@Suzumebachi - This track had been on the system a while, because i was struggling with this theme, and this idea of Prelude and Fugue had popped into my head. Shostakovich was a good one, because i like his use of both consonance and dissonance either as separate entities, or on the same piece. In this case, we begin with C Major. Now these are piano pieces, so they're not locked to a set groove or tempo, therefore my remixes, are essentially reflecting that, even if i'm trying to make it into my style. The thing is, all the other projects were not doing it for me, so i couldn't really waste any time, hence why this was pre-saved. The fugue however, i made that in real-time, so that was like a 30 minute compo. Everything was done using MIDI, because i don't have time to copy every note, i have like an hour lol. Anyways.

@Arcana - The track follows the tempo set by the MIDI, therefore it was all unplanned.

@Dex - It's less weird in the context of the original piece. I've linked to the original in the sharing part of discord for reference. I might even link more classical pieces for those curious.

@Misael.K - Both pieces are in C Major, so there is 99 percent chance it was lol.

@CotMM - To be fair, it wasn't intentional. And honestly, not the first time i've messed around with tempo of this sorts.

@Coloradoweeks - Thanks for the kindness!

@JH Sounds - It's my track, so you don't need to worry. Nothing's wrong with the stream. Everything's all part of the track, done deliberately.

@Arcana - I've covered classical music before, so honestly there's nothing really new here, with exceptions to maybe the rhythm and tempo.

@Heartrob - I kind of looped the rhythm, and let the tempo do the work.

@NickC - Lol, i should do this more often then. It's funny, because this is actually normal by my standards. I've done way more creepier music.

@Misael.K - I like what i've done, but i feel like it was a last resort kind of idea. So it doesn't really feel completely polished.

Now on to the Fugue.

@Nukage - Nope, 184bpm.

@NickC - ALL THE BREAKS.

@Coloradoweeks - I AM THE GOD OF HELLBREAKS.

@Heartrob - I actually don't know what this break is lol, i got it from a sample pack, and chopped it.

@Arcana - The first was a weird Downtempo kind of take on it, with dense electronica grooves. This one is very closer to Hardcore/Drum and Bass. 2 worlds colliding into one.

@Misael.K - It was common for composers to create a Prelude and a Fugue in the same set, back to back. The whole idea was a book, (Of course Bach did it first. His was intending to be a tool, for those learning the piano/keyboard) consisting of 24 Preludes and Fugues, which each follow the 12 keys in an octave, both Major and Minor versions. The prelude is a short piece, hence the name, and is primarily an exercise or study into a particular idea. So these might include motif's, or runs which would last from start to finish. The Fugue is essentially an arrangement of a single melody line, which comes in and out at varying points in the piece. This melody is accompanied by a counterpoint, often the melody itself rearranged. Basically the melodies form together into a sort of chord progression/harmonic movement. Obviously there will be key changes and chord changes, the melody isn't just repeated throughout, it's melded into almost 4 smooth lines (Each working kind of like it's own melody), while still retaining the main motif. I won't explain much, because it's already taking up space, but if you listen to the Well-Tempered Clavier from Bach, you can kind of get an idea of how it all works. You can obviously tell i am a classical music nerd haha.

@Arcana - Einstein is a genius, i'm just a producer who likes to goof around lol.

@Suzums - Haha that would be awesome. Someone should re-arrange all the Bach tunes lol. I'd love to do more of these Shostakovich Prelude and Fugue covers, but some of them can get a bit long. Like 7-8 minutes. And i'm gonna do it, i'm gonna do it in order. So it's not possible, which is sad...

@Nukage - If i have to be real, i just slapped basic drums onto a MIDI file....

@Suzums - Any Fugue with any EDM genre could work lol.

@Atmospherium - Haha, this would be awesome if i was covering Bach. You should write that on your Chopin Liszt.

@CotMM - I've had those moments, where i'm like, this is what i've spent an hour doing. And as much as i want to change it, i can't, so your stuck with whatever i come up with, regardless whether it's good or crap. It's a good break though, i will admit.

@Atmospherium - Oh god, that would be an atrocity.

@Nukage - I mean, that's technically true. It's not something i consider to be outstanding. It was what i was feeling in the moment.

@CotMM - The power of the reverb eh?

@Everyone - Thanks for the kind words!

Now then....

TheVideoGamer - I explained a fair bit about Preludes and Fugues, but essentially this is a cover of Shostakovich. I don't know the exact reason why, but it was a fun idea to try something different. I liked Shostakovich over Bach, because of his interesting choice of melodies, and it's not talked about as much, but both had the same idea. It's very light and elegant, but still features some cool chord changes, especially in the prelude. I won't go into much depth about it all, because i've said enough, in what needs to be said, but it was a different idea. This one was already pre-made, because it was an old track, whilst the Fugue was made in real time. Nothing too special, not my best work, but all in all, glad you liked it.

