Wow! I'm actually voting this week. First off.

Coloradoweeks: I really enjoyed the vocals in yours!

Ethansight: The progression of the song was awesome. :D

Barley: I don't know why so much stuff reminds me of this but uh. Stardew Valley vibes man. pretty awesome mah dude.

Everyone the main reason I wanted to vote today is because I was going through my really old tracks from around April last year and I noticed how different I sounded. I wanted to say thank you for letting someone so young like me participate in this it has really helped me and I love to do it! Have a great week everyone. <3

@Coloradoweeks - Just generic owl sounds.

@Souperion - Nah lol, that would take too long. I might make music using only bird calls though, so i'd keep an eye out for that.

@Misael.K - Northern Cottage to be exact.

@Ashka - I thought that said fetish then haha!

@Colorado+CotMM - Nope, no gabber this week, only chillout. Don't get any radical ideas lol

@Misael.K - Woah now, i never said i was that advanced XD. It's just a YouTube rip.

@Souperion - Yeeee, we going into relaxing places no one would ever dream of.

@Ashka - Welp, time to scour the chat to see what i've been missing in regards to a "Backup crash"

@Misael.K - I guess modulated chords are now my thing?

@DJohn - Probably my favourite chill track i've made to date.

@Suzums - Anything can be a genre, you just have to believe! lol

@Coloradoweeks - I thought this was just Downtempo? It doesn't sound that new compared to any other chillout track.

@CotMM - lol, kind of accurate. I'm sure slow trance exists though. I believe it's called Psybient? Lots of crazy and cool genres out there.

@Suzums - Were now in the swing zoneee.

@Dex - Lots of people are finding this more experimental for some reason, which is kind of funny to me, as i see it as nothing more than pure Downtempo music.

@NickC - Let's make it happen!

@Ashka - All back to normal now...

@CotMM - Why does everyone keep saying trance, it's not even got a 4 on the floor beat. Do people think gated synths = trance? Am i missing something lol. Does nobody know what Downtempo is?

@Misael.K - The images are mostly responsible for the chillness.

@Arcana - I'd have no problem making an hour's version of that then lol.

@Everyone - Thanks for the kind words!

Now then...

TheVideoGamer - So many people think i've made some new kind of trance music, lol. I mean i do some pretty radical things in my music, but this to me is just a normal bog-standard TVG chillout production. Pure Downtempo in my eyes. There's literally nothing radical in there, just soft beats and relaxing melodies. Seriously i'm laughing at the concept of me inventing a new genre, when this doesn't even sound that much different than anyone else's track. Anyways, it's predominately rich vibrant pads, arps made on very soft mallets as well as soft beats. I got these from a lo-fi sample pack, but i think it's really just trap drums, as that's kind of the whole setup. There is a bassline, but it's mostly to fill in the lo-end, it's nothing too fancy. In the middle we switchup into some swing, whilst retaining the relaxing groove. All in all, super happy with this one, hope you like it too!

cotmm68030 - Soft spooky sine waves. More fitting in a way to the theme, even if it's a bit of a horror movie vibe. I don't know why i keep associating your music with horror movies, but there we go lol. Loving the piano blend, really slowly builds out the uncertainty. Wind sounds compliment it really well too. It does kind of remind me a little of C418, but then again what doesn't lol. In all seriousness, this one was very spooky, but very fitting, really enjoyed this one a lot, well done!

Lyra_183 - I would love for you to try mixing accapella with musical sounds one day, i think your voice would be perfect for that. Really lovely singing, good job!

DarkShadow - Retro platformer vibessssssss. Far from what i consider fitting to the theme, but surprising melodic for your typical manic style, not much dissonance at all. Good job!

Souperion - Woodwinds eh? That actually works super well for the image. Like a lot more than i thought, to the point where i'd say it's among the most theme accurate of the bunch. The melodies are lovely in this, you've utilized the winds potential perfectly. It sounds like a mix of Medieval RPG and Ancient Japan, it's very much got that early vibe. The winds can get a little distorted, if you don't pay attention to the levels, and personally i would add a bit more reverb to soften it, however though, after thinking, the melodies won me over in the end, so well done!

Barley - Lots of cool delay effects on the guitar, really makes it feel trippy. I'm a big fan of the tones in this one, very chill but also very groovy. It's almost surprisingly not in your face, it's got some great balance in the mix. Now sadly i feel like there isn't much development going on. You set up this great idea, but you don't really expand upon it, you kind of just let it run for 2 minutes. I don't hate it, but i do feel we need a little more, maybe add more stuff who knows. Good job though!

Shael_Riley - Nice to see you return, it's been a while. Nice tight beat and.....weird.....vocals. I was digging the beat then...you went weird on me. I can't tell if you trolling, but er....good job.

DDRKirby(ISQ) - It seems you've interpreted the image as a late night party, but outside of the venue (Hence the door open and lights on). I can mess with that, especially since it's given you chance to make an absolutely killer groove. The melodies are awesome and tight, and that saxophone is just...woow. I know you make very polished pieces, but this is really something. Sooooo funky, and the way all the melodies interconnect is just amazing. If there were more than 3 options, this would be on it straight away. This is beautiful stuff, amazing work!

Nukage - I'm struggling to come up with words, it's just awesome Nukage dubs and wubs, but suprisingly with a more hollow centre, which seems intentional to me. The intro is very cinematic/rock like but with a lot of dark chords. Would love for this to be 4 minutes, not 1:42, it's too short. Well done though!

