Sggod89 - Nice rocking start, and everything else is rocking too. It's a bit short and doesn't have a real ending, but it's strong.
Binweasel - Very good work. There's much variation in the song. Ending is abrupt.
Lidawg - This song has much in it, and variates between different genres, I like that. Even though some 'switches' are weird, it's very funny.

Very hard choice, all the songs where worked out well and had full of good ideas.

Battle in the Skies - I really like this. Its true to the original and really rocking. The performances are solid. It left me wanting more

Planetary Anthem - The arrangement is really nice and I like the interpretation (the description made me giggle). The guitar at around 0:55 is really nice and emotive. Would love to here a bit more processing to give it more life as the arrangement is cool.

Battle in the Skies

Very organic, indeed. Tight guitar work and carefully crafted arrangements for each instrument all bound with awesome production values. One of the hallmarks of a great arrangement: fusing the spirit of the source material with that of the intended medium while sacrificing neither.

Success.

Lidawg's had more interpretations, used more of the source, and pandered more to what I find enjoyable (chimey stuff! strings!). The one thing that put me off is the harshness of the violin-thingy at 1:43 and onward.

I love the guitars in sggod89's! I haven't been able to really blast it, so maybe this is just from having to listen to it kinda quiet (I am also not very familiar with this style of music, so perhaps it is not an issue at all?!), but the lead guitar seems drowned out by the majestic thrashing stuff. But if Tyrian was an arcade console, this would be on my walkman alongside Rush.

Very, very close vote, honestly. I hope you both beat me. XD
