I am... was a very different entry, stylistically. It made good use of the source material, and had a nice groove to it. Nice solo part.

I am Willrock, was very original, and the instrumentation used was nice.

Gario, had a good vocal delivery, and the lyrics were a very original addition to the song and they worked rather well. It could have had a stronger chorus though.

No voting for ourselves... damn. J/k - actually, this was an incredibly good round - everyone really has an equal shot this time (making this very difficult to vote :P).

Well, we need to vote, so here we go...

1. ProtoDome
I can really feel the original oozing from this song, yet it's also energetic and exciting, and it never seemed to ever get boring. I can't say anything against this one (the chip drums were amazing, by the way).

2. Setokaibarocket
Sorry, buddy - when I heard your song I thought 'Wow, he got my first place vote again!', until I heard ProtoDome's song. Very different approach to the source - I didn't expect that, at all. I love the instruments you used throughout (especially that square in the background - almost tempted to vote you first for that, right now). Unfortunately, it seems a bit long, considering it's an ambient piece (and therefore a bit repetitive by design). Not your fault, I guess. Nice work.

3. Willrock
Your song was solid work, as usual, but there didn't seem to be anything that really stood out in it. The piano was very well done, though, and the synth solos... well, rocked. I'm beginning to see some, er, similarities in your music - I can tell when you write something. Is that bad? Not necessarily, but I would love to hear something from you that didn't sound like you, you know what I mean? Good track, though!

4. Divinewrath
Nice, smooth sound you have throughout. The EQ is a bit muddy, but the arrangement is neat. I have a feeling this would have been a winning track for many of the ORCs recently, but it seems that we just had a flux of great submissions this time. Prog rock ftw!

Honorable Mention - Gario & Eruigi
Um... we rock?

Great round, everyone!

Well this is tough... I like the way most tracks ended with a fadeout!!

Divinewrath's mix was pretty good seeing as he recorded it all himself. I dug the solos and the interpretation was kinda cool. The reason I put him above Setokaibarocket was just because Seto's was kinda slow to reach the source and dealt with it rather simplistically. The ending was kinda weak too.

Gario's was cool and the idea was awesome, only the vocals bugged me a lil'. They distorted in places (not the intentional distortion, that was cool), they were a bit muddy in the overall mix and the singer went off key and out of time a lot. I liked the lyrics though and the way the voices interacted later on. I dunno, Divinewraths was just that little bit more enjoyable to listen to so I had to give it to him. It was so close, Ive literally changed my mind just now.

Finally I chose Willrock as the winner because I felt it was most creative. I thought it started a bit weak with a really quite poor piano sample (was that what you were going for?) but then got freakin awesome later on. I liked his treatment of the source and the solo synth and piano chords got me hooked. The instrumentation was also cool as were the alternate harmonies. I felt the samples were a tiny bit weak and the drums couldve had more variation and power, but heck, thats nitpicking.

Anyway, I enjoyed all the tracks actually, it was fun voting!

Nice round guys, it was rather difficult to choose my top three...

willrock07 - Interpreting the song whilst remaining true to the original, this mix came together the best out of all the entries in my opinion. Very catchy and enjoyable, well done =D Can't notice any mixing issues, and I like the guitar at 2:00.

divinewrath - Another mix that's nice and well made, same as willrock07's mix it works well balancing somewhere on the line of interpretation and faithfulness. Ultimately I found willrock07's mix catchier and overall had more fun listening to it, but this is still a very nice mix overall.

