Age of Cinder (Dark Souls 1) - Good space utilization going on. Feels almost like I'm sitting in a castle or something listening to this. The overall placement of elements really help to sell that vibe. In terms of the rest there isn't much to really say. It sounds like a period piece to me. So, I think you succeeded on that behalf.

Deltra Del X Hunter - This is kind of interesting. Almost like chip tune meets techno kind of vibe. I say that because of the way that the kick and bass interact with one another. Then you have some wonderful synth lines that come in, and I think the only thing that they're really missing is when you've got the layers going is to pan them out. Because really they are lovely lines with sounds that blend and layer together very nicely.

Super Metroid - The Atmospheric Horror Part 1 of 2 (probably) - Well good to know that I am not the only one who turned to Metroid this go around. Though you definitely went down a very different path than I did. First transition was pretty good. Though I do wish that the bass hit lower and harder. But yeah this is pretty Metroidy. So, ya you got me there haha.

Starless Wish (Undertale: Waterfall) - You know this starts all off all innocent and small. Then it doesn't even ask if you want more. It just does more. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

G-Force Original Soundtrack - I don't know where to really begin on even dissecting this one. It goes all over the place in terms of 90s to early 00s Techno, DnB, and Jungle, and like 5 other genres. I applaud the effort, and I actually do have a very good idea of the amount of work that goes into something like this. So, well done. There are some really awesome moments in here too. Like Sunken Waters. Not gonna lie that could probably be turned into a pretty legit Trance piece. I mean you've got everything there for it, just need to drop the tempo and change up the drum selection. Then Technological is so Blood is Pumping. But yeah lots of great ideas in here for real!

APZX - lovely take on Brinstar...always felt that Green Brinstar was sort of a black sheep in Metroid Music because it lends itself so well to EDM, Drum and Bass, etc. And you definately showcased its potential in that field expertly. Nice work! Saving this for my collection UwU

Souperion/Wassup Thunder - I slapped you guys together for the feedback, because I felt those shrill Metroid Prime 3 choirs did your otherwise fantastic remixes a bit of a disservice, because the other elements were more realistic. BUT Souperion, did do some choir-morphing, and his source pick 'Gwyn' has a very special place in my heart and Souperion MOSTLY cultivated the original feeling and gave it a very compelling re-interpretation...was tempted in slapping 'Age of Cinder' in top spot, but... APZX's entry was just too epic for me lol.

Also, Wassup Thunder jacked the volume of those MP3 shrill choirs too high and it hurt my ears Q_Q BUT, I really appreciate WT's Marching-Band percussive work - definitely the strongest point - and the non-choir orchestral stuff was alright - the percussion especially is better than what I can do with marching stuff, so...eh...you can punch me through your monitor in our DM's, that's fair lmfao. Still had some fun listening to it, so, nice effort!

Bundeslang - PROBABLY should not have given you a spot in the top 3, but I am biased to love MMX2 songs, and frankly, your retro OCR approach does it a lot of credit in my books, so congrats!! Gonna save it in my collection. Easily the second most enjoyable entry in this collection, at least to this stupid smelly hobo-tastic twat that is I, HoboKrap.

TheVideoGamer - Erm, well I do appreciate the drive and force in the material, as well as the creativity. Kinda hurt my ears though... Maybe it's the good kind of pain. Or I'm getting old and crabby. Sorry couldn't feel motivated enough to slot you in any of the 3 spots, considering there was a lot of other great choices to pick from. Nice "Streets of Rage" vibe to it though!

APZX: Delightful electronica of Super Metroid's Brinstar. Very solid arrangement, one of the best takes I've heard of the source.

Bundeslang: I quite like how the source sounds reversed and how you used backwards and straightwards parts in the piece. Somewhat muted intensity, kinda chill with enough of the original's tension.

Hoboka: You made a stellar remastering of some classic Metroid atmosphere. Almost all the elements of the first landing at Crateria, meeting the space pirates, and the gold statue room. An oppressive, forceful mood which would make me wary to even proceed in the area.

Wassup T: Very nice flow of the piece. There's a stoic air of perseverance, as if we are accompanying the monsters' journey into the dark underground. Very nice.

TVG: Pretty awesome stuff here, you sure accomplished a lot with this one. There were some parts which were a bit hard on the ears due to repetitive high frequencies accompanied by pounding percussion, but overall it's a great heaping mass of art.

AZPX - Like the feeling of this song, the strings are great. There's much variation. The last 30 seconds are nothing.

HoboKa - The song has a dark/spooky feeling what is catchy.

Souperion - Love this orchestral style, it works nicely.

Wassup Thunder - Coal mix of samples.

TheVideoGamer - One of the longest PRC entry's, probably. There's much creativity and variation.

APZX:

I NEVER get tired of hearing people's spins on this song! I loved the soundscape. The new melodies and parts you added are great additions to this familiar tune. I love the contrast of "deep" sounds and the high, airy segments. Very artistically done!

