great entries everyone! this really was a challenging theme this week and you all killed it. studying for finals got a heck of a lot more entertaining with all of you around :)

1. aside from the fact that you literally wrote an f-cking mini soundtrack in the course of an hour (and some change) this was really great and i loved all your takes on this theme!

@Misael.K - Dairy Queen is actually the name of a real ice cream chain, i just picked it because it sounded cool lol.

@Coloradoweeks - Haha that would be good.

@CotMM - I wanted to make sure it alternates between slow and fast pasts, to really have the intensity build-up.

@Misael.K - I was mimicking a piano player, not necessarily actually making a playable piece haha. This might work more as a duet than a solo piece. My room isn't big enough for a piano, so it was all digital.

@CotMM - Yeah, one chord can get a bit boring, so it was good to mix it up.

@David John - Dam bad? Is that a TV show?

@Coloradoweeks - It definately does feel like Soft Serve.

@Ethansight - Wash lol. I guess it might need a little bit of mixing.

TheVideoGamer - This entry was made with only 2 instruments. That's not a joke, i literally just used a single pad instrument and a piano. All digital, because i don't have the room for a real piano lol. The pad serves as an ornament for the piano, adding both texture and sparkle to the piece, because otherwise for me, it feels dry. At first i tried making nothing but 1 chord, but i got bored of that, so i added a few to change things up. The main bulk of the piece is the dynamic changes, going from very soft to very loud in the span of a minute or two. There is quite a few thrown in the piece, but it's all done seamlessly to avoid it being both too deliberate, and too aggressive. I didn't want it to be pure dynamic changes in every second. Long story short, i really like this one, especially for how simplistic it is. Hope you enjoy it too!

Lyra_183 - This is Melanie Martinez right? I don't invest myself in pop music, so this is all new to me. Melanie has quite the image, kind of creepy like horror movie like. Really nice cover, good job!

DarkShadow - Classic DarkShadow sound, very bass heavy as always. The basslines and chords in this one are a little on the dissonant and repetitive side. Good job though!

cotmm68030 - Interesting rock vibes here, it feels like some Nine Inch Nails tune. The backing track is very lo-fi for me, it almost feels like a drum machine and a synth. I see what you are doing, but i don't know if it works for me. The distorted voices are a little on the overpowering side as well. They drown out a lot of the mix. Maybe i was expecting more of a rock kind of track, rather than a drum machine/electronic one. Your singing is soo good though, i'll give you that. Good job though!

Barley - This is the first i've seen you go into electronic music production. Very tight drum grooves, and great melodies. Waveform is a little quiet, and the drums could be a little punchy. The lyrics are extremely funny, that was the highlight for me. The track could do with a bit more polish, but as of now, good job!

Koekepan - Beautiful piano playing, love the simplicity, you are right, this does share similarities to mine, and i love it. The soft quiet pad, and the piano is soo nice, kind of cinematic in areas. Great melodies, Well done!

Dex - Daam i didn't know your mum could sing!? She sounds soo good! It's the first i've seen you use a real voice in your tracks. Would love to see when it's finished. Great cover! Ton of fun, well done!

Misael.K - Very nice bitcrushed drum grooves, great ambient melodies, so chill, but so funky at the same time. The drums have so serious weight to them, it's soo funky. Everything is sooo nicely done, well done!

Ethansight - Man what a chord progression, this is definately Ethansight harmony. Very nice and upbeat, such a great chord sequence. That is such a lovely string melody. Maybe the drums could do with a bit more percussion, it feels like just a kick and snare, but the rest is amazing, soo good, awesome work!

Eva - Great playing as always! Really nice vocals. The timing on this one needs a fair bit of work, i can sense it falling behind a bit, but i really like the work on the guitar. Good job though!

Arcana - Very electronic focused, i like it a lot. Great chords and drums, very much trance with a hint of electro. The vocals are a bit hard to decipher in this one, i feel it needs a bit more presence, however the compression on the beats was lovely, maybe it's just a bit of expansion, especially since it's short. Good job though!

JH Sounds - So this isn't a Beatles cover? lol. Lovely chords, really nice lyrics, not familiar with the original, but the arrangement was very nice, great vocals, well done!

Suzumebachi - Man you always create such unique chord progressions! Like this is not something i've heard in any song i know. It's sooooo lovely, i can never do progressions like this. The whole thing is beautiful, even if it's so god damn short and relies on simple staccato rhythms. Incredible work!

DDRKirby(ISQ) - I don't know if i should critique it as one, or as individual tracks lol. It started life as a 9 minute track, which i would have loved to hear, but you had to follow the OHC rules, so i guess 6 minutes it is. To be fair, this is not new stuff for me, you've done soundtrack styled pieces before. Every track was a smash. The smooth jazz like vibes of track one, the chiptune heavy feels of track 2, the more atmospheric chord like structures of track 3, the bring and uplifting "news alert" mood of track 4 and the calm relaxing "It's all over" vibe of track 5. I don't think i could get very far with a OST, so i'm kind of glad your here to fill the void. Every track was just sooo good, Incredible stuff!
