Went for a drone style today, something a lot less common than my usual style, but sometimes i think the theme needs it, so it all depends. This one has a lot of swelled chords, thick drone pads in E, as well as a slow piano that one could say is technically arpegiated, but it's more like just keys being hit slowly to give that airy effect. There's also faded strings, various pads automated with more of a human feel than i usually would, and a faint square lead to keep it from being too boring. Lastly it's all soaked in reverb for that ambient feel. I kind of like this one, it's cool. Enjoy!
I need some rest.
The best way I could think to go about this was to update a song from a long time ago. I made the original version of this almost exactly 10 years ago. Here's the version from 8 years ago that I publish on soundcloud for reference: https://soundcloud.com/therifleheroes/excalibur
I tried keeping to the original sound design as closely as possible.
charred remains of grandma
sealed in a pot of clay
displayed next to aunt ethel
a museum of remains
one day it'll finally be your turn
to spend all of eternity in an urn
unless (unless!) future archaeologists dig you up
and pour you into glass vials for scientific experiments
awakening yoursoul
cursing those who disturbed your home
visiting them with blight and death
haunted until their last breath
one day it'll finally be your turn
to spend all of eternity in an urn
sitting high and mighty on your shelf
no more concerns about your mental health
