A Journey to the Victory (PRC138)
- Description
- "Heya,
here is a very underestimated piece of good old retro gaming music. I've actually played this song live, in some sort of death metal version with two guitarists... I wish we had recorded that back then.

Heaven In My Hands by

The remixes that I like best are often in a certain genre which it follows quite strictly when it comes to production. This one is supposed to be Melodic/Uplifting Trance and I think I managed it well.
This'll probably be my next project to submit to OCR.

Hello, it's me again.
I mixed this in my usual style, electro + chiptune. This one is heavier on effects and automation, practically everything has some heavy manipulation at one point or another. I wanted to give it a more future synthpop feel as well, while retaining that retro-kraftwerkesque tone.
My endings are still pretty bad but still I hope you enjoy this.

Well, I've tried to preserve the feeling of the original song.
The mix could have a little bit more pressure. But I've ran out of time.
I hope, you like it anyway.

The Next Level (From NES to SNES) by
setokaibarocket
No dodgy skeletal remix this time! A hiphop remix of the theme I stayed up making till 5 AM last night, lol
Every sound except for the drums, bass and scratch are from the SNES, hehe (Final Fantasy in particular, unless I'm mistaken)
I quite like this mix, maybe if I could find someone to collab with who writes and raps good lyrics suited to the song (and maybe the game itself, if I'd actually bother to look up what it's about, lol) I could submit to OC, with maybe a bit of tweaking..
Ps. As you may know if you've heard many of my mixes, I'm a sucker for vibrato flute-ey leads, lol

Waltz to Victory by

This is a short waltz interpretation of the theme.
If you hear any weird distortion in the song, please download the file and listen to it, no idea, what happened there.

Well, I had a lot of fun doing this one. I think it's one of my better interpretations.
The title came from the 'plot' of the game, in which Jay is told by his father's floppy disks how to fulfill the space colony plans.

Decided to throw something together quick-ish. Used Schism Tracker for this (just amplified it in Audacity). It's a bit rough (and short) but I think I succeeded nicely in giving this groovy tune a different atmosphere.
I used to track in Fast Tracker, so it was a learning experience. :) (Schism has Impulse Tracker interface).

Punish the Innocent (BONUS) by

Bonus remix. Standard electronic stuff with standard piano stuff blended into a standard remix.
Not happy with the transitions nor the bass during the melody, I'm happy with the piano stuff.
