  1. elbobbo: I really liked the overall funky danceness of this
  2. handknit: I enjoyed most the guitar being all kind of noodly and reflective. Good reverby space tone
  3. DarkShadow: Really liked the sound and melody of your lead

But really everyone had a cool song today and did something interesting and unique and fun to listen to.

@Misael.K - Or maybe Arcana's entry was extremely short lol.

@CotMM - SynthMaster Player is just such a good synth right?

@Misael.K - The GIF actually fits the music lol.

@Arcana - Stay tuned for next Compo when i continue into Part 2 of this piece!

@Everyone - Thanks for the kind words! I get it's Thanksgiving so everyone isn't participating this week, hence the low turnout.

Now then...

TheVideoGamer - This is part one of a series of tunes i'll be making all relating to Christmas. It's essentially a Christmas suite which obviously will come in parts. At the end of it, i will have a complete piece of music from start to finish, that more or less fits together. It isn't an album, but a track that starts in one compo, and get's finished in another if you get me. In this part, i'm essentially taking a 16 bar chord progression and essentially taking it through different ideas. We start with an atmospheric part, consisting of a piano and some key like synths, followed by some light pad chords, a bassline, then more pad chords until we have a slightly thick texture. The next idea is adding a beat to it, to make it more faster and groovy. It's just a breakbeat, with a bit of distortion on it. The last idea is when everything stops (Minus the reverb effects), and we have the same chord progression an octave lower, but with a slower beat (Skull Snaps break for the win!). This is where we slowly transform into the fade out. All in all, hope you like it and stay tuned for part 2!

Lyra_183 - Great singing! This would go great on a beat, good job!

cotmm68030 - Ahh soo relaxing and peaceful XD. This takes me right into the sounds of Merzbow's Pulse Demon. Not a minute goes by where we hear anything less than loud. Now even if it's noise music, it's actually pretty well mixed. It's not ear rape kind of loud, but rather you're playing with texture and timbre. Fascinating and cool. The way you turn simple sound sources into complex granular stuff is also commendable. For my honest opinion, i'm torn on this. On the one hand, the sound design is killer, and you did manage to make loud noise music with some degree of musicality involved. It's not loud for the sake of loud. But i do feel there is an upper limit to how long you can sustain a drone for, before it get's a bit on the annoying side. I'm guilty of this, that's why i try and say this with a pinch of salt. I also factor in, that i won't really be listening to this every day. Like i don't consider this listening music as such, but more something to appreciate. At this point in time, whilst opinions can change, i'm gonna give you this one. It was enough for the 2nd spot. Well done!

DarkShadow - Is Synthesizer an instrument? Yes DarkShadow, Synthesizer is an instrument. I must say that is a pretty dope melody, even in the wall of filters and time signature craziness. Good job!

DDRKirby(ISQ) - Normally on any given day this wouldn't be voted on, because i pick music made during compo with the theme in mind, however in this case it's a free round, with no restrictions, so i will give this the benefit of the doubt and i will vote if needed. Now the composition was pretty great, i did get the impression of a Castlevania type shop where i am to purchase goods using coins. You captured the NES sound here, but with a nice modern production approach to it. 30 seconds is a short time, and the 2nd half is a copy paste thing (Because it's VGM after all), so i don't think i can really give you this, as i didn't get enough music to digest with, but it was lovely however, good job!

elbobbo_music - Happy Thanksgiving to you! I made mine a Christmas tune lol. I love the syncopation on the beats, and the cool piano licks in this. The melody in this is also really nice. I do think it's a little simple personally. I would add some more pad chords, and a little variation on the drums, as it's mostly kick and snare. Like it has a lot of potential here. It still sounds really nice though, lovely melody. Good job! Despite the good job, i ended up putting this in the 3rd spot.

Handknit - Every track i hear from you always seem like it's a guitar jam or something lol. The syncopations in this are super funky, i like that a lot. You do seem to stick to the same chord in this. Towards the 2nd half we do build things up, making it less than one chord, but the lack of direction in the melody, makes things a bit weird. That's the one thing i sadly don't get with your tracks. I find them a bit weird and too experimental. I have a limit to how experimental i like my tracks lol. The ending felt sudden too, i didn't get any closure. So while taste is personal to some, i didn't feel this one, sorry. Good job though!

Misael.K - Channelling your inner TVG eh? I was gonna say this screams more of an Arcana type beat, but listening again i do see the similarities lol. I do get why though, as it has the distinctive augmented chord in it. The melody is pretty vibrant and cute, i love the way it sits in the mix. The drums are quite intense, and i think it works in this style. I think there's 2 kicks in this, which can make it a tad bit boomy, but i think this is more of a nitpick. It's a uplifting piece, with great chords, and a lovely melody. Closer to my style than i thought lol. I picked you for the top spot. Awesome work!

Arcana - It seems you had very little time. Oh well glad you entered! I can tell, because the waveform is extremely quiet, you left a long tail, and the production is a lot more simple, than your normal productions. I still liked it though, great effort, good job!

JH Sounds - You're like 2 hours late almost lol. I mean submitting this late, almost makes it closer to sharing than it makes it to submitting, but i'll give it the benefit of the doubt, since one, it was submitted in the OHC channel, just after Compo ended, but also this is such a short party, i don't see why not. I like the drums in this, it's got a nice mix of pop and rap for some reason. Chords are pretty great. Lyric writing is a lot of fun. Well done!

Top 3 - Misael.K, cotmm68030, elbobbo_music.

Although i've only listed cotmm68030 and Misael.K as tracks in the awesome category, i do need to give 3 votes, and i felt elbobbo_music was the best in the Good Job bunch. When more people enter, i have more chance of awarding more Well Done's to the party, than if i had less. 9 entries gives me less of a scope for voting, as a result of the lack of entries. Oh well, great job people!

Awesome - cotmm68030, Misael.K, JH Sounds.
