. Overall though I enjoyed the energy of this one.
Starphoenix - Ooooh scratching samples! Always a welcome addition to a mix. Playing pretty fast and loose with the source material here, remember this is MnP and not PRC. A nice take on the piece overall though.
