"For the PRC386 competition i decided to go with Zephyr from Contra Hard Corps (Sega Genesis)
Why? (Put this in the contest description)
From looking and analysing past competitions there is no mention of anything Contra. I didn't want to do the obvious, and so went with one of my favourite soundtracks from the franchise. Zephyr from the Hard Corps. This is a great pick as it can entertain the Metal-Heads and the Rave-Heads. It's also good for some sonic experimentation.
I also took the time to create a MIDI from scratch. Again it took me no time at all. I uploaded it to VGMusic for ease of access."

"Hey there! I... honestly didn't expect to win (my first PRC, at that!); I was quite surprised! Thank you all, once again, and thanks Bundeslang for hosting this competition in the first place! :)
So... searching around for something to submit as a suggestion, I came upon a game that I hadn't really heard of, so I started listening to its soundtrack, and then this song came up.
... My choice was made then and there. Interestingly, the only mention I could find of this song on this site (to the best of my knowledge) is from a remix request 6 years ago, so this game and song have been quite overlooked!
With that, I'd like to request that Starlight Highway from Snowboard Kids 2 on the Nintendo 64 be the source for the next PRC round!
I'm really looking forward to what you all do with this one, and thanks!"

So if you use SoundCloud, don't forget to allow downloads, otherwise your song does not count as an entry or bonus mix. I will still use ThaSauce as a possible place to submit songs and upload all the songs to the ThaSauce page to have the songs at one central place.
If ThaSauce is down, please also submit the song somewhere else with a download link and post the link in the Ocremix Thread.
To participate it is enough to only remix one of the sources, as written in the 'Multiple Source Rounds' description at the rules site.

Hey y'all, I'm a newcomer here, but I hope you can appreciate what I put together. I absolutely loved the melodic elements in this track, and wanted to really emphasize them in my mix. This is much slower than the original, and I hope you can groove to it as much as I am. Enjoy!

As promised in the OC Remix thread a song by me. The song's containing parts of both sources, using the tempo of the Contra song.

I tried to challenge myself and do a remix is one siting using both sources. The notes don't always match up but I had fun resampling, tweaking, and scrambling samples live. I tried to keep it in a more traditional song format which is tough for me. I usually go for the build, build, build method. Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy. This was fun to combine two sources.

Welp, Contra ain't my cup of tea, I couldn't get anything satisfying enough with it so I'm glad the second source is here to back me up.
I don't know this game but I'll definitly check it out because with chord progressions like that, this game might be the hidden holy grail of N64 games.
I liked this chords so much I made a 4:34 music from them. So yeah, that might be a LITTLE bit repetitive.
But hey, you gotta admit that I nailed those drums.
(It's 3:29 am as I'm writing now, I'm sure that when I'll go check tomorrow this will sound like garbage so let me live my dream rn)

I combined both sources and added some original melody on top of that. Aspects from both sources are used in each section of the song and there is experimentation with 7/8 in the second half of it as well.

THIS IS A BONUS MIX, PLEASE DON'T VOTE FOR IT PLEASE!
This one was tough for me, as the other source is just as good, but because i won the last one, it's probably a bonus anyways. I hope we have a good mix of entries, and if someone remixes both, i'd be impressed. Whatever i decided to be a little safe lol and do some Contra Remixing.
This is an awesome tune. I will say Contra Hard Corps has some pretty kickass guitar solo's like this one. Format X also has a pretty great solo. Seriously the soundtrack is fast and frenetic, but pretty enjoyable, for me my personal favourite in the franchise. I've played the game too, and my god i couldn't reach the end without Game Genie XD.
My take is less metal, than the soundtrack is advertising it to be, despite the fact half the score is raving techno. This track sounds very rave, despite it's sort of metal influences at the end, and beginning. I really took the electronic rave/90's sound to the front, so we have a loud euphoric, but intense track.
To simplify it, it's pure rave and i hope you enjoy it anyways.
