These are some thoughts I had about each track:

TheVideoGamer: I think this fits the theme pretty well despite you not knowing the theme. Very pleasant.

TheTaskmasta: Also very pleasant. I like this!

JH Sounds: It's interesting that both OHC90 and OHC900's themes have to do with boats.

cotmm68030: Interesting. I like where this is going. How did you manage to not only write a song in an hour, but also write and perform lyrics for it?

yamalbat: This fits what I was thinking of when I saw the theme. Very pleasant.

DarkShadow: I like the intensity of this.

A2Z: This is awesome. It feels like the game Tunic, but in space.

nukage: The room was definitely controlled. I like the little "vocal" bits. This was fun!

sci: Very pleasant.

Unknown Pseudoartist: Very interesting. I thought I knew where this was going and then guitars. Fun!

Xanthos: Interesting. There are so many different components to this, how did you manage to get it all done in an hour?

Meistr: Fascinating. How did they get there? What happens next? What are the voices?

Silverpool64 (me :) : I'm very happy with how this turned out! I was focusing on trying to get the soundscape right. I feel like the arrangement could have been improved and I wish I had more time to expand on it and flesh out some of the sounds. Maybe I'll release an extended version.

Suzumebachi: This is fun. I love all of the sounds.

Misael.K: Very pleasant. It feels like the credits to something.

DDRKirby(ISQ): This is awesome! It makes me feel like life is going up.

Lyra_183: This is cool!

mcmiagblackmanisgod: This review is sponsored by Raid Shadow Legends... I mean, the track was interesting. There's a lot going on and I'm amazed you got it all done in an hour, but I guess the sponsorships help with that. :)

upd|ate!: This didn't go how I thought it would, more and more stuff kept showing up. It's pretty cool!

Arcana: Interesting. I like how the lyrics tie into the theme.

bjkmenu: This is fun!

jmr: This got my head bobbing. I wish it was longer.

starla: Very pleasant.

TVG: Really liked the airy sound, the chiptune melodies, and the overall ambiance. Very lush and full sounding, with good chords and sound design. I really like the thick reverb and the long tail, it gives it a great vibe.

TVG2: Glad that you also squeezed in a drum-based track, it isn't quite TVG without a cool sampled drum loop. Sounds like it was pitched down (through tape effect?) which gives it all a

JH Sounds: Good narration! Coincidence? Good eye.

cotmm: Your vocals are super clear despite the heavy industrial backing track. This has a genius mix. Everything is super balanced in this one, it sounds so great.

yamalbat: Welcome in, glad to hear you. Everything sounds somber and emotional in this one. I liked the really distant piano, it adds a melancholy air to things and the repeated notes give me that tense feeling. The high struck instrument (vibraphone?) is a great addition.

DarkShadow: I really have enjoyed hearing you branch out in all of these songs, DarkShadow. There's more sections, more changes in mood, and different sounds, and the diversity is really interesting. This one in particular has a cool groove, then gets into huge deep kick, and those tense stabs in the middle! I really enjoyed the dynamic changes in this one.

A2Z: Really lovely sound design. That reverb pad adds so much nice low-end and rounds things out. The satisfying swell! Great arp. Really cool even if it is short.

nukage: Really nice hard-hitting DnB breaks with a nice cool aggressive bass. The snare sounds great, the bass is really cool. Maybe a tad loud but that's a nitpick. The pad sound has a nice rhythmic quality to it. Really nice use of spacing in the rhythm - there's just enough space in between elements in the groove so that each hit SLAPS. This is cool stuff.

sci: Really uplifting chiptune with a ton of glitch, sample-rate reduction, and filtering. I like the emphasis on the effects and the slow tape-driven pitch adjustments, and especially how the melody stays steady while it's the backing elements that get distorted, which allows the listener to fixate on the steady melody yet absorb the strangeness of the background.

Unknown Pseudoartist: This is like, orchestral chiptune. The choir vox sounds good and I liked the heavy verb on the chip elements because it really adds to that "space" effect. The drums sound really good and things were just getting heavy at the end, which I think is a good transition.

