I thought the last two minutes of PlanarianHugger's piece more than made up for the boring first half of the song and the lack of instrument variation.

As for Kapden's piece, it was very short and I don't like when tracks fade out.

Spread Bomb or Photon Torpedo? - I really liked the piano (or is it actually a synth?). It could've used a little velocity "humanization" to accent some of the notes to give it a bit more rhythm. I really liked the bit were it was a little chopped off. Overall the mood of the piece is really nice, floaty and soaring. The combination of instruments was good on piano/lead/pad department. Nice filtering etc. Drums were kind of bland. Bass was quite plodding and I didn't find the sound a very good compliment to the rest of the soundscape. I wished that a more driving, say synth bass line would start and start pushing the piece forwards. All in all, a fairly enjoyable track with some great elements.

Super Bomberhobbit 3 - Kudos for using all the sources! There is conflict between them audible in the arrangement though. Nice slowing-down of the Gradius theme. The soundscape has nice ambient-y elements, though different instruments are fighting each other for EQ space, especially the background pad I think, which is nice but could be pushed back in the mix (the conflicting frequencies at least).

Super Bomberman <3 stage <3 - Nice steady beat. Short but cool. I feel all the elements are all playing loudly and don't give room to each other. When there's more than three things going on it gets really crowded in the arrangement; I think they house-y chords are the main culprit. Still, the concept is very cool and I liked hearing that.

Nathanial Passmore - Nice style, I appreciated the bells in the background and the ending the most.
Kapden - Short, but I like what you did here. I enjoyed the bassline.
PlanarianHugger - Great job by mixing all sources together, it must have been a tough challenge. Really enjoyed how you did this.

Nathaniel's definitely felt the most cohesive of the three mixes. Mellow and flowing instrumentation with a light soundscape. If I had to criticize one part, it would be the drum mixing and writing, since this piece is so parts-lite it stands out a bit.

Planarian; you bent over backwards to fit everything together, but the static nature of the instrumentation really didn't make it feel like an arrangement that was moving to new places. I feel like the piece dragged a ton until it got to part C where it felt some life. It might also be that what I would consider the melody seemed to be overpowered by harmonic elements. There's a lot going on, it just needs a bit of work to sort out.

Kapden: Short sweet, but doesn't stray terribly far from its source. Not a whole lot to say. I felt you used the fast decay punctuated chords worked well giving it a groove not quite present in the original.

Nathanielpassmore - Like the space atmosphere feel to it. Drums sound a bit too loud and don't fit well with the rest of the song. Intro lasted to long with out much changes. I liked the glitch sound before the main melody came in but would have liked it if it had came back later on.

Kapden - This is great. The instruments work with each other and are helped by the drums. I really liked the piano and the effect placed on it that comes in after the bass at the beginning. I wish it was longer and played with the source more. Good job.

PanarianHuggers composition seems like he put a lot of time into it and I like that, effort should definitely be rewarded. Plus he used all the sources which is pretty cool. Also it was loud, which means mixing toward a 0 db mark which is great, but the synth did overpower as it added more and more notes.

Nathanielpassmores mix was cool, I liked that he kept the original beat, but made it more smooth and fit together nicely. Kick may have been repetitive and would have been nice to see some diversity, but I think it worked for what it was!
