TheVideoGamer - This track is essentially 2 halves, but mostly of a similar idea. We have my 3/4 phase back, complete with a mellow organ sound, mixed with piano, a sub bass, a swelled pad in B Major going to town with 9ths, and a lead melody that makes it quite the melodic piece. I tried to keep it as chill as possible, but i think i might have overcompensated a little with some stuff. Either way it sounds nice. The 2nd half is where i hit a snag, because i wanted to just keep building and building into a climatic texture, but i didn't know how to expand upon it without it being repetitive, so a swelled in a chord, as a bridge to the next section, then introduced a more robust piano chord progression coupled with a bad, another lead melody, and a more softer beat, that lends more into downtempo than house/techno. All in all, it's pretty good and dynamic, i like it, and i hope you do too. Glad you liked it anyways!
DarkShadow - DarkShadow going at it with the synth bass again. The classic thick saw tooth sound is back, this time with some insanely aggressive laser drums. Perhaps a bit too loud for the whole thing. I'm afriad this one is a bit too all over the place for me. I think the laser drums are way too upfront, so it just sounds like an experimental drum jam. Not my favourite, however it was a lot of fun, cannot lie there. Good job!
Nukage - Soft intro, this is not a classic Nukage intro, yet i totally feel like it's a Nukage track. Very eerie and perfect for an open landscape, yet not scary, just a bit atmospheric. The intro is much longer than a standard Nuke production, we have a whole minute of just straight up filtered ambience, before we get a signnificant change. This is not a bad thing at all, i really dig it. The track is very dynamic, and in some ways unsettling, i don't know where you're going to take me next. Sometimes i think "Is it going to drop"? and it never does. When the drop does finally hit though, it completely changes, into a straight up Metal banger. Completely a 180 from before, but i'm all for it. I don't have anything else to say, it's quite dynamic, and has a lot of sick metal moments. I love it, well done!
DDRKirby(ISQ) - Ooh not a chill beat all, which is interesting as i thought you were going for the chill route, but instead, were more in the Explorer vibe. It's fast and disco like, but with a lot of chiptune elements, and a really killer melody. Definately not what i was expecting for this theme, but it works super well i actually dig it. There's even a trap/dubstep breakdown in the middle which was extremely unexpected for DDR, i wouldn't think to go this direction at all. Whole thing is catchy as hell, and even though it's not what i think for the theme, i love it nonetheless. It was so catchy, i decided to place it third, even if not related to the theme in my opnion. Amazing work!
Jxsl - Quite the short one this week at only 44 seconds. I like this, it's quite mellow and chill. Everything sounds like MIDI though, i don't know how you even managed to export MIDI, considering it's mostly data. The composition is nice, but i don't vibe with just MIDI instruments i'm sorry. It feels quite cheap. But i do give props for the melodies here, it was nice. Good job!
Misael.K - Classic Deep Misael drums plague my ears. Loving the synths, quite textural, kind of moody. The drums have a great reverb useage on them, it sounds like i'm in an open space. The laser sounds make this more 80's sounding for me, like i'm in some Synthwave neon road. More of a slow building track this week, but i'm ok with that, especially when done well. I love the chill melody in this, i feel quite relaxed, but yet still retaining the funk. The slow developments just really make this piece. The middle part was great, because even though there wasn't exactly a section change, i did notice a lot of new sounds getting added to build up this great texture. All in all, it keeps on adding, nothing sticks out as loud or annoying. The whole thing is just lovely really, well done!
Mesitr - Another short one at just a minute. Really liking that chill guitar, it feels like a Country song in some ways, but with crickets and water sounds, making me think more of spring, instead of summer. The harmonisation in the vocals are lovely, it's wonderful. The piano is relatively emotional, although a bit dry and mechanically for my liking, but the melodies were great. Had to play it a few times to process it, but the vocals themselves were the star here. I feel like giving you this one, even with my critiques, the vocals are just great. So great i placed it on the 2nd spot, i loved it. Amazing work!
Arcana - Cool piano and flute thing going on. The vocals are way too quiet though, you might have forgotten to switch the gain on lol. The flute and piano is pretty though, goes great with the beat. The whole thing just feels very quiet. I did like the dynamics in the vocals, but it just makes the piano more buried. I see a lot of potential here, some parts maybe tuned a little more, but don't be discouraged, it sounds really nice. Lots of great sections, good job!
Coloradoweeks - Woah that chord progression is lovely. I don't need to talk about how amazing your voice is, because i already know it. It's the progression for me, it's an slightly elevated classic Jazz progression. I love the bongo work in here, it really adds to the campfire element of the whole piece. The track is just wonderful, i really don't have anything else to say, it has that beach campfire vibe nailed perfectly. I've said enough, this is going on the top spot, it was wonderful. Incredible work!
