DarkShadow - I liked the change of rhythms in the middle section.

DDRKirby - Great synth sounds! I really liked the vocal synths early on too. Great beats overall.

Meistr - Great vocals! The build near the end for the drop was nicely done. Great bass line at the end too.

A2Z - Fun title! It's got a lot of energy. I liked that melody in the middle section.

nextGenNick - The guitars sound great! Nice upbeat yet chill sound. I think it would sound great a bit louder.

obScene - This really developed well! I like the chord progression. I can really feel the anticipation growing as it progresses. I really liked the flute parts in the middle.

nukage - Great intro section! I loved the energy when the beat hits. The glitch effects were fun. The wubs were really nice too!

Arcana - I liked the beat. Very nice melody! The vocals were layered nicely. I liked the guitars that came in later as well. I liked the horns at the end too. Maybe the quality of the tone fades a bit at the end, but it added a nice sound.

coloradoweeks - Nice title! The lyrics are really fun and fit the theme really well! I like the happy upbeat feel of the song. Hilarious ending!

ethansight - Nice ambient sounds! The synth lead is so smooth! I liked the jazzy feel.

Hey all, i wasn't here this round, because sadly i had come back from a long trip, so effectively there's jetlag, plus i was feeling under the weather, because of course. Me and my flu never seem to seperate lol. So whilst i appeared i was hyped for compo, i ended up actually ditching about 15 minutes into the project because i was tired, and went to bed. I tried to follow the next day like i do normally, but alas, the intense fatigue brought on by flu amongst others prevented me from actively sitting down and cooking up something. It was only around Sunday i finally got something in, using the timer, in which i finished with 3 minutes to spare. If you want to hear my results, check the sharing off in Discord. Still though, at least i managed to make a beat, and now that i'm much better, i can vote and share thoughts, so let's do it!

DarkShadow - I like the description it's honest. I don't mind tonal to be honest if it's done well. Usually if it's just random chaotic mess, i end up getting a little turned off by it, but like i say all the time, taste is personal. Some will love it, some might be like "not for me". That's ok though, were all unique. This track kind of feels like it has a blend of the classic DarkShadow ingredients, but with a bit more emphasis on wonky rhythms. The intensity of the melodies actually work in this instance, but there wasn't much fire noises, nor did i really hear much explosions as advertised. The ending was quite hard to follow in rhythm, but that's ok. I sense potential here, it feels not so much unfinished, but there was something that could really turn this into a great one. I didn't mind the tonality in this one compared to others. Still though, good job!

DDRKirby(ISQ) - Well 9th chords are my weakness, so this is right up my alley. I love the filtered synths, we going into a full blown disco, that kickdrum is beautifully mixed. It has the classic DDR chiptune elements, but the whole thing is a bright disco, it's so catchy. It's like you took the funkiest parts of Daft Punk, and made it more 8-bit like, the swing be popping. The melodies are absolutely fire too, i really don't know what else to say. The arrangement is top notch too, the light and shade parts were smooth, and there wasn't any noticable loud parts that ruined the mix. The 2nd half was crazy, the drum switch was wild. Love this a lot, i wish i could vote for it, but sadly i can only pick 3. Amazing work!

Meistr - Interesting intro, i thought we gonna go into a weird Dark Ambient vibe, but then the beat immediately hits, and we go into a more pop vibe, subverting expectations. The beat at the beginning is more of a downtempo vibe, with a killer vocal performance (shout out to the vocalist here she's awesome), but then it builds up closer to a classic EDM piece before dropping into a louder beat, and bassline. The drop is absolutely sick, but it only really lasts for about 10 seconds lol. To be fair, the whole track is short, and since everything happens so fast i needed to play it a few times to get what you are trying to say. I totally get it though, OHC is hard, not everyone can be like DDR or Me and make 4-5 minute tracks like it's nothing lol. Still though, what's provided is awesome, and probably would be even more so if you copied and pasted the last part for another 10 minutes. Regardless though i will give you this one, it was fire (Lol pun not intended). Well done!

A2Z - Damn dude is going fast with the full on gabber vibes. I was not expecting a beat practically going at 200bpm. I love me some gabber, so this is great. Sadly though, and i have this all the time, gabber is not exactly easy to mix. This thing was loud, and i mean very loud. The kickdrum is absolutely destroying and pushing down absolutely everything. The melodies are not the problem, but the synth choices do make it hard to blend with the beat. On top of that, you also introduced a shrill lead that just makes the whole thing basically clipping sorry. Again the tracks concept is brilliant, it's just in dire need of some tlc to make it less insanely loud. I have this all the time when i sometimes make gabber, especially if i want to make it more melodic than usual. Good job though!

nextGenNick - Great guitar mate, i'm glad you invested in one. It sounds really cool, although this is more of a background element than a main element, so i'm not sure if this is intentional. That tone is screaming 80's though, like Depeche Mode or something. The beat is very cool as is the arp, but everything is blended to where it all mostly sits in the same spectrum. I don't hear much in terms of melody nor do i hear any dynamics particularly in the beat, so to me it all just sounds like the same frequency (Also ending is abrupt too) Shame because the concept is really cool. Don't be discouraged though i see a lot of potential here it's very cool. Good job!

obScene - I like this guitar melody, it's part creepy but weirdly warm. I know that exact tone heh. ABL for the win! I love the piano and string combo that comes in, it's got so much sustained pedal it sounds like a blurry mess, but it's all intentional and i love it. The articulated strings is an obScene classic, and it always works for the atmosphere. This whole track feels like a main menu for a horror games it's sick. The choice is awesome, so dark and haunting, yet not weird of scary. Not my first choice for the theme, but damn the melodies are just so good, especially at the end. I really felt this one, it's awesome. So amazing i placed it on the top spot, incredible work!

