TheVideoGamer - This track is esentially minimal techno, or at least minimal techno with a lot of dark ambience. I've done tracks of an identical nature before, but maybe with this one containing more arps and pad chords. Throughout the 6 minutes you hear stuff being woven in and out, whether it's pad chords with automation, various sound effects soaked in reverb, ranging from white noise to drum hits, or a vocal sample that says "Hello, can you hear me" just to add to the suspense of the theme. Even if the theme is of an old style castle, i wanted to amp up the eerie horror nature of it all. The arp is just a sample sped up, and that runs on for roughly the last 2 minutes of the track. All in all, it's a very simple concept, but i think it works. Oh well, glad you liked it!
DarkShadow - This one is different from your usual style. It's not as intense, and it's more darker and eerie. The arps are not intense, even if it's got the usual chiptune, and the beats are more lo-fi i really dig it. The ending is pretty glitchy and all over the place, i really like it. It's pretty cool. Maybe not my personal favourite from you, i felt there was room for more smoothing, but the idea was great. Good job!
A2Z - Love me a good string section, it's very haunting. It's super creepy, like were in a Luigi's Mansion type game. The only thing i will say, is the strings could be a bit more natural sounding. Some of the melodies feel a tiny bit stiff, but this is me being nitpicky. This is especially aparrent with the Pizz towards the end, it just feels one note. But if we judge purely on the melodies it's awesome, and for that reason i will give it to you. Well done!
DDRKirby(ISQ) - That intro is giving of Michael Jackson vibes lol. Beat it, beat it! The beats are quite funky, i totally feel like this could fit in a Streets of Rage level, especially with some of the funky riffs. It's quite reverb heavy compared to your normal tracks, but i think this works to the theme's advantage, and it's still perfectly mixed all things considered. The main melody here is very catchy. It's just an absolutely wonderful piece, no notes to say here, it was so good i placed you on the top spot, incredible work!
Wassup Thunder - Really liking the church bells, great for theme atmosphere. The intro is super eerie and dark. The organ is giving of Castlevania vibes, like i shouldn't be here. It's super dark and creepy, with some great melody ideas. It's a slow evolving piece, stuff is getting add at a time, and i really love it. I was not expecting the drums in the 2nd half, i assumed it was gonna be purely orchestral/ambient, but drums are appreciated. It starts to get more industrial at the end, slightly cyberpunky, yet the eeriness hasn't gone away. Honestly it's a really great piece, i love it. It was so good i decided to place you 2nd, amazing work!
Meistr - Appreciate a good collab when i see it. Also going for that choir and organ intro, but this time with more of an edgy EDM attitude. My god though this is loud. I know i do loud stuff do, but i have to be fair and honest, and this needs to be toned down a bit. The melodies are catchy as is the bass tones, but it feels super compressed, boderline clipping. The ending with the dubstep stuff is just amazing, the idea on this track is just so good, but a-las it's brickwalled and loud. Sorry guys, but good job!
DarkMystery727 - Nice deep bass tones, the track could fit like a Mickey Mania game, it's not whimsical, but it has a bit of a cartoony horror aesthetic in parts. The vinyl crackle effect is really nice, and the glide on the synths was a great touch. The string work is very nice too, it's got all the makings of a really nice dark track, but without it being over the top. The atmopshere at the end is just nice. Nothing really else to say, it's a simple but effective track, definately voting worthy, awesome work!
Arcana - Really liking the space chords, and the melody is really nice. Not creepy, but more like were in space, but that's ok. The drums are great too, the swing on the hi-hats is a great touch. The track as a whole is really nice mix wise, bar a few things. I personally think the bass is a bit overpowering, and towards the end it gets a bit clustered. There is a lack of space for each sound to breath, so it sounds like it's squished, but other than that the idea is really there. It has a lot of poential in my eyes, i love the sound. Good job!
Ethansight - Another set of lovely strings, with some great chords, in that classic Ethansight harmony. I love the delay on the plucked synths, it has an adventuerous feeling. The synths are short and juicy, i love them. I love the drop, it's not intense or anything, and one could argue the drums are almost non-existent, but the rest is just so nice. Smooth bass, and some lovely melodies. I really dig it, it's a great tune. It was so good i decided to place you third, amazing work!
