I was away for this one, so i didn't get to submit my entry, but the next day i did use the images to make something, and you can listen to it in the sharing off tab in the ThaSauce discord. It was done on a 90 minute timer, with like 6 minutes to spare or something. Either way onto the entries!
DarkShadow - Thick bass sounds, going all square wave for this one. It has a very oldschool 8-bit sound to it, even if the actual sounds are more modular in nature. This one is very augemented heavy, not much of a coherant melody, more experimental. Not my favourite from you, but i do appreciate these unique beats. Good job!
Darg0000 - Welcome new person, i can be critical in my assesments here, but i still love each entry despite that. I like the piano and deep guitar here, it gives a bit of a proto-grunge type of feel, with strings that would also work for a video game soundtrack. The idea melodic is honestly perfect, just a couple things for me. The track is on the quiet end, but that's ok. Majority of the sounds could benefit from more reverb and articulation, as to me it sounds quite mechanical and stiff. I also didn't detect a kickdrum here, but i assume it's intentional. Honestly the composition was there, it was mostly a cleanup thing. Good job!
DDRKirby(ISQ) - These are some smooth chords if i've ever heard it. It has a lot of atmospheric space, like i'm in a colourful cave or something. You've made DnB before, but this one is straight up 90's jungle. I feel like were in that N64 racing game era, even if the amtosphere is like a cave. You say it's minimal, and whilst it is deep and emphasising on soft sounds, i'd hardly call it minimal personally, just smooth. You really do like your breaks here, i detected liked 4 alone lol. This is super different than your normal style, and it's sooo good. This is just a perfectly mixed piece, with so many great melodic elements. It was so good i placed it on the top spot, incredible work!
Arcana - Ooh interesting shuffle rhythms. Even though the track was done in a 4/4 style, i detect a few off-kilter kick and snares here that sort of go into a shuffle beat. Only towards the end, do we really hear the extent of the shuffle rhythm. The beat is really catchy, and the chord progression is sick. Honestly the track is basically there, your vocal effects were fire, and the arrangement was sick. The vocals at the end were a tiny bit hard to identify, due to the rest being a little more upfront, but i'm nitpicking. Honestly i'll give you this one, it was actually fire man. It was so good i placed it 2nd, amazing work!
A2Z - Ok i'm sold, those chords are my weakness. It's giving oldschool racing game, and i love it. This beat isn't that disimilar to DDR's to be honest, just your's is more rave stab coded. The melodies are kind of a mix of happy and uncertain i like it. Some crashes could benefit from being toned down so it's not too loud, but the mix overal is really nice. The lead melody is very shrill though, it needs to be toned down a lot. The melodies and arrangement are wonderful, just some parts really need mixing better personally sorry. Still though, good job!
Wassup Thunder - Interesting beat from you, i don't other hear something like this from you. It's still electronic coded, but we got a more minimal-ish techno style going on, compared to what you usually make which is eurobeat. I dig it, it sounds very cold and distant, and the melodies are kind of warm, but kind of other-worldly. This one has a bit of a slow progression, we don't really hear it devlop until the middle, but that's ok, the track is of a different style. Mixing is really great, honestly i couldn't find much to critique here, it's such a fire tune. It was so good i placed it third, amazing work!
Relax.D - Some very funky beats here, with one wild hi-hat. The track sounds very lo-fi like it's been put through a coffee filter, it's strange but not unlistenable, just unique. The vocals are great, but very close to the mic, it's muffled. The track feels very deliberately lo-fi like a demo, but in a good way. I don't know, it's not what i think when i see the images, but i like it nonetheless. I'll give you it, i found more to like than dislike. Well done!
