great tracks everyone! this was a really solid compo. it was pretty hard to narrow it down to just three, so i took a good long nap before voting and chose the ones that really stuck out.

ethansight: had me jiggling and wiggling in my seat. i'm also a sucker for the slap bass.

nukage: great vocals as always, really hard hitting wubs

Misael.K: dreamy and extremely emotional

@CotMM - I had a pretty frustrating crash which caused me to loose a chunk of work. So my soundtrack would have included a credits theme and a couple of jingles.....

@MCMiag - Why does everyone compare me to Sonic? It's getting a bit overdone now lol

@Misael.K - Except DDRKirby does the soundtrack thing better than i do haha.

@Suzums - My inspiration was FIFA 1993 and Double Dribble, so in a way, this statement is true.

@Sight - Yep lol.

@Meistr - I suppose, except mine has more of a electronic funk to the sound, than a tropical party vibe that i mostly know Mario Party for....

@MCMiag - Sega CD Sports, now that's something i can agree with.

@Arcana - All shades of nostalgia eh?

@Sight - It also reminds me a bit of Daytona.

@MCMiag - "Ain't it Funky?" - James Brown

@Suzums - Thank you :)

@MCMiag - That was also one of my inspirations ;)

@CotMM - Haha! The nostalgia is very overpowering.

@Everyone - Bring on the NBA GIFs lol.

@JH Sounds - lol.

@Meistr - It can fit a variety of sports games ;)

@Misael.K - I don't know, this is only the sound test lol.

@Coloradoweeks - But without all of the spring flowers feel XD

@Sight - Coming to a GameStop near you.....

@Everyone - Thanks for the kind words!

Now then....

TheVideoGamer - Everyone has immediately sussed out that this is a soundtrack. I mean it says it right in the name lol. I had this idea, because i'd never done one for OHC before. I've done it for other compo's, but not this one. Now it was very interesting, because i had to work to a 1:30 time crunch, which is not normally the case when i make OST music, so this was a cool exercise. It was good to use this free round as an opportunity, rather than stick to the same old same old. I deliberately picked a sports game like soundtrack, as these don't usually come with more than 6 songs, each with a run time of about 10-20 minutes. So this allowed me to make all of the appropriate tracks without skimping on quality, or going over the limit. I had planned for more music, but sadly during the making of the in-game music i experienced a really bad crash, so i had to remake a lot of what was missing. As a result, i didn't get time to make the end credits music, or any of the jingles that come with it. So what could have been around 5 minutes of music, only ended up as 3. But i still got it in, and it still sounds really good all things considered. All in all, glad you liked it!

DarkShadow - The king of the laser beats. If it doesn't contain some resonant squarewaves, it's definately not a DarkShadow beat lol. The melodies are getting sooo pushed down by the drums and bass. Good job though!

Lyra_183 - Dam these lyrics are relatable lol. Great singing, would love to see this on a beat. Good job!

cotmm68030 - How can you make a 5 minute entry in 30 minutes. I can't do that without using an already completed old project or time stretching a sample. The mallet sounds are very distinctively metallic. It's one of the rare cases where you make something super warm. Like if it didn't have the drums in the background, i would have thought this was someone new. The melodies are beautiful, kind of emotional. The drums aren't really noticeable, and i find that to be a bit of a problem. The drums should either disappear or really make a statement. However the melody ideas were pretty awesome, and in the long run, they were what swayed me into the awesome category. Well done!

mcmiagblackmanisgod - Oh god lol, not this haha. The drums are tight, that's a compliment right there, and the bassline and chords are also....fire (The melodies are also fire.....). I can't compliment on the.....lyrics....i will not pander myself to MLP. Dammit, the track is fire, but that's the best i'll give it. Oh sod it, i got a laugh more than anything, well done!

Treyt - Welcome new one! Tight arps, really liking that filter. The beat has that nice mix of downtempo and EDM, it's great. Guitar work was unexpected, and really brought it into Metal territories. The switch between each one was surprisingly smooth. It actually works really well. The guitar work is amazing this, feels very really and has a lot of raw power. The mix is also pretty awesome too. It was a ton of fun, enough for me to place you 2nd. Awesome work!

Meistr - Welcome 2nd new guy! This is dank ass future bass vibes. You sound like a cousin of a dude named Nukage, who is a regular in OHC. The dubstep work is in this extremely well mixed. You sound like you've had a lot of experience in your craft. Wish it wasn't so short, i felt you could have made a 3 minute piece out of it. However it was lovely, super into the EDM vibes, well done!

