CotMM brought the post-apocalyptic contrast with the clean vision, and did it convincingly.

the pod was a good song, great vibe, good vocals, and lyrics were relevant to the theme. easy #1

hiding away also had great vocals and was an overall banger

an ever brighter tomorrow was a unique concept of a song fully incorporating a Shepard's Tone, executed wonderfully.

Mobile voting for the win! Let’s goo!

@Misael.K - Same Person Different DAW, different device lol

@Misael.K - I love me some seasonings in my pieces. Passing chords for the win!

@A2Z - This is precisely the reason I hate working on GarageBand sometimes lol

@Suzums - When in doubt, go arp…

@Misael.K - Dammit this was supposed to be my elaborate plan to make anything but TVG. I’ve failed…

@A2Z - I have a sound? I did not know that XD

@Suzums - I’ll probably use it again then if it’s that satisfying lol.

@Suzums - Ran out of time. I wanted this to be even more epic, but fate said no lol.

@Misael.K - Wasn’t meant to be deliberate, it just happened unexpectedly. Kind of glad it did, I like it a lot.

@Everyone - Thanks for the kind words!

Now then…

TheVideoGamer - This track is 2 chord progressions (Although the 2nd one appears for the grand total of a single time) that form a bit of a semi uplifting but melancholic feel. The track then builds around that going through arps, then a bassline, then lad chords, then a filter effect to the beat, and more arps and pads, then finally the main melody. Not the most complex, and I would have liked to work on it more, but I ran out of time. It was rare that I actually used my time to make a beat, instead of sharing something from this morning, which is cheating. So I actually participated in OHC using GarageBand. Not the best to use in mobile, but it’s all I’ve got, and I don’t really have time to use other programs as such. It’s ok at times, it’s all about how you use it. Anyways I’m glad you like it regardless.

cotmm68030 - Hah, you beat Lyra for a change lol. Not often the case. Nice slow building textures, I’m hearing a lot of simulated vinyl crackle, sort of emulating rain and or a rain stick. It’s very lo-fi, without all of the hip hop, maybe even vapourwave. Despite the low quality feel, it’s very warm in parts, even though it’s not meant to be. It’s sort of an alien like warm, like we’re on another planet. It’s very relaxing despite that, and has a lot of really lovely build and release parts, it’s just beautiful, kind of melodic, and just lovely to listen to. I could only choose 3, so if there would be a fourth place, this would be it. Amazing work!

Lyra_183 - You always do great accapellas, singing is lovely! There is always potential for this to be turned into a song, someone should do it ;). No but this is lovely, super fun. Good job!

Souperion - Ambient pads are kind of space like. Very pretty. It goes super well with the strings, instantly reminds me of Jerry Goldstein. The different chords also add a bit of spookiness to the sound. It’s probably a bit clustered to the sounds, a bit more space, but it’s not a huge issue. The synth sequences that crept in really took me out of the blue, that was an excellent transition to the euro rock parts. Really hyped me up, almost like we’re going on a Mario Kart styled race. String work really matches the intensity. When the final chord comes in, we hear a callback to the first part. The euro rock section could be longer, as I was into it, you ended the piece, leaving me wanting more. However though, this was a ton of fun, and a great way of subverting expectations. And you managed to create some great grooves and melodies on top of this, so I’ll give you this. Well done!

DarkShadow - The return of the saw synth gabber. Manic beats, chaotic melodic sequences. I can never tell what key we are in, because you just change chords so quickly lol. It also is just extremely short. Sorry dude, good job!

THEGREATDESTROYER22 - Nice riffs here, it sounds like a cool synth guitar, a bit grungy. Very dirty stuff. Each synth has a lot of similar properties, so it does feel like it builds in texture and volume. This is not a bad thing, as when the kick comes in, I really feel the weight of the groove. I do like the kick and snare in this, extremely tight and snappy, quite powerful. The drop was unexpected but kind of fire. Can be a bit loud however, it was a bit of a jumpscare, but I do like the way it introduces more texture to the party. The drums just suddenly drop out, before they eventually return, which is ok, but it took me out of the groove a little. Track also stops dead at the end, practically no ending lol. Super abrupt. As it stands, I like this a lot, but I feel a few changes and mixing, could turn this into something really awesome. Good job though!

kboldskeep - Really nice to have you back! Great basslines, nice filtering action. This sounds kind of whimsical, like some video game platformer. The melody is a bit loud compared to the rest, but it’s not ear piercing. The drums could be a bit louder however, and the lead could be toned down, allowing for a bit more room to breath. Still though I enjoyed this a lot, good job!

