Just64Helpin (which I would like to refer to J64H from now on, if that's ok) made this great exploring & adventure song, that made me think instantly of Shadow of the Colossus...well with the horse part & all. ;-)
That spanish guitar covering was crazy (I love spanish guitar by the way...but sadly I don't have any) ), and the renditon was nice overall.
My main concern here is Ceal's entry. I can't figure out if the whole midi+copypasted beat+irregular sawbass was done on purpose or not. You know, like the minimal productions you hear from times to times.
So Ceal's entry goes to 3rd place for me.

Gario - 4:08 Again :) . Good start, I like the string. The way you get to the source is good and the song is variating much, but it is long. It could have done well for a CMC contest as well.
DjMokram - Nice start. The song is too calm, but there's enough variation. I like the ending.
Just64helpin - Interesting genre. The intro fits very nice. The background doesn't change much, and not much happends in the middle.

I noticed that the beat in parts of Ceal's song was out of sync with the music. Was that an error or was it done on purpose? Because it kind of upset the flow of the song.

Even though this gets too 'Hollywood' for my tastes (lydian inflection lol), Gario elicits the most elaborate variations on the source material with nice contrast; the climaxes and the drop-offs are fitting, the counter-melodies don't get in the way and the harmony does not disappoint.

This is technically inferior do DjMokram's contribution, but I want to acknowledge it because it is a completely unexpected take on the source material and while it does lack polish, it resembles an execution of confidence. An entertaining offering.

This one has some of the better production values; the orchestra isn't buried like in Gario's nor is the sequencing as rigid as just64helpin's. As an arrangement it's not as strong or as unique as my 1st and 2nd place picks, respectively. Overall a decent contribution, hope you continue to compete in the future.

Normally I'm against voting on a contest that I'm participating, as I will probably vote myself first.
1st - Gario
Like I said, I'll vote myself first if I'm in the contest, and I'm being honest, not arrogant. I feel my entry was the best this round.
2nd - DjMokram
I liked the clean sullen sound you've got there, Dj. It sounds subtle, like the preparation to an event rather than the event itself. Very nice.
3rd - just64helpin
I don't need to say why this is the close runner. Very clever, very nice. I just like the sound of Dj's song more, in this case.
Note: If I'm not allowed to vote for myself, then just knock me out and place everyone else up one place (Ceal would be 3rd, in that case). The voting system is different here than in PMing so I don't know what should be voted for or not.
