TheVideoGamer - This track was originally gonna be Ambient music, and whilst i didn't hate the results, it wasn't doing it for me, so i did what TVG knows best, and stuck a 200bpm break on top of it lol. It was originally 100bpm, i just sped it up so i could chop the breaks better, but the concept is no different. The track is all about the long drawn out chords. It's less about a chord progression, as much as it's just a free flowing track, with chords coming in and out. It's mostly F# Minor, but it modulates to D Major later on. The break is the standard Amen, but with lots of chopping to keep it interesting, as well as gross beat and DBlue effects to keep it glitchy. I tried to add stuff to keep it interesting, but eventually i hit a snag, so instead i broke it down to bring it back to the start. I also threw in a 100bpm break towards the end, to make a proper ending, so it wasn't too boring. All in all, i like this one, it's definately got the best ambience i've done. Oh well, glad you liked it!
DarkShadow - Interesting time signatures as usual, it's never a DarkShadow track without them lol. The track is quite Chiptunechore sounding, but yet the beat doesn't scream gabber, despite the distorted kicks. Cool rhythms, and melodies, but perhaps a tad bit loud for me personally. It sort of gets close to clipping, but it is a lot of fun. Good job!
DDRKirby(ISQ) - This track is very chill, and quite uplifting to boot. The beat is lovely, not too obtrusive, and not too quiet, it's nice and downtempo. The chords are relaxing, even if it's only two chords, there is a lot to give with them. The melody is so nice as well, it's got that balance between 8-bit and modern production sensabilities. For bodering 4 minutes, i wasn't bored too, it's just peaceful, has a lot of killer melody ideas, and the mix is just absolutely lovely. Beyond quality stuff, it was so good i placed it on the top spot, incredible work!
A2Z - This is a jungle track if i've ever heard of it. Right down to the oldschool break, the smooth chords, the sound effects, and even that thick 808 sub. If you were trying to make an authentic Jungle experience, you delievered. The main melody in this is exceptionally catchy, and the vibe is a mix of eerie, slightly creepy but yet chill. The only real critique i have, is personally i would do a bit more variation in the break work here. Yes there is some fills, but i feel these could be stronger to make it standout. Still though, doesn't change how good the tune is, i could vote for it, awesome work!
Nukage - This one is kind of weird, because when you start, you don't know if it's gonna be a chill acoustic entry, or metal, and in this case it becomes metal. The drop is amazing as always, as is the singing, i'm just astounded at the level of detail provided in a 4 minute track, it's just great. I do make long entries sure, but mine at best is simple and straight forward, this is just very detailed and intricate. The atmosphere is there too, there's nothing else to say it's a quality metal production. So fire, i chose it for the 2nd spot, amazing work!
UnknownPseudoartist - I thought with the wave sounds, it'd be pretty peaceful, but then the metal part comes in and it's not lol. So amusing to have a metal track followed by ambient DnB followed by Metal, it's not often you see that. The kick work is really great in this, and i really dig the guitar tones too, it doesn't scream cavern, but it does have some very catchy melodies. Love the background string work too. I couldn't really find much else to say, it's a very well done Metal track. Very long tail, but that's fine. Lovely stuff, well done!
DarkMystery727 - I like how at the beginning, it sort of has a creepy vibe going on, borderline horror-ish, but as you listen it becomes warmer and more uplifting, as if i'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I like the soundfont choice, the strings are partway between oldstyle strings from a SNES game, a synth patch, and a real string sound. It's very cool, and sort of lo-fi. There isn't exactly much else going for it, this is basiclaly the whole sound, but it's the kind of sound that is broken into layers throughout, and more importantly it's done extremely well. The end part was really nice, quite uplifting but still keeps the cavern feel, definately love this. It was good enough for the third spot, amazing work!
InvisibleObserver - This sounds like it belongs to progressive house, which is amusing as the track length is only a minute. For these kinds of tracks you're looking at 5 minutes at the bare minimum, so to hear it at this short of a length, is mildly unfortunate, but totally understandable, as you only have an hour to play with. The mix is perfect though, there is nothing else to note about the mix, it's exceptionally well done. Whole track is smooth, with a killer bass, that i wouldn't be offended you did an extra minute of that. Lovely stuff, well done!
Arcana - The way it opened for me, reminded me of a Coloradoweeks styled production, even though this is Arcana. I really dig the cute melodies here, you don't often go this cute, nor do you really go for Future Bass in general. Mix is great, but i do think there is potential. The kick is quite loud compared to the rest, and personally the snare drum sounds like it's lagging. Not lagging as in lagging behind, i mean buffering/fuzzy. The vocals get a bit lost in the main vocal melody, it mainly feels like it's out of key at times, but i applaud you for making a genre i actually would suck at to be fair. It's really good stuff all things considered, good job!