Xantos: This has a psychadelic feel to it, it's feeling kind of live and dynamic in an improvised way and that's interesting. The middle introduces a welcome change, though I felt that the main "riff" should drop out at some point and give some contrast. Each individual loop sounds really nice as well and creates a kind of countermelody.

Meistr: Nice beats and bass. Really great sound, the voice acting and singing is really on point in this one, like you sound like a pro. I think the repeat unfortunately takes away some of the effect (since it's an exact repeat) but I think if this was a real production you'd have a different set of lines and that would have been amazing.

Silverpool64: Gentle and reflective chiptunes are always nice to hear in this competition. I enjoyed it especially as it was starting to ramp up with the percussion at the end.

Suzumebachi: Nice upbeat chiptune, arps are on point with this one and the slides are awesome too. I like the super jazzy melody, lots of implication and suspensions here that are quite virtuostic.

Misael.K: Welcome back Misael, it's been a while. This is kind of lofi, reflective, lots of good slow melodies and really nice sounding tones. Has an organic, kind of live-sound/played here feeling to it. I liked the deep reverb on this that emphasize that lofi feeling.

DDRKirby(ISQ): Super cool beats, nice development, with some nice changes from rhythm section that leads into a nice long build into a strong melody and fun harmony. The fill details are great, the loudness is good, and changes are well-timed in this one.

Lyra_183: You sing really well. Things are on time, your voice has nice punch and support. I find it really fascinating that you have like an entire song, with multiple verses and a bridge, too. It's a lot. Great lyrics. The ending bridge is catchy.

mcmiagblackmanisgod: I really like the chaotic vibe of this. Dub vibes, as usual. The distant echo/cries and other voices are a good addition to make things sound kind of real but also kind of spacey. I'm tripping.

upd|ate: This is super jazzy and it's cool. the groove here is cool between the acoustic upright and the electronic bass and the drums. Has a kind of acid jazz feel-ish. This is really interesting for its uniqueness in general.

Arcana: This is my track.

bjkmenu: I really like the organic and live feeling of this. The lead guitar tone is solid, I enjoyed that breakdown at the start into the chiptune section that got kind of chaotic as a change up. Then it kinda gets strange but we don't lose the energy in the drums. If you one day put lyrics to this, this could be like, part of a musical, since it goes places.

jmr: Heavy drums and beats gives this a big sound, like that big space marine military vibe or something. That lead goes places, nice soloing on it!

starla: That pad is all swirly and I'm like wooo. When things stabilize and we hear the harmonization, it feels really really satisfying. That shift from the dissonant and unstable to the consonant is really like a moment here.

All comments are replied to on Discord. Normally i join in, but i was away, so the best i could do was send in 2 pre-made beats, which ties to the milestone, however sadly it didn't fit the theme. Luckily Starla was cool with it, which i'm glad. Onto the voting!

TheVideoGamer - So the problem was, that for this compo i was away, as i had an event on. It isn't work related, but it was something i couldn't cancel due to it being booked in advanced, and since i was staying over with people, i couldn't make anything or do anything without risking waking anyone up, so i was secretly waiting until 2 before i just uploaded both beats. It does come across as unethical, but it would be a crime to have a milestone and me not show up, and luckily Starla was more than ok with it (Which is a testament to how damn cool you people are). This one if you are unfamiliar with the TVG lore, is a reworking of a track made in round 640, which began as this ridiculous fast, borderline silly gabber track, during a time where i made the most stupidest beats known to man. I was an anything goes kind of person. This doesn't really happen now, both due to me focusing on a well rounded beat, and also so i don't take the piss. Sometimes i might mess with people if i'm struggling, however 99 percent of the time, i'm genuinly using my time to come up with a sick banger, or a nice melodic piece, whatever it may be. The original track was called Stratosphere due to the nature of the theme, and was just me trying to blend super atmopsheric and melodic parts with extremely fast violent gabber beats. Since then in subsequent versions, i've moved into various other directions. I've done it as a downtempo piece, a piano piece, and even just a general Ambient piece. I like it because i can take it in all sorts of directions, and have it sound pretty good. This one has all the same melodic ideas, including the melody from the 800 remix, but done in a slow ambient style. I also included a chord progression variant in the middle to keep it interesting. It's a cool take for sure, glad you liked it!

