TheVideoGamer - This track is quite the journey, consisting of a lot of different sections, but each from the same breakcore background, and roughly in a similar melodic mindset. Because the theme referenced mathmatics, i thought that it would be cool to add a bit of a glitchy element to keep with that theme, hence why i choose breakcore. The melodies themselves are designed to be whimsical, mainly so that it wouldn't take itself too seriously, and also to better fit for the Simpsons vocal sample i used. The track also contains a drum solo for the fun of it, and a small ambient part that adds a chill element, without loosing the breakcore feel. Oh and there is a funky guitar loop in there as well, because again, why not lol. I just threw in what i could, with how it sees fit. Oh well, glad you liked it anyways!
THEGREATDESTROYER22 - Interesting 12/8 thing going on, you also went for the mathmatical approach. It's a fire beat......and er...ok i was not expecting the sudden ear rape lol. Jesus christ this is making me uncomfortable lol. Your vocal delivery is great, but this is making me.....er, i'm struggling to process this, so it's gonna be a good job from me lol.
moo.oorgan - Welcome new person, this is very glitchy. Kind of like my beat, except yours is slower and more technical, whereas mine is just straight up breakcore madness lol. The drum work is amazing damn this is a catchy beat, the sound design gone into these drums are soo good, i love the changes a lot. It's not a melodic piece sure, but man it doesn't need to be melodic, especially for a piece about math. Man the drum changes are wonderful, i really dug the 2nd half when it went into a bass heavy techno style, this was extremely dope. In fact, the theme accuracy and catchy nature is why i picked this for the top spot, it was lovely. Incredible work!
DDRKirby(ISQ) - Always down for the classic chiptune arp and bass, the mixing is always on point! Loving the pads in this, has that wonderful balance between chill and high energy. You really know your way around a melody, this is some seriously catchy stuff. Love the middle section, when you take it into an 80's direction, there's just so many sick changes throughout, it's hard to not vibe. I can never really say anything bad about your beats, it's just so godamn catchy and perfectly mixed. It was enough for my to vote you for the 2nd spot, i loved it. Amazing work!
Lyra_183 - Welcome back it's been a while! Always nice to hear your voice consistently upgrade within each listen, you are really great at singing. Also probably the longest entry i've heard from you in ages, probably to make up for lost time lol. I think this could benefit from some normalisation, it's perhaps a bit quiet, but that's about it. You do manage to really capture some great melodies lines here, this is great. You know i'm thinking about this, and i think it's really good enough, that i should give you this one. Well done!
Dex - Cool FM synth sounds here, this does not immediately give me Dex vibes, it's very different from you. It sounds like a 90's video game, the drums and synths just feel super retro, even with the modern percussion. I just can't wrap my head around this being a Dex beat, it's so different lol. I do like this a lot though, the melodies are wonderful, and the strings add a lovely orchestral flair to the sound. It just feels like it could maybe benefit from a bassline, but that's about it, i don't think it was enough to detract from the piece. I like this one a lot, awesome work!
Nukage - Loving the gritty synths, this is setting me for something Industrial, yet obviously this is going to be hard hitting Electro Metal. I just love your intro's man, it really hypes me up into the main drop, without it sounding cheap or boring. The mix is fire here, although maybe a little too compressed for my liking, however it didn't ruin the track at all, the vocal work is sick as always, you know your way around the voice, especially those screams, i still can't even shout without straining my voice lol. Yeah this is just one hard hitting metal piece, what can i say? Awesome work!
Misael.K - Classic Misael drums and chords, you really went all out for this chord progression, it's so cool and unique. I love spicy chords like this, especially done this well. There's so many chord changes for 2 minutes, it's pretty amazing actually. Singing is lovely, and fits well in the mix, although i will say the chorus got a bit detuned a little, but i don't know if this is intentional or not. It was nice though, so i'm not complaining. The track overall is still amazingly catchy, and the melody lines were lovely, so i will give you this one. In fact it was good enough for me to vote you for the 3rd spot, it was so great. Amazing work!
Meistr - 44 seconds is quite the short one, makes it hard for me to review if there's so little music lol. Had to play this a few times to process it, but what i heard was very nice. At the beginning it sounded so happy, and i was kind of hoping you guys would lean into it, but instead you opted for a Gb bass note resulting in a more of a minor key, than a major key, which is still fine, but i don't know, i felt hyped for a major key for some reason. The beat is extremely fire, the intro really sets itself up for the nice drop, but it being 44 seconds, the drop lasts about 5 seconds lol. It definately felt way too short, and that's kind of sad, the vocal lines towards the end were lovely, but she only had like 10 seconds of lines. End of the day, what i heard was nice, but not enough of it, and a little...rushed if you get me lol. Rushed as in, there's not enough time for each part to develop, it happens so fast haha. Still though the beat was fire as hell, and your vocalists were also great, credit where it's due. Good job!
Arcana - Ooh i like those vocal effects, it feels like we have some kind of 80's delay or something. The vocals do mask the rest of the sounds for my liking, however it's not loud or obnoxious, so it's not too much of a problem. I do think the beat is pretty, it has a kind of melancholic feel. The drums are good, but in some way i could go for a more harder hitting beat, it feels a bit light and chill, for what is essentially hyping me up for EDM, even if i hear a faint electronic beat in there. Basically the whole thing as an idea is wonderful, but i definately sense potential, it has a great vocal, that just maybe needs a bit of polish and smooting. Still though, it was a lot of fun, with a lot of great sounds, so don't be discouraged. Good job!
RukkuVT - Meistr's Partner has started a solo career lol. Man this is why the melodies sound so good, you always provided the lo-fi parts. For your first solo submission you really went all out for the length, i dig it. Man i think there is one synth or melody that is completely out of key from the rest, it sounds....pretty dissonant. Maybe i'm not used to this much spice, who knows. The drums are perfectly mixed though, amazing snap to the kick and snare. The melody towards the middle is super pretty, it gives me immediate c418 vibes, it's kind of uplifting, even if not strictly happy. Loving the kids voices in the background, it doesn't make me think of math, but it really amps up the atmosphere here. We do take a long cruise before you introduce the drums again. But i assume you want to emphasise the atmosphere in this, more so than the melodies. I do notice the melodies are fixed in the last part of the track, which i find interesting, because it confirms there is some pitch-shifting done by accident or something, that changes the scope of this piece. Even with my critiques, i found this to be very pretty, with some seriously amazing drum sounds. So i will give you this one, it was fire, awesome work!
