@Souperion - Oh it didn't read the whole title lol
@Arcana - It's as close as you'll get to live lol. It's what i can do especially in 2am.
@Souperion - I AM THE GOD OF CLICKING RECORD
@Suzums - Acid synths should be in everyone's library lol
@Arcana - You do it miles better than me haha.
@Tetsu - UNTZ, UNTZ, UNTZ, UNTZ.
@Souperions - ALL THE KICKSSSS
@Arcana - You record the sound of your room. I just record directly in my DAW. So the reverb addition is merely a unintentional difference.
@Misael.K - First time i've gone unscripted. Usually i have a structure and arrangement. This time it's all live.
@Souperion - Nothing but loud kicks from here on.
@Tetsu - MAX OUT THE DAWWWWW
@Misael.K - FASTER, HARDER lol.
@Arcana - TVG might do this again, but with something less repetitive. I can't screen record yet, not will i be using equipment, but i could try for something like this in the future.
@InvisibleObserver - There's an emoji for everything these days lol.
@Souperion - I didn't know that was Terry Crews lol.
@Suzums - Gotta get that ambient in lol.
@Tetsu - Slowly but surely making it more relaxing.
@Coloradoweeks - Possibly haha.
@Misael.K - Or maybe it's more likely to be ambient ;)
@Arcana - Lol wut?
@Arcana - Thanks for the honest feedback! If i were to do this again, i'd probably try somethings differently, and maybe go for a less repetitive genre.
@Everyone - Thanks for the kind words!
Now then....
TheVideoGamer - My description honestly, tells you what needs to be said. It's pretty much an unstructured piece where i simply hit record in my DAW. I was working to a single region, beginning with a pre-programmed hi-hat loop and working from there. Through this one region, i was tweaking sounds, adding drum parts, taking away, whilst simultaneously introducing melody ideas, all which were pre-programmed, so i didn't have to worry about wasting time. It also helped, with a smooth recording. I set a timer on my phone, and when it was done that's when the piece was done. The track was done in 1 take, but i did have to re-record just because i screwed up the first few attempts. In the end, it sounds like a fun idea, although it can be a little repetitive, but that's because i was just adding stuff in real-time to the best of my ability. Also not the most accurate, in terms of actual live performing, however it was different, so i'll give it that. I'm just glad you guys got something out of it to be honest.
Lyra_183 - The lyrics sound familiar lol. Maybe it might be what i've listened to. This is pretty much the statistics on vaccines lol. Very informative. Nice acapella, good job!
Wassup Thunder - Old projects for the win! This is a very nice synthetic number, that kind of bridges itself between horror music, and kind of sci-fi action. Kind of spooky melodies, but with a lot of cool sound design. Feels like it belongs to industrial music, really hard hitting and gritty. I really like the impacts you have going on, it really makes it more suitable for something series and dark. It also has some cool elements of techno and synthwave. It's a really lovely idea, nothing to fault here, well done!
Souperion - Science stuff will likely mean, a lot of synthetic stuff. Really digging the techno influences here, very much also feels 80's inspired. The main melody is a tad bit loud in my opinion (I'd probably change the synth sound if it was me as well), but the rest of the stuff was very pleasant to the ears. The pad chords was a lovely change, really adds a touch of that metallic atmosphere to the whole party. Besides the unfortunately loud melody, everything else was lovely and gritty, kind of shares similarities to the previous entry. Good job!
DarkShadow - CHIPPPPPPSSSSS. Really digging the melodies in this one, has that classic SHUMP styled OST feel to the party. Definately a strong one from you, well done!
