Binweasel - Nice genre. It's variating a lot and it has a nice balance. I don't like the background kick.
Setokaibarocket - The song has variation, I like the background sampling a lot and the rapping is good as well.
DJMorkam - Interesting song. The song is short, but I like the Indianese feeling of it.
GLL - I like the samples you used, it's a very interesting song, but it misses a little variation in sampling and it has a long end.

GLL delivers a surprising rendition in a musical style I usually hate. His song had the most complete approach, from start to finish.
Binweasel got me with this tango-jazz-western mayhem! Sound quality was lacking a bit sometimes, so second place.
Setokaibarocket's song was fun (in a good way). Despite the unchanged structure, I don't know if the funy approach was intended, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Sorry, really no time at all to do a proper review. I'll make it up some other voting round.

#1 Binweasel, for having a very creative arrangement and using the source tune effectively.

#2 DJ Mokram, would have voted you first if I had heard more of the source tune. Arrangement is very nice to listen to and has a lot going on. It sounds convincing enough to me like you're very familiar with this particular genre.

#3 setokaibarocket, I hip hop thing in the beginning was really annoying. The techno part is poorly mixed with really cheesy sounding synths. I think you could have spent a lot more work on this song getting it to sound better.

Binweasel's mix had some really good arrangement in it, but I found Ghetto Lee's to sound the best, a solid trance mix.

I didn't really like either of the others.

Very impressive entries, guys. I had a really hard time deciding.
1. Unrequited Love - Nice arrangement. Samples sound a bit mechanical, but they're not horrible by any stretch.

2. Revenge Of The Saw Waves - Although it feels a little repetitive at times, it's still pretty great. Nice work.

3. Miracle Fassad Smiles Bollywoodly - What you have is really good, but I would have liked it more if it was a little longer and had a proper ending.

4. March of the Insane Clown Posse - I like the style you went with, and the vocal clips work pretty well in the context. If you had used more than that one riff from the source, I would have ranked you higher, for sure.

Bin's take was my personal favorite, so it earns bonus points in arrangement land. Sound quality on the leads and synthbrass almost kicked this one down, but it's a good listen. A little more polish on the production side and this would have taken it hands down.

GLL takes second with a well done if drawn out trance adaptation. Nothing sticks out as overly bad, but the background bass repetition and the somewhat sharp/piercing leads stick out and jump into the realm of annoyance at point.

The relaxed tune of DJMokram prevailed predominantly due to the laid back nature and fun ethnic percussion. I might have done a little less with the triangle hit since it is a little invasive.

Seto- the middle with the hollow sounding lead was the best part of your piece, and if there had been more going on it could have been great. As it is, the piece sounds so bare that I couldn't find it within myself to place you.

DjMokram: Haha, excellent, nice reinterpretation =p not a lot I can pick on, heh.

Binweasel: Hehe, quite a mash of genres here, lol =P Comes together as a (more or less) coherent whole though, and is rather entertaining, well done =) The added original melodies are also well implemented.

GLL: Quite impressive considering the samples and synths you've used, shame it seems to clip a bit and the saws have too much treble, which makes my brain feel sore.. Still, aside from these mastering issues, its been tranced up fairly well =p Doesn't have a great deal of melodic interpretation/variation from the original, but I'm one to talk with my short hurried mix, haha

"Unrequited" has a lot of fun arrangement for various instruments, and thorough interpretation of the source. The half-time chorus (?) that is played the last minute is fabulous. The downside is the weak midish samples. I also feel like the structure could use a dash more of that first part. But the bottom line is that I enjoy this piece more and more each listen. Good stuff!

"REVENGE" was pretty complete as a piece, although there was some plain cut-n-paste repetition towards the end. I loved the little pause before each melodic phrase - it's very "hilighted" in your version. I like the oscillating bassline, most of the sounds actually. Drums were weak, although I appreciate all the different hihat lines. Could have done more there I think! And the sounds were plain. But overall a good track and a good interpretation.

"Miracle" was definitely a good interpretation as well. :) I love the percussion. Main weakness - it's way short, merely a sketch. I think you bend the material at the end of the chorus nicely.

"March" was also a sketch, it's a fun track. I'm not fond of the use of vocal clips, it's kind of cheap. But it's fun. This is like a proof of concept.

Last minute vote time!!

So yes, I would have loved to hear what GLL's circle of friends and DZComposer would have come up with, but anyway, I'm satisfied with how this PRC managed to come out. Let me get to the vote.

I had difficulty over the past few days picking first place between Binweasel's entry and GLL's. In the end, "Unrequited Love" got first place for me - fleshed out into a very tasteful arrangement that somehow reminds me more of Fassad's cruel treatment of Salsa, so I see the sweet approach taken on that part. You need to be more careful with how you write your basslines though - much like with the ToS entry back in PRC119 it could tend to be a little over-randomized, but I see you're improving there. Nice work, Weas!

GLL's mix had the epic trance factor to it, so it's obvious that people would favor it more due to fondness of the source's techno remix in SSBB. I liked it too, hence the struggle for wondering to favor it for 1st place or not, but due to being conservative with the source material in comparison to some of the other entries, I've had to place it into 2nd place. It's not bad for a rushed effort, GLL - quick, fix it up to how you originally invisioned it and submit it to R:TS :D

And DjMokram's entry got my 3rd place. Ridiculously short in comparison to the others though (in fact it's comparable more to a videogame OST track in terms of length), but what was there was a very cool attempt at a genre that's otherwise undercovered in the remix community. I see potential, so keep up the effort :)

Sorry seto, but you lost out on my vote this time. I like what you do with the trance and different sub-genres thereof, but in a plentiful contest like this, now's more of the time to explore on structuring and spicing up the arrangement. I think you and GLL would get on well though, you might learn a few things from the vets out there :)
