Performed by Quinn Degeneste (I played out the idea, but Quinn performed it today). The theme is forced perspective and teachable to children. The idea with this piece is that the baseline is very simple. This is like the real sized person. It is bigger, and its job is simpler. The right hand is at least one octave above the left hand. This is farther away and smaller, but its complexity lets the simplicity of the left hand feel complex and interesting and memorable. The idea of a simple bassline conveys the idea that simple ideas conveyed well will let a children build on top of an idea over time. We almost had another instrument layered on top of this but the mix was off and it was unpleasant to listen to, so we get the raw piano track today. There is one brief hiccup in the recording.
on my couch
sick at home with a killer cough
9 AM
TV's on what can I watch?
ABC or PBS, yeah
channel 7 is the best, yeah
if I can get a signal
turn it on turn it on now
turn it on turn it on now
whoopee you're the star of the show
rosey cheeks and lemon floats
barbed wire cuttin my palm
I'll be glad when my joy's gone
for awhile
I thought you knew everything
oh so vile
your callous views got me wondering
calamari salamander
cookie monster gerrymander (huh?)
what the fuck does that mean?
turn it on turn it on now
turn it on turn it on now
whoopee you're the star of the show
rosey cheeks and lemon floats
barbed wire cuttin my palm
I'll be glad when my joy's gone
Made this in 40 minutes. It’s not a complex beat, but it does feature some modular sounds. This is a GarageBand beat, utilising a sort of calm Ambient feel. Reason for this, is that I’m away for 2 weeks on holiday, so I’m using the best I could. Just wanted to say Hi. in I don’t mind this, it’s pretty cool. Enjoy!
A maze of truths, a twisted view
Worlds colliding, realities clash
Lost in the echoes, a fractured flash
Multiple choices, divergent paths
A tapestry woven, scattered aftermath
Questioning existence, a mind's domain
Searching for answers, in the endless rain
Parallel timelines, overlapping space
A quantum leap, a mind's own race
Reality bending, like a twisted art
Lost in the chaos, a broken heart
Multiple choices, divergent paths
A tapestry woven, with scattered aftermaths
Questioning existence, a mind's domain
Searching for answers, in the endless rain
Can we reconcile, these fractured spheres
Or are we forever trapped, in doubt and fears
A cosmic puzzle, with missing pieces
Seeking unity, in these fractured deceits
The title is a quote from the video (he didn't say "MIDI", but still)
(1-bit style track)
i tried using loops this time, felt so weird lol. i wrote and recorded the lyrics in the last like 15 minutes also ahaha.
lyrics:
feelin like
you can't relate
twenty years
it's way too late
to get away
not trying to
to focus on
what's in front of you.
look at me
don't look at me
no, look at me
don't look at me
don't look at me
please look at me
don't look at me
don't look at me
It's a soft, white light
for the baby and the beetle
it's a soft, white light
at the tip of a needle
got a black birds eye
up above from the steeple
got a black birds eye
50cal desert eagle
oh baby ill wait, ill follow
nobody I'm taking the gold
already its over, sorrow
tomorrow, I'll lay down my sword
give it up, blue sky
for the baby and the beetle
holy sacrifice
pick a side, good vs evil
giving up my time
for all the lonely people
giving up my life
back to dust back in vitro
be above it
be above it
be above it
be above it
i couldnt listen back first apologies to your ears