ThaTaskmasta - Because one is not enough, i had a fun idea to make a vapourwave version. And i did so by using my 800th remix (Entitled the Down to Earth mix), slowed it down significantly, and reverbed it to death. I then did a fade in and fade out, with the last 30 seconds being a shout out. This is precisely why i didn't want to pass on the opportunity, as i wanted to make it known just how amazing of a community you are. You genuinely make me so happy, and the amount of fun i have cannot be understated. This is why i am grateful to be given the opportunity to participate. The track is simple, but it's worth it for the message. Thanks for the love people, you are awesome. Here's to OHC 1000!

JH Sounds - I wasn't here back in the day, when you were doing it, but like others i felt the nostalgia in the narration. Sadly...i can't really judge this, because it's theme narration and not actual music, but i did appreciate you joining. Good job!

cotmm68030 - Welcome back man, i expect a few oldschool people to return here. This is as NIN it gets. Extremely dark vocals, with intense distortion, and some killer bitcrushed drums, with a very dark pad. The track is not as noticable in the groove department, the drums are super light, but it adds a lot to the sound. I couldn't really find anything bad about this one, it was fire. Could have voted for this, but sadly i only have 3 to choose from. Awesome work!

Yamalbat - Welcome! This is the first time i've heard your tracks, and so far this is great! Loving the strings and piano combo, we got a cinematic vibe going, but with lots of spacious reverb to make it sound watery. I like how slow evolving it is, there is small sounds being added that makes it more dynamic. I do wish the strings were more spaced out, not so close together, but the arrangement is beautiful. You manage to keep 4 chords interesting throughout. The spicy notes towards the end are just cool. Can't say anything else, it's just fire. I will give you this one, in fact it was way too good, i placed it 2nd. Incredible work!

DarkShadow - Man going from that calming piece to this loud banger really took me by suprise. I know you make loud music, and that's not a bad thing, but this is wayyyyy too compressed. Everything is pushed so hard, i feel like it's overblown. Shame the chord progression is extremely interesting. Lots of potential here, good job!

A2Z - Nice smooth melodies here. Got a mild trance-ish vibe going on, with a tiny bit of 80's influence. I like the beat here, it's super spacious like it's out in the distance. This one required a few repeats to process it, it's quite short. The arp is super cool, and the atmosphere is interesting. The idea is great, i couldn't really find much fault in the mixing (Maybe the crash cymbals a tad bit loud, but that's it), just that it's way too short. Well done!

Nukage - First in a long time seeing 23 entries, just like old times lol. Cool stuttered chords, this is already hyping me up. The buildup and drop is immediate, i didn't even get a chance to process it all heh. The drop is excellent, the mix is super hard and dirty. The growls are awesome, the sound design is killer. It doesn't matter if it's a preset or not, the mix is so good. Sometimes you can make it too loud, but this is just perfection. Nothing else to say, it's excellent. Could have voted for this, but sadly i only have 3 to choose from. Amazing work!

Sci - Sci is back for the anual milestone appearance. Interesting chords, got a sort of hopeful optimism going on. The sounds themselves are more on the oldschool side, with a mix of FM and 80's keyboards. I appreciate the honesty in the description, the track does sound quite massive, with parts a tad bit overblown personally. Some parts of the bass have a nice glide, it makes for a bit of funkiness. Some parts of the track are a tiny bit detuned, but nothing too out of the blue. I do wish there was a tiny bit of smoothing, the track feels louder than it needs to be. Overall though, the melodies are killer, the flutes are great. It has potential, good job!

