a bird flying high
a wolf howling in the sky
an hourglass beneath a bearded man
very slowly running out of sand
a vapor trail
a plastic veil
a chimp
a tuft of air
without a care
a blimp
in the distance, the ten o' clock chimes
a realization in the back of my mind
summer's coming to an end
so let's watch some clouds, my friend
wdym being rusty is a thing with ohc??
fadeout edit
Mouse started dying halfway through, and my sisters gecko went on the run at last minute. Hope this makes it in time!
with some random lyrics
I need to learn to make better use of my time
after seeing a bird one once again it is time to make the heaviest thing I can
lyrics:
Look into the sky and hear his laughter
I'm ascending high. Living happily ever after.
The waves the voices.
Deceased brought to life.
Into heaven I see.
Why am I sinking?
Why am I sinking?
Why am I sinking?
Why am I sinking?
Oh no.
When I started I didn't expect it to get this dark.
I sampled this song I just released this other day and kind of beat juggled and FX'd the crap out of it to get something different. Kind of a proof of concept for a potential beat juggling performance.
Go wild. There are no limits.
(I made two references to two different movies/tv shows in this.
Started a little early, but still used less than an hour.
Forgive any careless mistakes, I am very sleepy
What we have is an experiment in 3 different ostinatos played at 3 different tempo's. The first is 140bpm, the 2nd is 165bpm and the 3rd is 108bpm. Each comes with it's own ostinato manually bounced into 3 files which are then looped continuously from start to finish. The idea is that you are getting essentially a very floaty, dreamy, twinkly feel, just from 3 ostinato layers. It's not necessarily a polyrhythm, because each one was played at a random tempo, no specific value was assigned. For the effect, i kept it simple and used just a piano, no fancy synth or anything like that. A lot of processing was done to the piano, to keep it very floaty, and less intrusive. It forms most of the main elements of this piece.
The rest comprises of drums, pads, strings, 2 different melodies and a 303 synth. The drums are interesting in that like the twinkly piano effect, it too has a weird time signature thing going on. Unlike the above, i just matched it to 140bpm, instead of using 3 different tempo's. The drums kind of lock itself into a groove of 5/4, but with a lot of weird beats being accented, yet despite all this, i still managed to maintain a constant pulse with a sort of identifiable 4 on the floor kick pattern. The rest is mostly velocity changes to the drums, to keep it syncopated, but despite that, you are hearing a standard untz kick. The melodies were kept to C Major, but the rhythms of the melody were loosened to match the weird time signature of the whole piece. Same with the other melodies and the 303 synth. I've talked a lot, so i hope you enjoy this unusual but kind of interesting experiment.
And for those wondering, this is a real submission not a troll. I know i am known for things like that, but most times i take music seriously. Lots of thought processing went into this. Hope you like it anyways!
