Typed as I went along!

More than a Fantasy: Good ol' string opening. Got a piano playing the main riff in the intro then you bring in the strings and pizzi variants to add a bit more color to the arrangement. If there is really one complaint really its just that there feels like there could have been a bit more stereo field manipulation of the different string parts. Now, I do like the part where you bring in the bells (glockenspiel?) It is a nice refrain from the larger string bits and then you just go full ham. Cymbal splashes and rolls are definitely a nice addition in the end though, but perhaps you could have lessened the number of them?

Tergum in Tempus - Mmmm, a Latin name . . ., noice. Lets see if it takes me back to my youth, eh? All right, kick has a nice front end to it. That main stab at first I thought was panned oddly, but it is just slowly panning. Light pad in there that turns into a rather aggressive saw. I'm digging the light hats and ride. This is definitely not quite what I expected here. The play with the melody on those brighter and light synths is quite a nice touch too. Quite a few interesting bits of processing here and there too to keep it a bit more interesting. In a way this kind of reminds me of a minimal track in a good way. I feel that perhaps the drums other than the kick are pushed a bit too far back in the mix. The ending lead is a great little touch at the end to add something a bit different to the track too. Definitely not at all what I expected.

The Final Rave - Sorta the opposite idea I had here, instead I ended softly but you ended big. Anyway, onto my thoughts! The intro is a bit on the whimsical side with some nice transition FX, and really almost like a cheesy 90s ROMpler take on the source. Not gonna lie that is actually pretty legit. Heck even got some cheesy brass! All right, classic off beat bassline and a big roaring kick. On those Closed Hats, maybe try panning some of the hits to make the drums a bit more interesting. Great use of filtering to layer the instruments too. All right, solid little breakbeat. Now, where I'm a bit disappointed is in the reuse of the original instrumentation from the front end of the track. Couldn't have made it a bit more inline with the more upfront bass and drums? Solid tom fill as well. Though I do love that cheesy brass. Interesting breakdown choice too rolling into a break and then backing off. Not how I would've done it, but hey it works I suppose. Now, that ending is pretty legit I love the tempo speed down effect :)

Defeating Your Heart - Hmmmm, dirty bass and a kick without much top end. Pan steel drums sounds like. Pretty solid guitar work here too. Snare is a bit weak and the overheads are too buried behind everything yet too overly present. I do dig the synth flute (sounds like a synth flute to me at least). All right, so this is where I have to say that I cannot make sense of the space of this track, like at all. Everything is just all over the place. The ideas are **** fantastic, but man I just cannot get where you were trying to place things. It is as if the synthetic elements are occupying an entirely different reality to the non-synthetic elements. Maybe that was intentional or not, but it is just so hard to process everything going on when the guitar sounds like it is both center stage and by the drummer at the same time. While I do like the guitars, try trimming off some of their higher harmonics with a LPF next time ;) I did rather like that ending though.

BONUS ENTRY ~ My Clan Fights As One - No FOOLING around in the beginning, huh? Kick is a bit buried where I'd expect it be almost timpanic in nature. Gravely guitars mixed with a chorus that then runs into a nice little lead guitar kind of thing. Definitely, leaning more symphonic than rock though I think. Oh? I can start to hear that kick come through. If I'm being honest I do really like that snare. All right, moar geetar. Oooh, great blend of that brass, strings, and choir too. And of course can't go anywhere without some big bells I suppose lol. Maybe try & pull out some of the lower mids of the guitars to give a bit more weight to the orchestral part and give the guitars a bit more emphasis in the actual mid range. Also, perhaps pushing the orchestral elements a bit wider and bringing the guitars in a bit closer to create a more cohesive image of the entire thing. Think if you had guitars with an actual orchestra and how that may sound :)

Have i dreamed of space? - Okay, so this is definitely reminiscent of the FTL OST. That sort of chip tuney, but not quite vibe. Definitely, digging that. Is that a Wurlitzer I hear or it could be a Rhodes, but sounds more Wurlly to me? I love the crunchy hats too. Mmmmm, so tasty. Decent sub bass with a noodly lead (definitely my kind of thing). You know your sound choice reminds me quite a bit of how I would go about it lol. You know on the surface this is a pretty straight interpretation of the original, but the choice of sounds and approach are just so vastly different! Not at all I was expecting here. Good stuff!

Have I dreamed of space? - Very relaxed an cohesive, and I love the sounds you chose for each melodic line.

