waiting
aching
staying in place
stranded on my island in space
searching
lurching
around this place
all alone on my island in space
and the moon projects its face on the tide
as it pulls toward everything i left behind
and i wonder if you're missing me
back home
but i know the world keeps turning
though i'm gone
weeping
retreating
i cannot face
why i went to this island in space
i'm leaving
i'm keeping
you all away
as i hide on my island in space
and the moon projects its face on the tide
as it pulls toward everything i left behind
and i wonder if you're missing me
back home
but i know the world keeps turning
though i'm gone
"I've never seen the view from this far up. It's magnificent beyond my wildest dreams"
This track can be a bit...loopy heavy towards the end, but that's because i ran out of time, so repetition legitimises lol. It's best described as a very chill number with a 3/4 breakbeat signature, a long dynamic melody, and then towards the middle some more chords, more arps, and a whole host of sounds to make you feel relaxed and in a good mood. Maybe epic sounding as well, but that's because i wanted this track to just keep on adding to the same progression, which i believe spans about 32 bars. It's not the most technical, however i do love that progression a lot, it's definately super uplifting and pretty. The breaks aren't there to be obtrusive, so hopefully it grooves hard, without it being too much. All in all i hope you like it, it's a decent piece if i do say so myself. Enjoy!
You can be happy with you have, but you can long for what is missing.
Reflecting on the state of the universe isn't a good idea for someone who regularly deliberates for 15+ minutes on the simple decision of what to eat for dinner after work.
As I move across the space of stars
Stories told of days long past
Of what’s left of our ancestral home
That single tree among the rock
Cling to that fateful living thing
Space and darkness shield my home
It’s not just a symbol of our past
It’s a reminder of mistakes we’ve made
This is the tree that saw it all
Watched us dwindle down to nothingless
This is the tree that judged us all
We desperately cling to what’s left
This is the tree that saw it all
This is the tree that judged us all
This is the tree that saw it all
This tree is our burden
