I've been challenged by The Mac Attack to remix "In the Clouds" from King's Quest VII, a game I played when I was young, and it brought back a lot of memories to me (especially the horrible Boogey-Man!).

So I decided to do something completely opposite to the source. Instead of making something clean and heaven-like, I made a loud, dark electro piece. Enjoy!

I was challenged to remix Cromlech Court from Blast Corps 64. I meant to flesh this out a lot more, but then school started and I'm super lazy. I'll get around to it someday, cause the source is pretty damn cool.

With Besaid being the starting point for Tidus's journey to the ruins of Zanarkand, it can be seen as a place to re-adjust after being taken far away from home, and one to start getting used to what would be several comrades along the way. So I thought I'd go for something casually adventurous in approach, while at the same time towing in a natural soundscape to fit what is essentially an island retreat in nature.

Not all journeys go off to the best start, true. But no matter what you still have to put in as much effort as you can :)

So I was challenged to do The Boundless Ocean from FF3. Since I was working on an ocean themed album this summer it was actually an amazing coincidence. Overall I feel my mix is a bit short, but I was kind of happy with how it turned out considering I didn't have a lot of time to work on it.

this is my track. i have never played Smash TV before, so i don't know anything about the game, but i thought the track turned out pretty decent. the original track is called 'Circuit 1'.

the name comes from how i did the solo - i basically facerolled on my keyboard, and then put it in the right key.

clocked in at just over 2:15 for total time to completion. faster than last year =)

The Army had me away for a bit, but I got back in time to at least get started. Obviously, this WIP has some pretty undeveloped ideas and production issues --and just trails off without an ending :/ -- but I'm particularly happy with the first 45 seconds. Enjoy what's here, and look for a finished version at Tindeck or OCR Forums within the next few weeks.

First was going to do an orchestra with a string quartet playing against it, but then decided I wanted a bass synth in there somewhere and scrapped the orchestra entirely, ending up with a kind of bizarre fusion of synths and string quartet. The synth solos were done with a Korg Monotron. Strings are VSL -- the automation programming isn't as polished as I'd like, though, because Sonar kept crashing.

The title is a pun on the word "arco," a string bowing technique, and "Ark," the name of Terranigma's protagonist.

Alright, so I held this off until the last day, forgive me. At least I got to spend a good eight hours on it with a new set of speakers, and the quality of the track shows this. I really didn't know what I was going to do with this source, but once I started the funky bassline + drumline everything fell into place perfectly.

Have fun listening to this 9-bit chiptune wankfest. It's fun while it lasts.