Coloradoweeks - Ooh tropical influences. I feel a hint of reggae coming through in this one. Loving the sweet jazzy chords, and interesting swing. Vocal work is fantastic as always. Your chord choices are soo fascinating and cool. Nothing really bad to say, awesome work!

Dex - Now that is some rock music. Feels like Southern Country for some reason, like some Luke Bryant kind of beat, but with more of a hard rock edge. The melody work is setting itself up for something kind of sad, it's great. Way too energetic for the theme personally, but really tight melodies, well done!

Ashka - 6:04!? Are you messing with me now? 6 WHOLE MINUTES OF ASHKA AWESOMNESS!? MY GOD LES GOOO. Your music is incredible, but when you make it 6 minutes? Your just spoiling me at this point. It's clearly obvious i love your music, but i don't love it purely out of bias, IT'S THE FACT EVERY TRACK YOU'VE MADE HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF A TEN AND I DON'T KNOW WHY. WHY ARE YOU JUST SOO GOOD!? The chords and melodies are just....fantastic....just...amazing. The beats are smooth and techno-like. It went by so fast, i felt it wasn't long enough. You know what, forget it, you know what's gonna happen next.

NickC - The 2nd track besides mine, that's uplifting and relaxing. Yeah i know we have a lot of calm/ambient tracks in this one, but they're not really uplifting as such. This is actually beautiful, the intro is very much some soft RPG like vibes, but then it switches into an Air type beat, but without the drums. Loving the synth, really adds a touch of experimentation to the whole thing, it's great. The whole thing is extremely beautiful and makes perfect use of only 2 chords, especially in a way that's not repetitive. Long story short, amazing work!

DJohn - Thuckit Thursday? I mean you did say anything goes lol. I'm not familiar with the language, it sounds very much like Afrikaans, or some South African Dutch variant. I'm not Dutch, so i'm ignorant to not recognise the lyrics, so i may need a translation. I only know a fair bit of Spanish, and a little French. The melodies are beautiful though, very much sounds like Orchestral Pop or something, it's very cinematic and emotional, and kind of beautiful. Awesome work!

obScene - You made this in 5 minutes!? Bro i don't believe you, i would never make this in 5 minutes. This would take 20 minutes for me. I seriously cannot believe this is 5 minutes, it's awesome. Like it's actually beautiful, and the 3rd of the bunch so far to be uplifting (Aka kind of happy). I'm struggling to see how this was made in 5 minutes, it's way too good for 5 minutes. In fact not it's way too good to even be made in 20 minutes. The piano was just incredible. I don't care if it's made in 5 minutes, it's going on the list. Incredible work!

Ethansight - More chill vibes. Loving them unique spicy chords. It almost feels like there's a little suspense in the feeling, but still a little heroic. Sounds like were going for a DDRKirby type beat, but with a little of that Ethansight sheen. Bassline is a tad bit intense for my liking, i feel it drowns out a bit of the beat, which is already perfectly mixed. Besides that, i couldn't find anything else wrong with it, it was lovely. Well done!

Arcana - Live eurorack again, les gooo. This is more of an experimental beat of yours, that what normally i would hear from you. Like it's less detuned techno, and more spacious noises. I don't know what key your vocals are in, but they do not sound in tune with the piece. I'm also hearing some clipping in the beats, is that intentional, because i don't think it is. Idea was great on paper, but it's not really my cup of tea sorry. Good job though!

JH Sounds - I'd read that your beats were recorded live, not programmed using Smart Drummer. Really cool considering they sound perfectly in sync (Yes quantisation is a thing, i'm aware lol). The one thing i love in your pieces, is the abundance of unexpected chord changes. It's like "Ooh i wasn't expect you to resolve to that chord" kind of feeling. Lyric writing is top notch, a ton of fun. Well done!

Misael.K - 60 minutes in, and your like "Nope, scrap that" lol. So for 20 minutes, you made this? Because i'm kind of annoyed that you guys can make awesome beats, in such a short period of time. Like if i have 20 minutes left, i would just go to an old project an upload that, not make a fire ass beat FROM SCRATCH. You guys are soo good. The melodies in this one are extremely fire, even if live. The extremely intense basslines do more than you think, if anything it works to the benefit. Seriously awesome stuff, well done!

Starla - Starla being last is not something you see everyday lol. So many of you guys are known for some seriously unique chord progressions that can only be described by it's respective username. Like these are spicy Starla chords, that honestly just work soo well. Singing and grooves are amazing as usual. I've never once heard you sing badly, you always sing incredibly. awesome voice. The beats scream old-school hip hop, the thing is just super funky. Awesome work!

InvisibleObserver - Your like 3 hours late bro lol. Like it's not even 2 minutes late, it's almost like 3 hours late. I'll still listen to it, give you the benefit of the doubt, but it would be nice if you made it on time, then i might even vote for you lol. Lots of cool atmospheric chords, continuing the theme of chill for this compo. I love the tight live drum loops, mixed with the random electronic beats. The kick at the start of each loop is intentional? Because i don't hear a 4 on the floor kick pattern. It's like you accidently added something in your pattern editor lol. The chords and melodies are lovely in this, and the growls were surprisingly not in the way. Honestly if this was submitted on time, i would write this as a potential to be voted on, it was soo good! Awesome work!