Unknown Pseudoartist - Liking that intro sound, feels like a mild explosion. Strings are super haunting, like were in an Assasains Creed game, but with a horror edge. I like the sound effects that pop in and out, it makes for a spooky but eerie hitting listen. The transition into the metal parts was killer, you gave hints on where the direction was gonna go, and then it drops. Problem is though, you drop it for like 10 seconds, and then the piece ends. I was hoping for more of that, instead of ending it as it begins. The track overal is really great, but i would add a tiny bit of velocity to the drums, just to keep the realism aspect. Still though, this idea is great, i see a lot of potential. Good job!

Xanthos - Long player man returns too. So many classic faces, i really feel old at this point. This is also a fire flute melody, that seems to be blended with a marimba, making for a really nice dark melody. With the direction of the melody, i assumed more trap stuff, but no, we went for a downtempo beat instead, that's interesting. Your tracks feel like it's all live, but with finesse. The array of melodies here make it super interesting, as they're not all in the same key, yet it's not dissonant. The level of variety for the link is not to be ignored too. I loved all 5 minutes of it, with lots of great melody and beat changes. I like how you keep the main riff going throughout, yet i don't feel tired or bored. Honestly this is just great, i'll definately give you this one. It was so good, i decided to place it third, incredible work!

Meistr - Cool futuristic chords, were on a spaceship here, which makes sense given the theme. The drums were unexpected, usually there's a buildup, but in this case it's sudden. For the intro part especially, i hoped for a louder tight snare, but this is good too. I assumed it was gonna be dubstep, but the downtempo-like vibe is great either way. I love the breakdown and buildup back into the drop, really nice vibe. I think a stronger bass could also work here, but the track as a whole is really nicely mixed. I think there is potential here, yet at the same token, there was more to like than dislike, so i will give you this one. Well done!

Silverpool64 - Woah Silverpool is here! It's been ages, hope you are doing well. Really like the square wave and pad sound, has that PS1 atmosphere, but with a tiny bit of modern production. Like the synthetic EP sound, it's part ambient, part dark. I think some pad chords, and maybe a bell sound, could make this really nice, at the moment there's a tiny bit missing. The drums at the end were fine, but i felt this more as an ambient piece, than a techno-ish piece. Still though, it's a great idea, with a lot of potential. Good job!

Suzumebachi - Back to the NES days, not something i've heard in a while. The whole vibe is techno like, with a nice bassline and melody. I love how the whole track is following along the limitations of the NES. It's Joroen Tel all over this track, right down to the melody and beat. The track is just full of kickass melodies, even with the consistent groove. Absolutely fire, nothing else to say. Could have voted for this, but sadly i only have 3 to choose from. Amazing work!

Misael.K - Wow you're back, you have no idea how please i am to see you. Especially in health and happiness. Hopefully this will not be your last appearance, and you can come back to doing the ol' weekly compo. That guitar is really great, it's got some super funky notes, i love the spice. It's also super deep, like everything on the high-end is removed, and it's all low end. The drums are not super strong here, almost like it's a background element, which is different, as usually you make intense drums, but in this one, it's super light and delicate. You haven't lost the Misael sense of melody though, the track is relaxing but smooth. Weirdly i think the drums should be a bit more intense and louder, but aside from that, everything else was perfectly fine. Even the deep compressed guitar was a great addition here. Could have voted for this, but sadly i only have 3 to choose from. Awesome work!

DDRKirby(ISQ) - More 8-bit sounds. Or at least 9-bit, since we got that modern DDR production going on, plus the Speak and Spell vocals. This track is quite uplifting, which i haven't heard you go this uplifting in a while. Melody work is excellent work as usual, as is the drum work. Lots of killer arrangements, and interesting sounds. The risers are more utilized here, but nothing too overkill. The mix is just fire, i struggled to find anything bad here. Exceptional work, it was easily enough to get the top spot. Outstanding work!

