TheVideoGamer - This track is a trance number, but not a conventional trance number. Rather the tracks foundation is trance, but the chord progression and melody idead makes it more glitchy yet funky. The main progressions throughout are played on mostly sawtooth synths, whilst the rest is weird phased pads, thick basslines and pounding beats. There is also an arp to make it more electronic, and there is also syncopation in the beats to keep it groovy. It can be repetitive towards the end, but as is usual i ran out of time for a proper ending, so you get what you get. All in all i think it's pretty neat, even if not my most imaginative works. Oh well, glad you liked it anyways!
Wassup Thunder - Like the Boards of Canada title reference, although to be fair it could also be the colours of the rainbow. A rare case of Wassup going for an extremely long tail. 1:40 of music plus 1:40 of tail lol. The track in itself is sick, the melodies are catchy, and the synths are kind of 303 like. There is a lot of sick arrangement choices here, and it feels like the final boss of some video game. But i don't personally think of frantic eurobeat for this theme, and it can be a little bit too loud towards the end, but nothing too off-putting. I still felt it was enough for me to give you it though, so well done!
A2Z - I'm a sucker for that oldschool house chords, it's nostalgic. Extremely short entry, which is a shame, but what's provided is very catchy. Killer grooves, amazing kick, everything is just punchy and hard. Sadly this track is suited to something like 3 minutes, not 58 seconds sorry. It's too short for me to get anything meaningful out of it. Sorry man, good job!
Horneelectric - Using the whole kitchen for this entry heh. Kind of weird and wonderful, which fits my jam. The melodies are weird, but yet not dissonant, it blurs the line between tonal and atonal. The bongo work is really going to town, i dig the drums and syncopation. The sax solo is the best part, it really feels like it's expressive. It fits the strange nature of theme, and i found it quite catchy, not much problems here, amazing work!
DDRKirby(ISQ) - Chill atmospheric stuff from you. It really does feel like were underwater, which you know what that means. Bring on the Aquatic Ambience references! Drums are super intricate, lots of interesting sounds and licks here. I like how the claps indicates half-time, but the drums are sort of normal time. FM Bass for the win, brings out the 90's Mega Drive aesthetic. There is a lot going on here, even more so than your usual entries, the drum machine is emphasised, and the melody is very thick and wide, but it's still awesome either way. Absolutely lovely entry, enough for the 3rd spot, incredible work!
DarkShadow - Late entry by DarkShadow standards heh. Lots of thick bass works here, i think of the Castlevania remix from Contra: The Hard Corps (The secret bonus level). There is a lot of computerised noises here, more so than a typical DarkShadow entry, but i don't hate it, it's interesting. I wouldn't think it was too tonal, it can be a hard one define, but the beat was interesting and solid, and the sound design was great! Good job!
Nukage - Starting hard, and we don't even have the buildup. The synth sort of has the qualities of a guitar, yet it's not really a guitar (Unless i'm wrong). The drop is amazing, i know you make some fire drops, but this one is especially good. I always keep forgetting these are presets, because the sound design is just amazing. It's hard to critique on it, when the sounds are just exceptionally well made. I'd argue this is your catchiest drop today, the quality is unreal. Amazing track as always, i loved it, so much so i placed it 2nd, incredible work!
BJKMenu - Organ work is crazy, and so is the bassline. You really know how to make catchy basslines. The organ is really short and snappy, so it leads to some sick chord work. In a way we sort of go in a 12 bar blues riff, but it's not, it just reminds me of that style. The organ is really the star of the show, as we are missing a melody. A melody could take this to the next level, as could a proper ending lol. Abrupt ending could not be more clearer heh. I like it though, it has potential, it just needs a tiny bit of smoothing. Good job!
Arcana - Sick swing grooves here, it's catchy. Kind of got a mild electro swing going on here. Some parts of the track seem off. Almost like there is a bit of a delay in the pattern. It makes it seem like it's clipping when there isn't any. But the track itself is really nice, great chords and beats. The synths are really cool, it's got a great progression. The vocals at the end were quite spicy for my liking, almost a key above the songs key. But the track has potential i really like it, it's very cool. Good job!
Ethansight - Ethan knows how to tempt me with his chords. Chords are just killer as always, and it's laidened with tasty reverb. I love how whimsical it sounds, but in a jazzy way, lots of great mixing choices too! Parts of the track remind me of Misael.K, the melody is absolutely fire. This is some quality EDM, with some killer kick patterns, great synths, and a killer arrangement. Nothing else to say, i loved it, so much so i placed it on the top spot, incredible work!