Koekepan - All the synths, this is going to be one electronic hell of a ride lol. Really tasty delay action going on here, super lovely effects, very mechanical and suitable for a science lab. Very much a science fiction like piece. Really loving the fade ins and outs, as well the modulations. The sound patches you have, really compliment the track well. The kick drum addition, even changes the time signature. I thought it was pure 4/4, then the kick makes it sound like it's 3/4, love the slow building nature of the piece. Won't go on further, could listen to this for 10 minutes, it's a lovely idea, well done!
obScene - My condolences :( It's sad you have to go through with this, sending well wishes. The heart monitor effect, really got me in the feels :'( The piano and guitar work really was lovely. The whole thing has a uplifting afterlife feel, like it's all gonna be ok, which i hope so, we all need it. It's a extremely beautiful piece, with a super nice melody and chord progression. Was tough deciding between you and DDR, however i went with yours because it felt fitting to the theme more, and yours had a really sad but sentimental feel to the whole thing. Incredible stuff!
Tetsu - Second entry less goo. Really nice chord progression here, great string work. Feels also hopeful and adventurous. Really liking the melody here a lot, really goes well with the strings. Kind of liking the developments, really goes for a stripped back approach. You managed to make 2 chords really go somewhere, this is a lovely idea. Well done!
NickC - It's intentionally cute, but at the same time the sounds can be quiet sharp. I don't know if this is an intentional juxtaposition, but it's kind of different to say the least, and personally i'm not sure if i'm a fan. For one thing it's super groovy, and the melody is very catchy, and i was kind of hoping if that would outweigh the negatives, however i'm afraid it doesn't i'm sorry. Good job though!
DDRKirby(ISQ) - DDR going lo-fi oooh. Really loving the warp effect on the synth, really makes it feel like it came directly from tape. Chords are beautiful and chill, it almost makes science research very sleepy (Apart from the unexpected high energy second half, that i wasn't prepared for, but i am all in favour for). In terms of fitting to the theme, for me it's way off lol. In terms of a stand alone track, this is gorgeous. The pad sounds were lovely as always, and your mixes are always soo tight. The unexpected chord changes also got me. This is just beautiful, it was hard deciding between you and obScene, and i ended up with obScene for the top spot, however that does not mean yours isn't awesome, because it was pretty incredible stuff. Incredible work!
Misael.K - Loving the deep pad, it sounds like a synth cello, but yet it's not. This has some mystical elements to it, really makes you wanna put your head down and conduct some experiments. Loving the chords changes a lot, i really don't know where the chord is gonna go, you surprise me with a lot of melody ideas lol. The melodies were super fire, and the way you transition to each chord is also lovely. Maybe it could do with a slight bit of polish, however the idea was pretty awesome, so i will definately give you this one. Awesome work!
Arcana - You do the live recordings miles better than me lol. I think i'll just stick to the studio recordings. Really liking the modular loops here, i honestly think a theme like this, is perfect for you kind of music. Your vocals are also very nicely mixed in this as well, not too loud, not too quiet. I mean they could be blended more, however in terms of levels, it's lovely. I sadly have a hard time understanding what you are saying, because you are layering more than one voice in the same track, so the lyrics are masked by different lyrics if you catch my drift. However i did enjoy this one a lot, good job!
Ethansight - Really ominous intro, sets the mood for some experimenting in the science lab. Love the drop into the chords and arp, really has this balance between heroic and cinematic. I can tell what's an Ethansight chord progression from listening alone lol. The dubstep influences here are super tight, it really makes the science aspect jump out. Maybe bring the chords out a bit more, if you really want this to shine, however as of last hearing it, i loved it, well done!
JH Sounds - Chemical Brothers? That's new from you. Or at least i've not heard a lot of electronic music covers lol. Loving the drums and chords in this, it really makes it hard to believe this is actually the chemical brothers lol. Then again i don't actively listen to these guys, apart from the commercial hits, and a few underground songs. You sing this super well, really nice production, well done!
InvisibleObserver - Late entry les goo. Shame you couldn't get the chance to submit, however i know how hard slow renders can be, to stomach lol. Really liking the sound design in this a lot, perfect science stuff, totally feels like this is up your alley the theme. Really loving these chords, totally feels like it belongs to a sci-fi movie. Honestly i loved this one, the chords really make it more than just an array of randomized sounds (Even if that sounds like a good idea). It's also surprisingly well mixed too, definately one of your stronger mixes. Well done!
