Hoboka: it's a beautifully haunting rendition. The wide and sweeping synths sound of space dust and static of lost transmissions. The transition to the metroid main theme was just "MMM!" The breathy bass sounds, and the spooky vocalizations resonated so well with the piercing melody. Love this.

NickC: Pirate Command is pleased with this development, and is issuing an increase in pay and rations to to the NickC science team! The harsh synthetic noises gives a pleasing, chilling vibe. It sounds like a twisted transmission lost in space. The echoing percussion gives more of that astral feel. Something almost sounds like indistinguishable vocalizations, and I dig it.

APZX: I enjoy the warm, open synths and beats. It flows well and the beat feels almost soothing. Overall it feels chill and smooth that almost seems at odds with its source. I enjoy it.

TheVideoGamer, I still enjoy the simple and fitting take on the intro. Nice one.

And I dig your bonus entry, Souperion! You were a worthy opponent with great mixes. next time though, there will only be one winner! XD

Black Samos Debut - Definitely dark. Love those low saw swells as well. Overall an interesting take. Though I do feel the piano could have used a longer delay decay.

Metroid the Metroid - You know I kinda like this. Close to the source, and while lacking the reverb department it has atmosphere in spades regardless. The contrast of the mostly dry instrumentation with the sustained sounds being very subdued in comparison.

Dread - Sub hits. Noice. Though you can definitely hear the limiter working overtime. The distortion is a great touch on the instrumentation is a great touch. I do rather like the industrial nature of the drums though. Got the Metroid Prime style whistle synth in there as well. There is quite a bit of atmosphere here.

False Salvation - Thankfully, I am not the only one who touched this source! I really did like the just how big it actually sounded. Though I do feel some of the instrumentation is slightly out of place compared to the rest of things. The violin (viola?) is just way way to forward compared to the rest the mix. The triangle is as well. Plus there are moments where you're really pushing hard against the limiter.

She Stands Alone - I don't know if I like the real instrumentation in conjunction with the synths and such. It is a very interesting take on the source regardless. I think really the biggest complaint is the lack of space in the track. There are moments where you nail the space and then others where it simply falls apart completely and things sound so one dimensional.

After much thinking, i believe APZX is the winner. Let's go.

Souperion - Really nice attempt, some great synth sounds here, and definitely some really nice effects, they work super well with the track. As a whole this sounds lovely. If i had to point out some flaws, it's largely the sounds themselves, they sound really dry. Also for me the dynamic range is a bit uneven, so there can be moments of loudness that's is unexpected. As a whole though, i love this attempt, great range of sounds!

APZX - Beautiful mastering dude, i absolutely love the lead melody so much it's awesome. I think the mastering alone is enough to pick you as winner. What i love is how you kept it oh so familiar, but with a lot of new varieties to keep it interesting, that's just an awesome approach. Honestly the only critique i have, is to introduce a breakdown. It does keep going for a bit, especially for this kind of composition. So break it down, with some kind of solo instrument, then bring it back up, but otherwise awesome work dude, love it!

Wassup Thunder - A worthy contender for a film score, it's very cinematic, i love it also. Everything feels very natural and organic, which is a plus. The only problems for me here, and there are only 2 is largely the layering. The layering can get a bit clustered, making most of the sounds fighting for the front. Also i think the attack on some of the instruments made it a little out of time, but that's more personal taste. As a whole, awesome idea to make it orchestral, this was a super nice take, well done!

HoboKa - Tough call, yours also had a beautiful range of sounds, especially digging the deep bass, resonated very well on my headphones. Also love the developments here too, very much enhanced from the original. (The unexpected vocal sample that comes in too, is hugely welcomed). For me the ending gets a little close to the threshold of loudness, and i also feel the excessive synth brass, makes it too much, even for 2 minutes (Maybe a pause or something with like a haunting ambient synth or vocal would work super well). That's all i could find though, the sounds are awesome, and the attempt was extremely solid. Well done!

NickC - I'm intrigued with the unique use of drum sounds. It adds more spooky atmosphere, in a way that i never would expected for it to work. However that does make it very bassy, and sound effect heavy. I do like the sounds a lot though, and the addition of beats make it a bit more groovy than ambient. MnP enough, but not too much in the realm of a remake. Personally the amount of bass, could be toned down, even in spite of the sick piano solo at the end. Other than that though, the rest was really good, and showcases a nice range of sounds. You did a good job here, well done!

NickC Dread - great experimental vibes added to the horror and suspense. The Metroid Prime sounds and Thardus style piano sold it for me. This is one corrupted MnP take for sure. Nice work man. Also...the part where it's just the piano and breathing, and the low drone in the background...god that is some Silent Hill shit lol.

APZX - It's like if you mashed Yoshi's Island with Donkey Kong Country. Though the scary mood of the source kind of got diminished by the warmth pad in lieu of the organ chords; maybe the toms could've been harder hitting too...? Dunno, doesn't feel quite like I'd imagine a Howlowe'en MnP take of the source material would be...but 'The One True Koopa Approaches' is still a pretty cool interpretation. I can see other Voters giving this remix #1 spot, easily.

TVG - Well, the breath sound you used is cool. And the low drone is nice.

BONUS's

Souperion - felt like a Dead Space and Metroid Prime vibe with the textures you chose. The eastern vibe with the (Erhu?) is something I hadn't heard before in a Metroid take, though it is a brief cameo. Those low vox notes and the brass are killer too.

Wassap Thunder - now this is a killer take on the Bowser Cometh source. Nice Taiku/Stormdrums! Orchestral stuff is the best of everyone here this round. Though, the solo violin is a tad shrill in the latter half. Love the new stuff that you added to the composition too. Very cinematic!

hoboka - some interesting textures in the intro and the main theme drop is cinematic af. only one nitpick is that the vocal sample makes it sound uncharacteristically earthly, you need to get an alien in the vocal booth

APZX - I like the retro style, the toms floating around the stereo field are a nice touch

TVG - might be low effort but I liked the instrumentation choices, being more overtly synthesis driven, using more of a string sound for the MP event jingle(I feel dumb for not realizing this is where it came from until this month lol). very cold sterile spacey vibe here