Nukage - Classic Nukage vocals. Even with the effects on, it sounds like a really power voice. Drop is pretty epic, even if it’s not in your face in the same way dubstep is, it’s still awesome. Singing compliments this, very emotive. Love this, awesome work!

animatrix1490 - Ooh this sound like chiptune, very cute in parts. Loving the chords here, got a lot of great spices. Drums are nicely mixed. 2nd part is a bit unstructured, I didn’t feel the melody as much as the first part. If you had developed the first part more (Through the nature of extension) this would have been awesome. I just feel the 2nd half is not as developed as it could be. Still though, good job!

Koekepan - Now that is a lovely choir sound, I’m really feeling the space feel. Deep bass notes, lots of delay effects creeping in and out. I totally get the space feel. Immediately I’m given Vangelis vibes. Great chord changes, nice movement. I personally don’t like the way you fade in and out the choir parts, they were such lovely additions, that they should stay for at least quite some time, instead of just creeping in and out very slowly. It doesn’t diminish how good the piece is, but it does set it back from reaching is full potential. Despite that I do like the really lovely chord changes and slow arching minimalism. I could listen to this for 10 minutes. Even with my mentioned criticisms I’m still gonna give you this, because it’s just done right. It’s beautiful stuff. I could only pick 3, which was tragic. If there is a potential 4th place, you would definitely be on it. Amazing work!

Greendjssa - I’m reminded more of Bossa Nova than jungle lol. But i digress. Great chords, jazzy and has a lot of smoothness. I like the breaks in this, but they are a little on the light side. Maybe it’s my expectations, but I need a real powerful amen for this beat, and the one I’m hearing doesn’t seem to match that I’m afraid. The melodies in are really dope though, I really love them. For your attempt at jungle, this is miles better than what I could do. Even if a bigger break is needed, I’m still gonna give you this, because it was very well done on the melodic parts. Awesome work!

Dex - Nice electric piano like melodies, really sets us up for the sick rock guitar riffs to come. It’s a bit of a different tone than I usually hear from you. It makes it a little hollow personally. The piano is really nice, although the drums are surprisingly quiet in this. Maybe it’s a different setup than what you are use to? I feel mixing is a big thing here, but also I feel the guitar is not the star of the show here, as much as it could be. It has a lot of potential, put it this way. Good job!

A2Z - Ooh that’s a nice phat kick, very trancy sounding this, lots of space like chords. Major 7ths for the win! I was not expecting vocals, hot damn she is an amazing singer. Really loving the slow developments, really builds up the nice warm feel. The vocals are under-utilised, she needs to be in more of the song, it’s tragic she only lasts for like 8 bars total. Still lovely though, awesome work!

Misael.K - 80s synths woo! It’s immediately got that HOME feel. These chords are one of a kind, damn. It’s amazing when people go for these super unique chords, that really bring out the jazzy flare. The bass pad amps up the low end quite a bit, I’d argue and says it’s a bit too much lol. The melody is getting drowned quite a bit with it haha. Is that a shepherds tone? Wow this really feels like we’re getting taken in a UFO. Everything is slowly creeping like a möbius loop. Soon we reach the climax. The idea is extremely creative, I need to get me in on something like this. Maybe that’s why the melody is quiet on purpose. Honestly this is just amazing, it’s a unique idea, with a really great buildup. I love how well executed this is, for a unconventional musical technique. This is amazing, enough for the 2nd spot, incredible work!

Coloradoweeks - More jazzy chords, les goo! That’s one hell of a kick, really amps up the 80s flair. This is one hell of a chord progression. Singing is incredible as always, this is super fun. The harmonising parts are also incredible. Wooow. That is probably your strongest singing performance ever, woooo! Ending is abrupt, but I don’t care, it was enough for the top spot, incredible work!

NickC - You guys are really pulling all of the stops with these cool chords. Really liking the slow fade in and out, makes it kind of cold and isolated. Melody is pretty calming and almost uplifting. Really fits the happy utopia vibe of the image. It’s always great to hear thirds, can’t go wrong with them. The chord changes in this are also insane, you guys and your craziest chords. The music box vibes in the 2nd half was a lovely touch, I’m love with this one. I wouldn’t have used that lead synth in all honesty, a bit out of sorts, but I still loved this, a lot of amazing chord changes, it was enough for the third spot, amazing work!

Top 3 - Coloradoweeks, Misael.K, NickC.
