in a liminal space
stuck in the "between"
awaiting my fate
got my heart on a plate
against my palms
insurmountable weight
it's my soul against a feather
wish i could've done much better
but i gave in to temptation
and ignored my obligations
now i leave it to the judge and jury
hope that i escape their fury
and the scale will show me mercy
the scale will show me mercy
Lyrics and Vocals by Camana
would you look at the time
oh the days
and the sand blows away
and its ticking by the hour
like an hourglass, a tower
that stands over me
bring you down to yo knees
oh the pressure is growing
and her legs are show now
the color of her face is changing red
never thought id catch an angel in my bed
like a feather oh you lift me up high
i can deny i play this on rewind|
there's no mistaking
oh my heart is racing
and her legs are shaking oh
call this voodoo, bad news
every time you catch me looking at you the truth
i could never see myself without I'm screwed
the only thing that's going through my head
Open sounds
This track is very simple, mostly involving looped chords and simple melodies, which is especially apparent if you look at the project file, however the emphasis is on the sound, which is both thick, wide and very phaser heavy. I was really stretching a 4 chord sequence into something close to 16 bars, which is then repeated non stop. There is also a nonstop arp and drum loop that is repeated, to keep a groove going. The drums are basically processed with distortion and a textural delay, whilst the arps are conform to a sort of triplet delay to make it very atmospheric and slightly off beat. There is also other arps and chords mostly repeating the same progression but in a different instrument, to build upon a simple idea. Not the most complex, but i rather like this, it's quite cool. Enjoy!
I will follow.

Welcome this bright new day
The summer’s warm
The birds are singing
Call them forth and feel the joy
Call them forth and feel the joy
Joy of a new summer’s day
The wet rains of spring are gone
The flowers now bloom
Forget the dreary cold
Brighten up and come outside
