Colors of Square

The square texture explores the timbral colors of the pulse wave, and the lyrical square above wants to sing all about it. Sing with all the colors of the Square!

First piece of music from me 2014 - great source, and a lot of fun to do. Hopefully people don't mind the conservative approach to this one, but hey - MnP is all about that, so it should be perfectly fine. :)

Universal 8-bit Crush

posted in OHC200 on Aug 09, 2012
The Nintendo Rebellion is blocking my path to a rift that will open up their world into the real one, not knowing that they will rip apart the very fabric of their existence in the process. I must get to the device before this universe is crushed!

For the existence of everything 8-bit, I will stop that device!

Felix Feels Funky

Requested by ... I honestly forgot, sorry

Alright, so I held this off until the last day, forgive me. At least I got to spend a good eight hours on it with a new set of speakers, and the quality of the track shows this. I really didn't know what I was going to do with this source, but once I started the funky bassline + drumline everything fell into place perfectly.

Have fun listening to this 9-bit chiptune wankfest. It's fun while it lasts.

Wily Hits Hard(style)

Entering this compo, I decided to try my hand at a more 'hardstyle' approach. Not sure if it's 'hard' enough for that style, but it came out pretty damn epic, anyway.

Pure and Simple

posted in ORC139 on Mar 20, 2011
The Mana-esque textures and sweet melodies got me to write something in mostly sines and squares. Because, you know, they're pure and... uh, simple. And pretty.

Yeah, it's pretty. Enjoy!

Axiom Rangers

posted in ORC136 on Nov 21, 2010
It sort of reminds me of one of those old TV shows with a group of five people (why was it always five?) that had the power to unite and defeat their foes with ninja moves.

Thus, I made an intro song out of it. Go Axiom Rangers, go!

I'm not going to lie, I had some difficulty with this one. After about... 5 false starts, I came up with a trance/chip combo (with a hint of orchestra). May the god of this world send electronic death to the demons that afflict it!

It's awesome.

Fruit of Reason

From FL to Reason 3.0, baby! It even uses the true 5-6 descending chromatic sequence; eat that, minor dominant 6 3!

Alright, just listen to it - it's smooth.

If all was Wright in Chicago

posted in FBRC2009 on Aug 21, 2009
A combination of 'Gumshoe's Theme' in Phoenix Wright and 'Chicago - Stealth' from Perfect Dark. Strangely enough, I wasn't planning on combining the two, but the name popped into my head, and I knew it had to be done. Enjoy the result!

By the way, the genre for this is 'Tech-Noir', as making up genres is badass :)

Eruigi and I decided to have some fun with this one - he does the main vocals and lyrics while I did the arrangement and backup vocals.

Woot, singing ftw!

Lyrics - Communicate

Verse 1
Language is for communicating
told in different ways
Expressions for relating
reaching out to one another

Supporting our needs
for connection
To stop this natural process
would be to stop the world

So Connect
don't hold back
you got the chops
you can communicate
to an individual's

Verse 2
Broken down
is the world of the voiceless
If one understands
mediation would transgress

hardened hearts like dirty gold
can be melted in a crucible
Loving words that can be told
making all that hear well off and
Oh... So... Dear...
(Communicate... Communicate...)

Language is for communicating
told in different ways
Expressions for relating
reaching out to one another

So connect
don't hold back
you got the chops
You can communicate
to an individual's

Outer Space, Outta Time!

posted in OHC042 on Jul 02, 2009
Something epic is happening in outer space between your space armada and my space fortress... more than my music portrays, but I ran outta time (and so did you - 'cause I'ma firin' mah LAZAR!!)

Hopefully the strings won't make your ears bleed too much (but if they do then I laugh at your pain while I destroy your space fleet! HAHA! I WILL CRUSH YOU!).

Makin' Do

A minimalist song (three instruments and a drum set - no effects other than reverb), it nonetheless captures a very soothing atmosphere.

God, I love the Vibraphone.

The Miracle

In the recesses of time and space, a great artifact is activated to grant all desire to the benign hero.

All he wanted was a miracle.

Fire in Space!

posted in OHC026 on Mar 12, 2009
There's a fire in the spaceship! Somebody's gotta put it out quickly, or else!

In space, no one can hear you burn...

...Ya, I know; Fires can't happen in space...

Unite against a Common Foe!

posted in ORC117 on Mar 10, 2009
Two armies prepare for a great battle, rallying their banners and sharpening their blades. They charge at each other, not knowing of the greater threat that lies beyond the horizon. The new enemy charges into the battle, and only by uniting do the former foes have a chance against this common foe!

May victory be theirs!

Magma Palace

Well, since it's a free-for-all, I'll give you this.

It's old, but my program's screwing up, so I can't do much today :(

It's a sort of mash-up of Ocean Palace, Gaint of Babil, and some of my own stuff... It's midi, but it's still alright.