Tegum in Tempus - As you were going for, this one is very fun! I'm a big fan of the arpeggiated melody.

I can't judge by the technical part yet, so I judge by impressions.

Of Judges and Jagds by APZX

Nice bright energetic mix, nice piano part at the end

More Than a Fantasy by Souperion

I really like the different moods of this track, something melancholic at the beginning and epic at the end.

Tergum in Tempusby Pressure_Echo

Very minimalistic and clear sound, rest for the ears. Simple and with taste, I really like it.

The Final Rave by TheVideoGamer

The first part is ok.

The second dance part is very cool. I especially want to highlight the first amen break, it sounds great!

Defeating Your Heart by studionimbus.org

Great mix, great guitar solo! Congratz with new studio!

BONUS ENTRY ~ My Clan Fights As One by Wassup Thunder

Everything is very cool, if it were not for the bonus, it would probably be in 1-2 place.

APZX: Love the approach, very groovy. The leads kinda ambushed me with volume, but it was easy enough to adjust to. Flows energetically and majestically, well done.

Pressure_Echo: Very plucky and fun in an almost relaxed way. Makes me think of tutorial music.

TVG: Not having orchestral stuff is never something to apologize for. I love the synthy goodness of it all. The first half was fun, but the rest of it was far more characteristic of you. I think the piece needs a bit more dynamic variety to really punch out, but I do enjoy the soundscape and arrangement.

Studionimbus: Success on upping the intensity, I like the changes. The (pan?) flute adds a nice playful element to contrast the rocking energy you brought in. Cheers to having friends who will do soloes for ya!

Gerych02: Welcome to the community! I enjoyed the space-like take on the piece, very delicate with a fun mood to it. Really liked the rise about halfway through the piece. Keep it up!

Wassup T: I am impressed with the variety of instruments you got to work in this piece, dancing around and changing parts. It's like a diverse yet balanced clan, each filling their respective roles to earn hard-won victory. I am especially fond of the chimes accenting the part B melody. Very nice heroic atmosphere.

Voting is so much harder when there's more people! So much fantastic music!

APZX

Great use of reverb and space in the composition to let notes ring and echo. Very spacious!

Really fun synth selection, has a very playful mood!

I'm a sucker for Piano intermissions. It was a very beautiful way to conclude the piece. You created excellent variation on the melody and accompaniement.

Lovely ending!

Souperion

Lovely somber twist on the source, the strings carry the weight of your intended theme quite well.

The soundscape of piano, string, and tuned percussions makes an enchanting composition, it gave me some fairy tale vibes!

The final section brought an excellent intensity without breaking the serenity of the piece. The song's progression really gave a good story of being immersed in fantasy then breaking out of it!

Pressure_Echo

The bass and percussion really reminds me of something... 80's music maybe? Not sure, but it brings a groovy new vibe to the composition!

The sparkly synths and squares are beautiful, giving a bright melody to blend with the slightly crunchier bass line.

I'm still a sucker for piano. And it sounded great filling in the accompaniement parts!

Your composition has a great consistency that continued to evolve as it went along. Great work!

TheVideoGamer

I love looking at your compositions when the waveform graph EXPLODES in the second half!

The first section is a great approach to reflecting the original's organic instruments with synthetics. It recaptures the original vibes nicely!

And that SECOND section, man! I never get tired of hearing you put some epic dance styles to unsuspecting sources! The percussion is rich and pounding, the bass crunchy, and it's delightfully trancey. Excellent job spinning the source to this style!

And I loved that ending.

Studionumbus.org

I LOVE the texture in the guitars and bass! It makes the flute stand out even more, a beautiful blend of elegance and crunchy.

The intro was brilliant, the sparkling staccato notes over the sweeping pad and bass was artistic genius.

That guitar solo is on FIYAH. Jake truely slayed it.

I love guitar slides. You used guitar slides. I loved it.

That intro was a cool creation, nice work!

Gerych02

Ooh, this spacey electric vibe is a beautiful reinterpretation of the source!

Great use of an airy composition, the reverb and echoes have plenty of room to sound out. The bass and piano add a grounding effect to the song, keeping the cosmic synths and plucks from flying off into the stratosphere.

It's almost got a lofi sound to it, and I love it. Great use of swelling sfx for emphasis. Nice work all around!

APZX - I really liked that last segment

Gerych02 - I have a soft spot for more mellow and relaxed music, so I really appreciated this in contrast to the other submissions
