DarkShadow: I like the panning, the ominousness, and the overall slower tempo. Everything builds up in this track in a good way and then the panning emphasizes an interesting moment right before an anticipated moment of intensity. Lots of tension in this one. If I had a suggestion, it would be to consider what would the release moment look like, and how would you let that tension go for the listener? The track gives me such crazed vibes.

TheVideoGamer: Nice techno, the voices are neat and I like the simple melody and the slow but steady breakbeats. It's definitely got a reasonably fast vibe to it but the vocals and samples keep it slower, giving it a not quite half-time feel. I think my feeling about this one is that during the drops, I'd ask what you want to do to make things feel different. More tension? More variety and variation? The core loops sound great.

DDRKirbyISQ: Very lovely and pretty theme with rock backing. Everything is nicely composed with a good choice of sounds, good balance, and nice chords that give it all a comfortable and nostalgic feeling. I feel that the drums in the back could be brought forward a tad, and that as we lead up to the climax/ending of the song, the instruments could add more dynamics and intensity. This is really pretty, I'm voting for it.

nukage: This is really crazy glitch. It's almost too intense for me, and I felt it was difficult to relate to because the glitch and the percussion were not rhythmically aligned - so it ends up sounding very disturbing and chaotic to me. I'm not quite sure how to explain it. This sounded like a ton of fun to create and probably would be a blast live!

Wassup Thunder: Everything here sounds super crunchy, like it's from a lo-fi soundtrack or a Genesis-era video game. I like the driving beat and the synced up melody. The riff is simple catchy. A highlight was the break in the middle when the chords drop out. One thing that would have been cool is a more intense ending - I think a possibility would have been a full 4/4 driving beat. Voting for this one.

obScene: Really pretty sounds and great instrument choice. The low vox-sounding instrument was such a good addition to anchor the lows, and the slightly rushed melody was actually a fascinating contrast to the rest of the song which is rather bucolic. I think I'm voting for this one.

turbo852: Nice beats. The chords are quite dissonant - would be good to hear those change up to avoid fatigue since the beats are pretty straightforward. The trap-like beats in the middle were my favorite in this one, production-wise.

cryref22: This is a slow, serene song. The ambient noise adds a lot - good choice to really pad things out and give it a lot of atmosphere. The bouncing synth is pretty since it's so erratic and plays well against the sparse percussion.

Arcana: I think I messed up this one a bit. I started with the chords, came up with something a little strange, and then tried to add rhythm and the groove didn't come together. I wanted to add a walking bass with offbeat chords, but they didn't really sound good together so I scrambled a bit. The chord progression is also strange, so I had a pretty hard time improvising lyrics and melody. Maybe next time.

I joined in so voting time!

TheVideoGamer - I originally was planning on making this more of a slower beat, with a bit of funk to it, but the damn beat block settled in, so i couldn't go further, eventually i got desperate and so i tapped into an old project. It sucks, because it's a weird ethical gray line, where i technically didn't really come up with anything original, however sadly what choice do i have, especially when desperate. The project was originally a 200bpm Happy Hardcore thing, but i slowed it right down to 150bpm, and softened the whole thing to make it a more milder dance track. There is also some fast arps, atmospheric mallet sounds, and most importantly some vocal samples courtesy of The Beatles and Judy Collins, that really add a wholesome feel to the track despite it being a photo of photographers. All in all, it has an arrangement and changes, it's just not entirely original, i think it has potential. Oh well, glad you liked it!

DarkShadow - Longest DarkShadow entry ever? This is some cool synths, although it's quite sudden the main synths, borderline loud. I love the vibe of this one, it reminds me of a faulty hard drive. Not what i think of when i see the images, and i feel the sound is very thin, especially towards the end, where it can get a bit too samey, with little development. However it is cool, the sound design is real neat. Good job!

DDRKirby(ISQ) - Love the guitar, it really gives off an indie vibe. The whole track feels like were transported to the early 2000's, yet it doesn't feel dated or boring. I love how it mixes the indie rock vibe with the classic DDR chiptune elements, it's not a combo i would have expected but it works really well. The guitar is really nice too, loop or not (I don't know, i'm making assumptions sorry), it's just such a nice tone. The drums don't feel like they belong to a rock genre, and personally if you want me to be really nitpicky, i'd boost them a bit, but that's again me being really nitpicky. Whole thing is fire though, i'm still gonna give you it, awesome work!

Nukage - That intro goes hard and were not even into the drop. The growls are crazy, i already feel like i should be fighting someone, and we haven't got the to the main drop, that's how sick it is. When the drop does hit, i was like WTF. The drop may be insanely loud, but holy hell the sound design is amazing. This is some seriously dirty stuff. The changes and pacing is perfection, this is just quality production from start to finish. I was also big on the 2nd buildup and drop, this was just amazing. Nothing else to say, it's excellent. It was enough for the 2nd spot, incredible work!

Wassup Thunder - I thought there was a problem with the track at first, but luckily you submitted a functioning track. Really liking the techno vibe we have going on, very gritty and dark. I get a lot of similarities to Jesper Kyd here, especially the early works. It's interesting to hear a kick and then a snare with a kick layered on top. It sort of has that double kick thing going on. It's interesting and unique for sure. There is a lot of great changes here, especially for 4 minutes, and the mix is really great. Nothing else to say i loved it, awesome work!

obScene - I recognise that guitar sound, i'm sure it's ABL. This is a very emotional track from you, which is nothing new, but it's the best part of your compositions, when it just hits the right spots. It has all the ingredients you use, but it just makes a really comforting dish. The dynamics are down too, there's so much light and shade parts, i don't feel like it's too loud or obnoxious. The track was just absolutely wonderful, and theme fitting. It was more than enough for the top spot, incredible work!

Turbo852 - The mix goes insanely hard in the first section, but this doesn't last long, as we go into another section of a different style. That seems to be theme as evident as we see in the description, with the melody remaining the same but the style changing. It is a cool idea, but none of it will match the insane intensity that is the first drop, as the sidechain, and sound design really fit that vibe. The rest of the sections don't seem to match it, as the drums are just too in front of the rest of the sounds, which results in a very drum heavy mix. The track though is very cool, i could see this being expanded upon so each section is properly developed, it has potential. Good job!

Cryef22 - I love that soft synth, it has such a lovely chill quality to it, maybe even a more modern RPG vibe. I am reminded of Undertale. I am always a big fan of the real world sound effects you add to your tracks, it adds a touch of realism, and makes it pop. It's the kind of track i'd sit on the mountains and listen to. I'm also a big fan of the automation on the arp, it goes through some wild tempo shifts. The percussion is a tiny bit loud for me personally, but it didn't ruin the track, and i am known to nitpick a lot. Despite all of that, the track is absolutely beautiful, i and i still am gonna give you this one, in fact it was so good i gave it the third spot, amazing work!

Arcana - Last one of the round and also the shortest! I dig the chords, it's got a bit of a whimsical feel going on, it's definately a bit spicy but in a good way. I'm glad you've submitted, even if it didn't work out, any submission is a good submission. Had to play it a few times to process it, but what i heard was really cool. Yes it's a little dissonant, and sure the vocals were a tiny bit loud, but i see a lot of potential for this to be awesome. Good job!