Souperion:

This reinvokes the feels beautifully. This medival-inspired instrumentation has a splendid vibe of ancient legends and tales of yore. Its a lovely, somber reinterpretation. Great work.

Bundeslang:

It's surprisingly satisfying to hear the source backwards and then forwards in the same arrangement! A fun twist on a great source. I enjoyed this electronic composition, there's something nostalgic about it but I just can't articulate it.

Hoboka:

You NAILED atmospheric tension and horror! Man, all the elements just weave beautifully together. This dregs up all the trepidation of my young self playing Super Metroid for the first time. It's so delightfully creepy. Great work!

TheVideoGamer:

Man, I love these soundtrack projects of yours. I listened to the full-quality ones you posted on OCR. It's an amazing feat to plan and execute this much content. All the tracks sound like part of the family, it's all got that helter-skelter (who says that anymore?) vibe of frantic action and pounding intensity. Great work!

After much thinking i think Wassup Thunder should get the win. From the top yes?

APZX - Nice synth elements here, loving the pads. Feels very futuristic, really digging the trance elements. I have no clue which Brinstar theme you are remixing, but i assume it's probably the NES version, who knows. The progression of the track is lovely, really like how you slowly add elements, while retaining the strong melody. I only really have 2 critiques of this, and one of them is a little small. I don't like the snare, but that could just be me. I feel like more of a clap might work, but as i've said, this might just be me. Second i feel like the breakdown is a bit too long and sudden. I got the release sure, but i just feel like the build-up could be a little more....hype maybe. However that doesn't mean i didn't enjoy it. It's more so, this could be a little....reworked is probably the word (By the way, the fade out is pretty lengthy, it's almost 2 minutes out of a 5 minute piece haha) I did enjoy this a lot though, the synth work was super lovely! Really nicely done, well done!

Souperion - Lovely orchestral harps and medieval instrumentation. The main melody is lovely, what is that? A synth or a acoustic instrument? Whatever it is, i loved it, very airy. Sounds like a mix of acoustic and electronic in areas. I mean it's primarily orchestral, but the melodies were super strong. I'm unfortunately not a Dark Souls maniac, i've never even played one game, however by listening to this, i super enjoyed the arrangement. The flutes and choirs sealed it for me. The one thing i would personally improve is that i feel some parts could do with a bit more polish. Some parts can be a bit too loud, especially in the melodies, such as the choir and the flute. I was struggling to find anything else, because my mind kept thinking, it's part of the style. I did love this though, the melodies were lovely, and the arrangement was super good, well done!

Bundeslang - Haven't heard a Bundeslang composition in a long time. Nice drums and synth. Love how balanced it is too, it doesn't feel hard on the ears. Never heard this one, but then again, i don't know everything on Video Game music. This one is very nice though, love the mix of Techno/Trance vibes, but with a hard rock structure. The drums are getting a lot of pushback from the synths, to the point where it's getting squished. The melodies were good, but i don't feel the saw synths in this one, but then again this might be, because it's advertised as a rock song, and this is purely electronic. The bassline is very cool though, and the idea was lovely. Probably my favourite remix you've done to date, love the work here. Well done!

HoboKa - Another Metroid remix, les goo. Loving the dark sounds here, very cinematic, perfect for a Horror Movie. Very detailed too, really feels like you're taking me on a 7 minute journey. Awesome choir sounds, perfect phrasing. Love how it slowly fades in and out, perfect ideas. The rain sound effects are also lovely too, really brings home the feeling of darkness. The first part can get a little too repetitive and long (My entry is alas the same, but worse. I was sucked into Contra, and not so much into Metroid, which was my intention. I guess whenever i make Dark Ambient, it results in techno lol). The second part is really good, i love the bassline in this, feels like it's sped up from the first part, and made into something more dramatic. I also feel there isn't much variation in the second half, but i don't know if the repetition is on purpose, or apart of the original soundtrack, but i feel this is trying to set itself up for something more intense and dark. Maybe this works for 4 minutes, or something, not 7. Still though, on a good note, the choir sounds were lovely, i loved the structure, and all 3 parts had something new to the table, even if it were more...loopy. Honestly i got a lot of enjoyment out of this, and it was a tone of fun to listen to. Well done!

Wassup Thunder - Now i am definately familiar with this composition. Really liking the strings and harps in this, very moody, perfectly fitting for some kind of dark cave. Lovely moody chords, really amps up the feeling from the original. Makes it into some kind of spooky dystopia. There isn't really much problems i'm finding with this, because the arrange is pretty awesome, love how it goes from quiet into epic, in the span of 6 minutes. Really amps up into a battle fight. The one critique i have, is polishing really. I feel like it could be cleaned up in areas, give room for certain sounds, but that's about it. The whole thing was super nice, great build-up and climax. Well done!
