I think that Jerry Terry had the better arrangment, and his remix was very fluid. I like his use of instrumentation, and it keeps things interesting. Mokram's feels a little long, although I feel Mokram made the best use of the source.

Divinewrath's piece was epic. Though it kinda went off on a tangent, it was one hell of a kickass tangent!

I also liked the somewhat sombre-ness (if that's a word) of DjMokrams piece.

They contrast quite a lot with each other, DjM choosing a more mellow and serious route, while DW chose a more energetic and 'kickass' route.
It just so happens that today I'm in an ass-kicking mood, so I vote for DW.

DjMokram - The production on this is weak but it interprets the original material in a distinctive manner and has the right length given the source and style.

divinewrath - Conventional rock interpretation that is very well performed and produced but endures a tediously long bridge that does not complement the original in an effective manner.

JerryTerry - More additive than interpretative, but I do like what was added; the pipe organ reminds me of the Bible Black theme. A bit too basic/repetitive to compete with the others but an encouraging first (game?) remix.

JerryTerry - The start is nice, I like the 'guitar' which makes the song start. The song is a nice mix between rock and orchestra. The choir fits good. For the rest there's not much variation. I like the last part.
Divinewrath - Excellent intro. The Megaman song is only in the first part. This is a really nice rock mix, it's a bit long and noisy but it's very interesting.
DjMokram - Calm start. I like the way you variate with the source. The samples are nice, but I don't like the kick very much. The last part is different but good.

Close voting, I took a day to decide.

Divine's track has the best energy and dynamic contrast between sections. The raw feel is pretty solid all around.

DjMokram: Echo on the piano is a little bit sloppy in execution in the beginning 15 seconds. I like the chill groove you have going on. Backing piano at 1:20 could be brought out more (I would suggest even putting it in a different timbre). Piano echo towards the end got sloppy again.

JerryTerry: The instruments you use sound pretty lofi and the 40 second intro seems a bit long. Your string synths could be improved in their placement by shortening their attack times as they lag a bit behind at the present.

1-Divinewrath: great work on the composition, feels epic to me and lots of variety.
2-Mokram: soft and nice change of pace, could have more depth, but it was very nice I will listen more in the future for sure.
3-JerryTerry: First remix? Nice work! love the phantom of the opera feel.

-Round 159-

1st place - Jerry Terry:
For a first VGremix, I think JT took a lot of risks and went with some unexpected choices.
The organ for instance, was ingenious, and the chorus quite majestic.
It turned out for the best, though I won't elaborate on sound quality, as it's obvious the mix could have been improved.
It's a fairly straight song, well structured and to the point.
And while the guitar parts don't match the quality of Divinewrath's entry, JT manages to deliver an uncommon take on the source.
Enjoyed it a lot. Keep at it.

2nd place - Divinewrath:
A wonderful rock take, well executed and full of energy.
Everything we've come to expect from a great Megaman remix.
Then why isn't it in first place? Because imo, DW chose the easy way out.
Due to the versatility of the guitar, it's tempting to build an entire song mainly on that instrument.
It almost even a tradition to remix that way.
Don't get me wrong: the source is well used, and the additional material is solid.
It's just that when I come across someone this proficient in a genre, I expect this person to go beyond his/her instrument, out of the comfort zone.
I was expecting something more, well... unexpected.
But then again that's my personal bias, and it doesn't take anything off of DW's performance, which was brillant.
Surprise us more next time! ;)
