I'm imagining something like Ex Machina or Portal 2. You escaped the underground facility with a deadly AI and you made it... somehow. But the trauma is still there.

Squinting, holding up a shaky hand, trying desperately to hold the elusive power within your grasp... And also lining up your hand to catch the sun between your fingers!

Had the idea to have separate melodies alternate on the same instrument.

The hands with the sun reminded me of sunrise and sunset and the idea of trying to make sense of everything. The piano track falls and rises again. Everything over top was done on my Chompi (a sampler/looper that I'm still getting the hang of!)

Startled awake by wretched sounds

In the dark nightlight, I scrub up the puke mounds

The filthy smell keeps my nose awake

My exhaustion, alerted, sends me to no bounds

As the sun peeks over the curve

The fuzzy ones do leaps and pounce

Cover the sun my hands on my eyes

Kitty kisses asks for pets where she lies
