Rexy - This song starts slow, but it sure has quality. I like the balance between the synths and bassline. The sample variation is very good, but the song isn't variating much. The song is long, but very good.
Retsej - Strong beginning, nice instruments. Some of them are a bit too hard and dominant. I don't like the drumline. I like the parts you added to the song.

Both arrangements are great. Kudos to both of you.

Second and third place was a little more difficult to choose...I was having trouble figuring out a justification that made sense.
Basically, Retsej's was less interpretive, but still sounded great. The main thing was that his entry was a little more enjoyable to listen to.
Chickenwarlord showed some improvement sound-quality-wise and offered some cool interpretations, but just wasn't quite as entertaining, I guess.

Earth and Fire is nice but is a bit too much like the original i feel, and some of the instruments (in particular that trumpet/french horn brass) sound very sharp and synthetic. Otherwise I liked it.
Relic is kinda nice but doesn't use enough of the source tune and is rather short.

Retsej's track is a bit of a fickle bag; it has a few areas that ended up making it sound like it copied the feel right out of the original track, yet there was still enough interpretation in various areas to sound distinguished. Upon first listen I also ended up feeling that some of the lower-register movements like any tuba/trombone tracks ended up making things sound a little muddy as far as the presentation went but as listens continued I started to adapt to it a bit more. I can also say that the sample bank is very rich for a PRC contestant, so that's a plus; keep on experimenting with the manipulation of the sound (especially with dealing with good dynamics in velocity and attack) and I'm sure we can see some more/equally polished material in the future.
So yeah, when weighing everything up I seemed to feel that Retsej would get my higher rank vote here. There we go.
