TheVideoGamer - This track is a last resort track, made out of primarily samples, as my other ideas were failing hard. Beat block sucks. I know it's 6 minutes, but this was originally an old project, that i did a lot of arranging and adding new samples for. The track is best described as an atmospheric gabber number, comprising of Erik Satie samples, with thick pounding beats, chill pad and bell sounds, and other samples that match, including a RCT2 OST sample and a JVKE sample. It's not a rhythmical track as such, even if the drums are syncopated, as it's about being as chill as possible whilst retaining the energy. It's not my favourite track, but the layering of the samples is very nice, so i do appreciate this. Oh well, glad you liked it anyways!
DarkShadow - Cool chords this week, it sounds very dark and haunting. The kick drum is very techno like this week, even if played at a slower tempo than normal. The bassline is quite in your face for this one, it almost clashes with the kick drum. I do think a bit of refinement is needed here, the bassline tends not to mix well with the other synths. The end part was absolutely sick though, i loved that. It has a lot of potential here, good job!
Jett Swole - Lol this is funny, i wasn't expecting the guitar work though, holy shit this is a BJKMenu type beat, but with a bit of a Pirate element going on. I absolutely love the lyric work here, wow you can sing extremely well. The guitar work is really sick, loving that punk tone. Whole thing is just a ton of fun, and catchy. I could definately vote for this one, awesome work!
NickC - Nice bell sounds here, goes nice with the ocean sounds. I feel like we have a bit of an oldschool vibe going on, it reminds me of an early video game sound. That melody is very nice and chill, it's got that distorted sine wave effect going on. I even like the addition of the tubular bell, it kind of fits the lighthouse effect. For a NickC composition it's suprisingly very melodic and rich, and not reliant on much drums too (There is drums in this piece however). This is actually beautiful stuff, so beautiful i placed it on the top spot, incredible work!
Meistr - Calm piano and more ocean noises, i think this might be a recurring theme this week. Loving the chords and strings, it's quite beautiful. The mix is extremely quiet though, i had to raise my volume to maximum to properly hear it. Love how it has a mild viking feel to the sound, it's very pretty stuff. Not much lyrics, but i am more than satisfied with just Oooh's. Honestly the only thing it needs is a louder mix, everything else was actually beautiful stuff. Abrupt end, but it was enough for the 2nd spot, even if quiet. Amazing work!
DarkMystery22 - Nice 3/4 time signature here, i get a kind of waltz approach here. Loving the E Major chord at the end of each loop, it's a great progression. I feel like we could be in Medievil times, it sounds quite historical. The melody is pretty catchy here, i really feel like i'm transported back in time. Some notes were an interesting choice, but it didn't make it too dissonant, just mildly strange. The mix is really great here, no notes to say about that. Honestly i will give you this one, it was just great stuff, so great i picked it on the third spot. Amazing work!
BJKMenu - You teased me then lol, i thought it was gonna be a hard hitting rock tune, but we ended up with a more latin styled piece, with a smooth phased guitar, and a nice soft drummachine that feels somewhat 80's. Liking the guitar here, it's very expressive. Whole thing feels like upgraded elevator music but in a good way, it has a lot of great changes and some really great chords. The noodling is also really nice, brings a lot of funkiness to the table. Really great stuff, well done!
Arcana - Longest entry in a while, really digging that battle cry kind of melody. I'm amped up for battle in a Final Fantasy game. I love the piano arps here, it feels weirdly cold. The background chords don't seem to match the piano, making for something kind of dissonant. I love the main vocal melody here, it's quite catchy, even if again the piano melody and vocal melody don't exactly match. It's not so much that i don't like it, but rather it needs to be blended a bit more. I think there's lyrics here, but you added a strange effect to the voice, so it sounds like a buzzing noise. Whole track as an idea is wonderful, i just sense it needs more refinement in both mix and in the way you've processed the vocals. Still though, it was a lot of fun. Good job!
Misael.K - Very late entry, but nonetheless i love that deep drum beat you are known for, and some really great flute synths, that give it that 80's styled medievil flair. It feels weirdly mystical, like i'm in another world. The melodies here are a little conflicting. Not sure which is the main one or not, but this doesn't mean the track is bad, but rather the melodies work in a call and response vibe. Some chords are spicy, but in a very great well, a lot of sick modulations going on here. All in all, this is a very catchy piece, that i can't really say much else. This is lovely, i could see myself voting for this, awesome work!
