(secret: it's the first 32 digits of pi shoved in a chord progression)
Everything goes to the next step. Everything has a beginning, a middle, an end, and a new beginning. Everything starts over. Everything continues.
Created an arp of mirrored notes in a rough circle as a chuckle at the seemingly infinite nature of Pi's digits. Mostly synthetic madness with some organic elements as a treat.
random as usual. learning things......
This is a different kind of beat, in that the drums are entirely based off PI. Let me explain.
I created 9 patterns of drums, each different, and each assigned to a time signature. The time signature goes through the 9 numbers that are used in Pi.
So it would be 1/1 3/4 5/4 etc, etc.
The number 0 is represented by a vocal effect, saying GO. This is reverbed, delayed and assigned to 1 bar of 4/4.
The track then cycles through as many digits of PI as 6 minutes will allow me, until the end. The drums do not stop, aside from the filters that are used throughout.
In terms of melody and harmony, the chords keep to 4/4, but extend over a period of 36, as does the bassline also in 4/4. I tried to go for a weird major feel, to keep it melodic, whilst also being experimental. The melody is very long and dynamically varied, going through various notes and phrases until the end. There are breaks in the melody for what is essentially a drum or bass solo, to avoid repetition or constant dynamics. Lastly i threw in a voice sample, and more melodic embellishments, to allow for less repetition, more variety. All in all this is very cool stuff, hope you enjoy!
theme song for when you get teleported inside a calculator after inputting π = and are just racing through all the digits (it happened to my friend once)
halfway through the thing, my idea for the song switched and it sorta turned out cool!!! wish I had more time to finish mixing it though
I did this in about half an hour so it's kinda short
It would be kind wild if moths fell out of the sky or there was thunder or something someone should write a song about that
Spiral in, spiral out
Lost in the depths of your soul
What are you hiding behind there
What edges haven’t been told
Know that I love you
And that processing is hard
But I’ll be there if you reveal the glass
Show me the depths inside your mind
I’m here to hold you up, your emotions crystalline
I’ll bring you to the forest
I’ll hold you in the trees
I’ll carry you through the darkness
Across the glass and past the breeze
I’ll be with you forever
As you understand your dread
Shatter the dark with a glass sword
And light the way ahead
This is the song that doesn't end
Yes it goes on and on, my friend
Some people started singing it, not knowing what it was
and they'll continue singing it forever just because