DDRKirby(ISQ) (First Entry) - Looks like we got a 2 part'er. It's as if you split this into 2 beats. I dig the tight mix of Chiptune and Downtempo vibes, your melody work is strong as always. The 80's chord work is also fire as usual, i mean i've yet to hear a bad melody from you lol. Well done!

DDRKirby(ISQ) (Second Entry) - So is this a remix, or a rework or what? It sounds different enough in my view, so i don't know. The first track, was essentially high energy 80's styled Downtempo music. Like it wasn't upbeat, but it still had a lot of intense chordal material. This one is like the opposite. It's very relaxing, and has a lot of smooth guitar and saxophone licks. Now i don't know which i prefer, because they're both good in their own right. It's annoying as well, as they both have a potential to be voted on as well, but i wanna give other entries a chance as well. Out of the 2, i prefer this one, which is what i choose for the 3rd spot. Anyways, awesome work!

Barley - That is some tight bass work in this. It seems you've continued your Eurobeat from last time, into a Electric Guitar based EDM piece. The vocals in this one are bright, which is good, but the beat is a little crushed as result it. I don't know what it is, but it feels hollow. The mix is missing something in the middle. In terms of the overall arrangement, it was very solid, i do appreciate you exploring some synth ideas in this. Good job!

Nukage - Speaking of Nukage lol. These are some cool little reverse chops. The little fill into the beat was perfect. It reminds me of some kind of modern RnB artist, but i don't know which to compare to. I wanna say The Weeknd, but the vocals are formant shifted, which is not really a staple of his sound. I really like the burst of EDM in the 2nd half. It really amps up the energy, and makes it almost perfect for the stage. Seriously good stuff, well done!

DJohn - What's with all the meme's this round lol. Did you just sing over the original beat? I would have thought you would have remade the beat XD. I nearly put this in the Good Job section, because i felt just rapping the song over the beat was a bit...cheap (I'm trying to be polite over here lol), but then you went crazy at the end, i couldn't stop laughing. So that swayed me into the well done category. Well done!

Misael.K - Ooh digging this 3/4 groove. Some seriously smooth 7th like chords. Very jazzy, with a lot of soul. Loving the decay on the sounds too, really makes it hazy and dream like. It also unfortunately makes it a tad bit loud, as a result. It can really get close to clipping. Shame too, because again the melody work is sooo good. The ending is also great as well, it's almost like some live piano performance, mixed in with synths and other oddities. Thought about this, and while it can be a bit loud, the melodies were too good for me to put it into the Good Job category, so well done!

Coloradoweeks - We don't see many entries at 2 minutes or more. This is quite the short party lol. Now you'll have to enlighten me on what The Current is, and why JH Sounds is relevant to that lol. I'm actually out of the loop on this haha. Even for the unusual lyric content, the beat is actually awesome. The beat is tight, the chords and sounds are really lovely. even if it's of the simple variety, the combo of sounds just enhances it, and makes very sweet sounding. Well done!

Arcana - Live piano and singing, woo. Really liking the delay effects on your vocals. It goes super well with the atmospheric feel. Loving the orchestral drums, i get a Hans Zimmer movie esq vibe. Almost perfect for a trailer, minus the lyrics. I don't know if this is deliberate, but there is a lot of cuts in your voice, that seems like you manually edited the voice, because you didn't like some parts. As a result, it causes a lot of unnescary clipping. The backing beat is fire though, so that's a good thing to come out of it. Good job!

JH Sounds - I always like those unexpected chords you pull on me, that makes it more than it seems. Like i think it's gonna be happy, but then you add that one chord, and it really changes the course of the piece. I like the bongo work in this, really makes it more of an easy listening piece. Lyric writing is top notch as always. Well done!

Ethansight - Ooh that is a dank slap bass, it sounds like a soundfont. Loving the Agogo. I get a Prince vibe for some reason. The bass is sadly not realistic, i can hear a bit of chopping. However the chords and melody were very fire, and my god when it all builds up, all my criticisms kind of faded away. The actual melody ideas are just awesome, it has the Ethansight harmony ideas i love. The melody at the end, was just the perfect touch, whole thing is just awesome. In fact i relistened to it, and it went beyond awesome, that melody is just incredible. Incredible work!
