TheVideoGamer - This one is basically full soundscape material complete with some soil sounds, some wood knocking sounds and a scream for help. The rest is mostly massive presrts manipulated both with the settings, and with the effects like reverb and distortion. It's not a super complicated piece, the bulk is primarily just filtering, distortion and other stuff being woven in and out. We also have the ocasional impact sound that comes in to keep it from being a single drone. It's not the most accessible, but to be honest, halloween themes tend to bring out the most experimental in me anyways, so you would kind of expect this by now. All in all, whilst not the easiest listen, i do like it. It keeps on developing, and has a lot of moments to keep you intrested. Oh well, glad you liked it anyways!
cotmm68030 - Interesting hospital sounds, sounds like it couldl be sampled here. I'm glad you at least said hi. Good job!
DarkShadow - DarkShadow Time Signature goodness returns. Loving the glides in this one, it's very cool. The sawtooth synths in this one, are especially interesting, kind of dissonant, but also spooky. Wasn't expecting it to be this slow, but i like it a lot. I do like the piano sounds as well, that's an unexpected direction from you. Still a bit all over the place, but i dig the idea nonetheless, good job!
Wassup Thunder - Ooh industrial i'm all for that. Really digging this intro, very brooding and unsettling. Loving the delay effects here, i really feel like i'm underground. Love how the sounds are slowly fading in and filtering. The mallet really makes it spooky. Some parts of the synth remind me of an alarm it's pretty great. Whole thing just has a lovely atmosphere, i like it when people suprise me with beats i wouldn't normally expect from them. I love how it keeps adding, the whole thing is just really great industrial stuff. Even with the harshness you still find time for a melody at the end, and a really long tail lol. This one was just absolutely fire, so fire i choose it as the top spot, it was just super sick and wonderful! Incredible work!
DDRKirby(ISQ) - Ayy Mystic Cave! Also don't apologise for the mix, you mix miles better than me. Mine just sounds like a clustered mess most of the time haha. Not sure how i will vote a remix of another tune, but hell if it's great, who's to say i can't vote for it right? Pretty fast i must say, usually it's in a New Jack Swing style but this is full on EDM. You know i wish the 2 player one got remixed more, that's more underated. The synths work perfectly for this theme, and i love how you add your own spins to it, even taking the ring sound into a melody. You actually took a simple but very catchy composition and made it your own. I don't see problems with the mix at all, and i don't see anything else to say other than i could vote for this, awesome work!
jxsl - Another short one, sick beat, and even sicker time signature. It's very quiet this piece, the melodies are super deep to the point it's mostly being masked by the drums. I do like the cool nature of the processing on the drums, but i definately feel a drastic lack of high end, kind of makes this more...moody. I feel with a melody or two and some fleshing this could be sick, but as it stands it was a lot of fun, good job!
Meistr - Spooky piano and vocals, definately the most pop heavy so far, aside from the EDM nature of DDRKirby. I love the vocals it's very creepy, and the piano also adds to the scary flare. Your vocalists are just extremely sick, they have such great flow and melodic contour. The only thing that would complete this is a funky bassline, but honestly the amazing vocal performances kind of win it for me, especially with the beat. So i don't really have much else to say other than well done!
Treyt - Another short one, man this part is mostly 1 minute entries this week. Loving that deep vocal, it feels very much like an authentic metal growl. Whole track is exceptionally quiet, maybe unintentionally compressed. Had to play this one a few times, because of how short it is, and as a track it's pretty sick, the melody is catchy, and the guitar riffs bang. I just feel because of how quiet it is, and how it's mixed, i don't get a sense of each part, so it just sounds like a just a single rumble to me, sorry if that offends you. I did like the guitar tone and vocal performance though, it was really sick. Good job!
DJohn - 24 seconds lol, man this party really is short. This has to be an incomplete render, no way this is that short. It cuts of abruptly too, so i assume it is. A shame, because the vocals are incredible as always, as is the glitchy drums and the strings. It sounds like the start of something amazing, but sadly i cannot judge on so little music i'm sorry. Good job though!
Arcana - Look at that, it ends up being Arcana with the longest entry, aside from my 6 minutes. Loving that orchestral drum work, and string drone. I really feel like i'm preparing for battle. The melodies are kind of emotional to say were going to die. The track itself kind of has an end of the world vibe, i don't know. The vocals have a great effect to them, but i do notice in some parts the autotune sort of collapses a bit. I assume this is a render problem, or a glitch fault or something. It's like a vibrato effect, but to the extreme. However i must commend you on the backing, it's actually pretty fire. That might be the saviour here, from preventing it into going into good job, because it's some really fire chords and some great drum work. All in all it's actually a really fire piece, with only some minor vocal tweaks that could really make this even more awesome. Great stuff man, so great i actually decided to place it second, because it's just an extremly strong entry from you, maybe the strongest this year. Amazing work!
Misael.K - Cool stabs, this is quite synthpop inspired, i really like it. That melody is kind of got a great guitar emulation, even though were mostly in synth land. Some of the chords are pretty wild, i wasn't expecting this direction, but honestly i'm all for it. Sometimes i'm not into too much dissonance but this is the perfect balance. I thought the drums were a bit lacking, until you added a riser into the drop, and i was like "There we go!". Lots of sick melodies and chord changes here, not too dissonance but quite spicy. Nothing else to say it was absolutely fire. So fire i picked it third, it was lovely, amazing work!