Lyra_183 - Rare to hear Lyra this late lol. I'm digging this acapella, i love how you've maintained a solid rhythm, and a really coherant melody. I like the room tone here too. Honestly this is fire, nothing else to add. Solo acapellas are hard to judge, but this is great. Well done!

mcmiagblackmanisgod - Man i've been so used to 6-7 entries, that i'm actually tired at this point lol. But i must press on, in the name of TVG spirit. I need a quick VPN, and this won't cut it. Where's my Express VPN? Or my betterhelp? Or my Hellofresh? Or my Squarespace? Or my Brilliant? Lol anyways, this is some fire chops here, split into 2 parts. The first is a deep solo beat, with the ocasional vocal thrown in, then the 2nd part is more of a classic flip, with a soul sample and a softer but still hard hitting beat. Both were amazing, but i prefer the 2nd one more, due to it having more to it, but both are pleasent. This is great, well done!

Updlate - Man voting is gonna be insanely difficult, so much talent here. I'm a big sucker for 7th's and 9th's, this is some space chords if i've ever seen it. Those drums are really good, i don't often hear drums this natural, which convinces me this is actually live drums, or you've made some seriously good drum programming on a daw. The whole track reminds me of the works done by Andy Blythe & Marten Joustra, but in a more synthetic style. The jazz element is really well executed, however super unrealistic. The double bass parts would probably be super difficult to play, maybe impossible, and the drums would probably need a few people heh, but if we ignore the realism the track is fire. For someone who apparently has not made jazz before, this is amazing. Better than what i would do. The melodies are fine, so really it's the mixing touches i'd probably do to this. Largely the brass is super quiet in this, yet the bass and drums are insanely loud in comparison to the rest. The bass is thiccc, and the drums are super intense, thus drowning out the rest. I had to think this one through, and it's mixing that prevents it from the awesome category, sorry. Still though, the melodies absolutely rock. Good job!

Arcana - Nice percussion, really soft melodies, even if in a minor key. Liking the drums, feels kind of modular, but with more acoustic instruments. The vocals are really nice, although in parts it's a tiny bit soft, which indicate you might be a little too far away from the mic. I like the 2nd section, it makes it more intense, adds a cool arp, and the vocals are a tiny bit clearer, although the mic issue still exist like in the first part. Some parts of the melody in the synths are a tiny bit spicy, i think it might be out of key. Melody of the vocals are great though, no notes there. It has a lot of potential for me, it's really cool. Good job!

BJKMenu - Intense guitar work here, it's got a punk rock attitude, with a electro focus. It's like a 90's techno act making punk rock lol. It's super weird and whimsical, yet i dig it a lot. Each section is quick and fast, so i need to repeat the track a few times to process each section. The organ is interesting, when mixed with the electro beat, not often i would hear a 70's organ in a modern electro beat, but i like it. The track is really hard to follow along, i couldn't tell what section begins with what. It's just weird....maybe too weird lol. I like it though, it's super cool. Good job!

jmr - Another new person, welcome! (At least to me, i know you've appeared here before). This is a super interesting rock style. It has that 80's styled mixing, where it's all massive and huge, but with a lot of modern cyber melodies. It's futuristic, but also hard hitting...and extremely short too. The less music i get, the harder it is to process, which makes it harder to judge. What i've heard though is super cool, it's dark and brooding, but still intense. The melody towards the end, can be a tiny bit loud, but nothing too bad, this one is minor. Still though, sick idea, with a lot of potential. Good job!

Starla - And now for the final entry. Thank god, it's longer than i thought listening to all of these. That is one quiet waveform, but i understand you went for a different style here. I don't know if the warbly sound is intentional, it makes for a trippy psychedlic feel, which i like. When the drums come in, it all makes total sense, it's only at the beginning where it throws you off. The track has that oldschool FM meets modern house vibe going on. The singing is excellent, but it's hard to follow until the beat kicks in, because i think you're doing this trippy first part, into a more normal 2nd psrt. Either way, i had a lot more positive things to say than negative, it's a cool idea. Love this a lot, could have voted for this, but sadly i only have 3 to choose from. Amazing work!

Top 3 - DDRKirby(ISQ), Yamalbat, Xanthos

A milestone round, means more people, which i n turn makes voting extremely hard. These potential entries should have made the list, but couldn't because i can only pick 3:
