DDRKirby just claims this for the overall polish.

DJohn for the great and raw delivery

MisaelK for the really interesting underlying emotion, since there's that tension below the track in the instrumentation that adds a lot of depth to it.

I wasn't around compo because i was away, and it was a case of where compo was unfortunately not possible. It all depends on what the time zone is, the size of the room i am staying in, and other factors. This is why i had to miss this week, however what i did do to make up for it and to get some practice in, is use the images provided and a 1hr and 30 minute timer to cook up something from the images. It's not a OHC entry, because it's way past the date, so i end up uploading it to the sharing off channel in the ThaSauce discord. I had fun, and i got to practice my chops, so it's all good. Anyways let's move onto the entries, the meat of this voting!

DarkShadow - Interesting Tick Tock sound, kind of like were replicating a clock, but using square synths, in classic DarkShadow fashion. Long intro this week, kickdrum came in pretty late. Very mild for a DarkShadow entry too, usually it's fast and bombastic, but this is more closer to Hip-Hop tempo than gabber tempo, even if around 200bpm. I actually kind of like this, it's quite experimental, not much melody going on, if any at all, and is mostly a drum/bass excerise. I do think we could do with more of a melody in this, maybe some chords, however it's definately a unique entry, probably the best in a long time because of how different it was. Good job!

jxsl - Woah this is a wonky rhythm, very swung in a sort of shuffle way. That is some very nice FM programming here, feels very much like a Sega Genesis game but in a modern production setting. The melody is very chill i like it, kind of calming and uplifting. Wasn't expecting the double time, that came out of nowhere, were now into a punk rock setting. I do think when the double time comes in, we could have another instrument to really set itself apart, but it was still great as it was. I do think we could do with a bit of smoothing, it feels weirdly compressed i don't know. The 2nd half is just a faster tempo, not much to set itself apart. However what i heard was a lot of fun, i do like this, it's got a lot of potential. Good job!

Nukage - Ooh interesting vocal manipulation going on. Wasn't expecting that DnB beat, for the last couple of years you've been making basically hard hitting metal, so to hear the EDM side from you again, was not only unexpected, but also a kind of worthwhile change. The main riff in this is banging, it totally feels like were in the 90's, but with a lot of modern EDM drums going on. I do wish we had a harder hitting beat, i wasn't expecting lighter drumwork for a more harder styled beat, but that does not change how good it sounds. Even with some slight potential, i still think it's good enough for the awesome section, i really like it a lot, it bangs hard. Even with my critiques i still feel it's voting worthy. Awesome work!

DDRKirby(ISQ) - Time for some house musik. Sick kick and clap, and some sick futuristic arps that make me very hype. That chord progression is very loud in comparison to the rest, i wasn't expecting that. It's a very thick synth, almost Deadmau5 style. If we toned it down a little it would actually be even more fire than it already is, but that's mostly a mixing thing, based on what i perceive to be a tad loud. The rest of the track makes up for it though, the drums are sick, the chiptune arps/melodies are always fire as always, and the track has a lovely arrangement. Even though i would tone down the main chord progression, it still doesn't change how good this track is, so i will still give you this one, even with my critiques i still feel it's voting worthy. Awesome work!

Snipsey - A very short entry from you. I've heard your 2hts submission, as i was a little late with this one, especially since i was away last week, so this is technically your first, but for me it would be your 2nd lol. This is some burial shit, i'm all for it. The drums are swung just like him, and the chord progression is calming, whereas Burial is more dystopian. The similarities are there though. Shame it's only 43 seconds, i really felt the vibe as soon as the piece ends, which was extremely abrupt. I don't mind you looping this for a bit longer, it was a great vibe. Stil lthough what i heard was nice, good job!

Meistr - Only 2 collaborators this week!? What happened to the rest lol. I love the shoutout at the end, that made me laugh. I have to stress that i am one guy, and i don't control the OHC monopoly. Whatever i say doesn't mean you need to follow it. It's essentially me listening to the track and providing thoughts as i listen. Remember i submit to this compo, but because of how late it is, i don't have the energy to physically stay up to the party, as 3:30 is my cutoff point, and this is why i channel all of that in my voting. My critiques are not set in stone, nobody has to accept my critiques. I am one guy and a pair of ears. Anyways i've talked too much about the description i've yet to actually go to the music. I don't think i've refered to your music as quiet, not at least in the past few weeks. I probably have, but it's been so long i don't remember lol. Loving those strings, it feels very cinematic, but also Hip-Hop inspired. I really dig this orchestrasion here, i feel like i'm in an RPG. The autotune was very much jarring for this beat, i felt more of a folky vocal vibe going on, but instead i hear a sort of EDM/Hip-Hop autotune vibe. It's not because i hate autotune, it's the opposite, i feel it fits a different vibe than this. Some parts of the vocal were very detuned, so the autotune felt more like a thermin in my eyes. Your vocalists are awesome though, so it's more of the effects than the singing. You know listening to this again, i immediately think this could be flipped into a Hardstyle banger, a la Headhunterz - Rescue Me. It just sets me up for that genre i don't know. The track is not quiet at all this week, and honestly the autotune was all that really maybe puts me of a tad. Still doesn't change the talent for the vocalists and you, the producer. Taste is personal. Still though, even with potential i liked it a lot, good job!

Coloradoweeks - Cool vocal styled pad, very interesting and unusual. This one has a lot of textures going on, i feel it's more of an atmospheric number than a more uptempo entry. I love the slow fading synths, it goes from a more drone based piece, into a kind of melodic and sad number. Very much organic but without the orchestration. I do love how it slowly builds and builds, into this really nice relaxing piece. Honestly this is not something i would expect from a Coloradoweeks entry, because you are known to make vocal based and uptempo pieces, yet this is completely chill and relaxing, and epic despite it being mostly synth. I know i say this a lot of times, but in my opinion this is probably my favourite entry from you to date. It's super unique, it develops just so nicely, and the textures just blend so well. Extremely wonderful stuff, so wonderful i placed it on the top spot, it was just excellent. Incredible work!

Misael.K - Mysterious Misael in action. That is some cool granular beat right there, mixing that Breakbeat and IDM style. The arp is definately thought provoking, it's quite the mysterious progression. I feel like my head is grooving, yet i also feel like i'm asleep or something. It's that lovely blend of relaxing and uptempo. I like how sustained the bells are, it really makes it more shoegazey sounding, very airy. The melody is also fitting here, it's also a mallet sound, but more in line with a synthetic glockenspiel than the vibraphone like sound in the main arp/chord progression. It develops extremely nicely, to say it's mostly a consistent stream of dynamics. I do love when something just loops, but stuff is added or changed, it makes for a really nice droney experience. The 2nd half was almost unexpected, maybe i was expecting for the arp to loop and loop, but this was a great change too, a different progression and a lovely wall of swelled pads. Whole thing was just beautiful, i don't know what else to say. Love this one a lot, in fact it was so beautiful i placed it on the 2nd spot, amazing work!

Arcana - More shuffle going on. This is almost like the 3rd entry to feature it this week. I do like the chords here, has a sort of lullaby effect going on, especially mixed with the calm beat. The vocals are great here, although i will confess, i feel the melody is a bit hard to follow here, but i don't think this is a detune thing, maybe a the way you've chosen the melody. I do feel relaxed in this one, it's quite the chill entry. Some parts of the vocal feel like there is some fuzziness going on. I think it could be a recording issue, but it sounds like it's breaking. The track as an idea though is actually wonderful, if we just did a few tweaks, and smoothing this could be an awesome entry, i like it a lot, so don't be discouraged. Sick idea, a lot of fun, good job!

DJohn - Interesting plinks going on, kind of like a piano with a lot of reverb. Of course it cannot be DJohn without his signature guitar, i love this tone, it feels very warm and crispy, but not loud. I love the vocal in this, it fits exceptionally well with the guitar. It kind of feels like you added a bit of an amp to the vocals, it has a mild distorted effect going on, that i love. The singing is excellent as always, it goes very well with the guitar. I don't mind the ending, but i feel ending it with the plinks, isn't as good as just ending it on a guitar and vocal stop, but that's just me. Nothing really else to say, and definately nothing bad about this, it was a lot of fun, with some incredible singing. It just feels like a perfect guitar pop piece. It was so perfect it placed it on the third spot, amazing work!

Top 3 - Coloradoweeks, Misael.K, DJohn.

Despite my critiques, i still think Nukage and DDRKirby(ISQ) are worthy of a vote.