Nukage - I'm loving the stuttered synths here, it's a great effect. Your tracks as of late have been quite ambiguous. I don't know if it's metal or EDM, and so far were in the EDM zone. That beat is hard, but mainly groovy hard, the really growly parts come in the drop. I love the bell sounds here, it's part dark, but futuristic. I like the classic buildup effects here, probably a preset since you use the warped filter a lot. The main drops though are awesome, the growls are a mix of yeoy like sounds, and classic lion roar growls. The mix is killer, not once throughout the 4 minutes was i bored. Some parts also gave of a tron vibe, i don't know if it's me, but i really digged it. Track was just awesome, it was more than enough for the 2nd spot, incredible work!

Arcana - Ooh i'm liking this NIN inspired beat. Lots of brooding synths, and some cool faint metal sounds that really compliment the beat. The melody is pretty, but quite faint, i don't know if it's intentional. It does get a bit more intense though when you overdub it with brass instruments, which is strange for me, but i'm totally ok. I thought it was supposed to be an instrumental, so i was suprised by vocals. Sure it's not lyrical singing, but it's still singing regardless. I really dig it, it's faintly Hans Zimmer in a way. The whole track is cool, it's got a blend of orchestration with electronic elements. Not sure if the brass is live, it feels very live, based on the way it's played. Now you did say most of it was live, but i don't know what you mean by live. Is it a keyboard patch played by you? Or did you actually bring in a trombone and performed it yourself? If so that's very impressive. Sure i sense a few touches to make it smooth, but honestly, i like it a lot that i will give it to you. It's really well done, and the melody was great. Well done!

Turbo852 - I paniced and thought the FL metronome was on haha. That is some cool 808 work going on, it's got a beat that kind of reminds me of Black Eyed Peas i don't know, but with a melody that's quite happy. The melody is definately not the direction i assumed with that beat, but i'm ok with it. I love the explosion effects here, really nice way to introduce dynamics and cinematics to the track. The melodies are good, but it feels like we could do something more to the track. Maybe a pad or choir, because it feels like half a melody or something. After 10 seconds we get another explosion effect before we bring the beat back, and it seems to be a reccuring theme, that it almost got mildly repetitive. Keep in mind i am 100 percent for copy and paste, but usually i encourage a mild variation, but instead i felt like we were back to the start. However i am mindful that these things take time, and we only really have 1 hour and 30 minutes. Still though, i loved it, it just has a lot of potential here. Good job!

Coloradoweeks - Now it was not on my bucketlist to hear Coloradoweeks make Eurodance but holy hell. I don't know if you remember the Carameldansen phase, but it totally feels like that. I don't know what exactly to call it, as that track was originally a Eurodance track sped up, and this is probably closer to Eurobeat which is similar, just maybe faster. I felt this more closer to 160bpm so who knows. I also need to process the idea of you autotuning your voice. I've never really seen you do that, because well...do you even need to haha. You can seriously sing, so i definately was trying not to laugh. Honestly this track was hilarious, especially from the car crash ending. Wait why am i laughing at Coloradoweek's death? I AM GOING TO HELL FOR THIS LOL. RIP, i will gather my OHC buddies to plan your funeral. "Colorado was a lovely person, i never saw her around much, but when she was there, she really went for it all. Always funny, always late to submit, and always struggling to propely end the pieces, instead opting for a 1 second delay that never properly rings out. Let's hope in heaven.." ok i can't contain myself this is too funny, and perhaps too dark. I'll end out my neverending laughter with a well deserved It was so piss funny i placed it third, incredible work!

Ethansight - Last one of the round! These are some cool synths, got a synthwave quality to them. I love the buildups in this, it's not like Nukage's where it's super noticable, but when it does drop, it's very satisfying. That bass work is funky as hell wow. I'm also in love with the blues notes that are added to the track here, it's just so god damn funky. The synth changes are sick too, it's the same sound, but with gating to make it very syncopated. The track is just soo good, from the melodies all the way to the bassline and beat work, i just loved every minute of it, even if it's only 1 chord. Amazing stuff man, i wish i could vote for it, but i can only choose 3. Amazing work!

Top 3 - obScene, Nukage, Coloradoweeks.

Choosing 3 was insanely hard this week, so i tried to focus on theme accuracy and personal enjoyment for this one for this one.