ProtoDome: Was very difficult choosing 3rd place, but I eventually awarded it to you; certainly liberal as you said, and rather quirky, but it's enjoyable, and the melodies and harmonies ultimately come together nicely =P

Gario: Nice interesting mix, cool and energetic, unfortunately lost out from 3rd place because the the vocals seems a lot louder than the rest of the mix, the vox are rather cheesy (though that doesn't stop me from listen to a lot of other various techno songs so it's not too much of a minus from me =p) and also sound not too greatly recorded or mastered (i'm guessing the distortion on the vocals around 1:57 is accidental?), though it's certainly a tough task to balance out vocals nicely with a track. 1:34 is cool =P

Divinewrath - Interesting start. The balance is OK. Some parts are too quiet (0:14, 0:33). I like the bassline. There's not much variation.
ProtoDome - Good start. I like the bells. The song is variating enough, I like the chiptunes. I don't like the end.
Willrock - I like the balance of the song, the piano is very good.
Setokaibarocket - The song doesn't start with a lot in it. It takes a while before things are happening it, but the song keeps nice and soft. The song is too long.
Gario - Nice start, funny background samples. The vocals are dominating too much. Not much else happens. The end is long.

@ Divinewrath. I like the song good ideas. Seems a bit conservative, but tbh all my stuff ends up that way and I'd prefer a more conservative piece. Drums can get a bit bland and the piece feels like it drags on in places, I think that's due to the slower speed. This feels like it wants to take off in places; I could really see some double time/half time working out well for some changes. (then again, I've been listening to Dream Theater recently, so...) That being said, still very good and fun to listen to.

@ Protodome. This reminds me of a happy go nutty thing. Very neat with the bent sounding lead synths. I always want more bass :-) I would have liked to hear the ideas develop a little bit more longer before the changes which happen kinda fast. Still a great mix, you guys with you're bajillion tracks and effects :-P I seem to have a hard time keeping 3 things straight. I'll work on that whole rub belly pat head at same time thing though. Dun worry.

@ Willrock07. I like the piano in the beginning, it makes for a nice intro. It gets a repetitive by the end but not too bad. I'd have like to have heard it cut out here and there. Great solos, great solos everywhere. Things that made me smile and go 'Why didn't I think of that?' The sounds you've got have a great synergy and soundscape, near seamless transitions between them, so this is very pleasant to listen to, over and over and over an....

@ setokaibarocket. Neat intro, This has got a real solid groove to it that you really nod to. The leads can sound a little bit weak in places; not really sure what I'd want from them though, maybe echo. Also, I realize that that synth is dancing in the bass ranges; I'd figure that'd let you play with the real bass, which is a bit static for me. Anyways, great to listen to even if a bit on the long side.

@ gario. Props for vocals, I can't sing. I just barly sequence :-P Now it's tough love time -_- I'm not a fan of the vocals. This is my preference. The backup vocals sound forced at times, also the bad mic quality comes through in places. The vocals could really use some fattening instead of that sort of huge reverb you have on them. (2/3 vocal tracks with slight panning and delay differences. It's similar to what you hear in hop-hop music) It just didn't mix well with the song as it was.

Thanks to everyone who participated, voting was hard! It's safe to say I loved them all, and choosing a few, THEN having to put them in order is hard. 0.o

It was tough this time around. All the entries were really good. But, in the end, I picked willrock07's for first place, ProtoDome's for second, and divinewrath's for third.

Nice job on the remixes guys was a tricky one :D

divinewrath - I liked the arragement, not the mixing, also, I think the guitars were a tad out of tune. However, i liked the prog influece and the solos were cool. Good stuff, nice effort :D

ProtoDome - the name for your mix is weird. However its awesome so i'm willing to overlook this lol :D
I'm liking the sequencing, you seem to be more creative than some with your leads. The arpeggio's were awesome as well, nice soundscape at the end, reminded me of your breakdown in your tetris remix that for some reason plays alot on my itunes on shuffle :D Nice work man

setokaibarocket - I hate these things because this wasn't bad, I hate voting people last :( Ok I didn't like the drum kit you used, that bass drum irritated me a little. Also, I thought it was too long and got boring as a result for me. However, It did have a nice atmospheric sound and I liked some of the synth sounds :P well done :D

Gario - you get thumbs up for effort from me - collabs are cool.
I really didn't like that intro synth altho it was gone quickly which was good, and it was replaced by the cool rhythmic trance synth which I liked.
lots of effects processing on various things I noticed.
Reminded me a little of a-ha.

And nice job on the source hewhoisiam - it was a good one and fun to remix.