ThaTaskmasta - And the Prelude is followed by the Fugue. Again, not much to say about this one, the paragraph i did for the prelude, applies here. This was made in 30 minutes, live in the compo. I wasn't really thinking much, because i was running out of both time and ideas, so i had to think fast. This is what i ended up with. In hindsight, i don't think is special, it's a bit simple, and maybe rushed, but i do like the idea. If i were to do this again, i'd maybe take more time to perfect both, but as of now, i'm glad you liked it.

Lyra_183 - More alarm clock goodness. Your voice really seems to blend well in the piano, you really are improving a lot. Good work, keep at it!

DarkShadow - The classic Untz from DarkShadow. This time with a nice crispy snare. Lots of very chromatic notes this time. Not my favourite from you, but very nice work. Good job!

cotmm68030 - Ooh what interesting sound sources plague our ears this time? It sounds like some vocal snippet. As always, you are seriously good at Dark Ambient, you know the genre inside and out. I love the way things build-up in sound and breakdown in sound. It's very creepy sounding (Although i must contest, it get's very weirdly soothing at the end, with the way the chords develop). The whole thing was just really good, well done!

Koekepan - Nice mallet sounds, kind of reminds me of a Music Box. Very short, doesn't last long for me, to make a huge impact. Although the melodies are nice, there's nothing else that's really added, so it feels like it could be turned into something epic. Good job though!

animatrix1490 - Very mysterious melodies. Seems very fitting to the theme. Great strings, kind of brings an orchestral medieval flare to the mix. Great developments. Although if i were to give critique, the double bass is a bit muddy in my opinion, and the strings are ladened with a little too much attack. However though i actually think this is suitable to the theme, and despite maybe the small touches i would add, there's more positives here than negatives. I was struggling to find anything major to critique, so i decided to add you into the awesome category, so this is a well done from me!

DDRKirby(ISQ) - Soothing DDR, is always the best DDR for me. Beautiful melodic ideas, i love the chords a lot, so beautiful. Awesome atmospheric sections, really great production. I can't really say much, it's just what DDR always does, and very well. Awesome work!

kboldskeep - Library waltz lol. Starts of very much like a waltz, then insane reverb transitions us into a demented synth waltz lol. Bassline is quite powerful, and the melody doesn't seem to stand out as the star, because the ambient parts seem to take over, however it was a very nice and unique idea. Good job!

Tree - Detuned piano, wow. Definately sounds like 432, not 440 haha. The chords are soo good, and the melody is really great. Seriously for your first entry, this is...well...amazing. The nice melodic layers, the great unstable almost IDM like beat. Everything just works so well. Lovely work!

Barley - Sweet guitar FX, very nice chorus and delay. Really like how you've locked your self into a style you feel comfortable with. The backing track is unfortunately quiet. I think you have a tendency to mix quiet, or i have a tendency to mix very loud, so that might be why. It's a great flowing piece, i love the guitar solo. The rest just gets lost, and all i hear for the most part is vocals, and lead guitar. The drums especially suffer. Maybe someone else has a different opinion who knows, but it was a nice track. Good job!

Atmospherium - Sweet chords, very dark and horror-like, but also very chromatic driven. It's not dissonant, but it's very unique, and i love it. Great kick sounds, love the bass sounds here a lot, so good. The vocals are awesome as always, you sing soo well. I don't have anything else to say, it's such a good idea, well done!

Dex - Shuffle rock this time. Some very unique chord choices here, it sounds like power chords. Great breakdowns, alternates between intense guitar passages and soft acoustic numbers. Really loving the rhythms here. Long story short this is really good. Well done!

Suzumebachi - Orchestral music, but with that classic Suzumebachi harmony i always love. The way you shift to each chord, even i can't do that, it's soo good, like how. It's just sooo good. Like i love your harmonies sooo much! The ending is just, i can't, it's incredible. Awesome work!

NickC - Guitar and double bass, this is a interesting direction for Nick. Really liking the melody, it's very adventurous. Like it belongs in a kids T.V show, or maybe an RPG. It's very well done. Yeah i'm getting that VGM vibe. It's got some seriously good melody ideas, i love it. Well done!

Coloradoweeks - Lo-Fi for the win. These are some unique chords. Great drums, sounds like found sound, arrangement to rhythms. Awesome lyrical writing, this is sooo good. I could do with a bigger kick, but really i don't want to ignore how good this it, even for a minute. Awesome work!

Starla - Everyone really at it, with these unique chords. Great production, such professional sounding, amazing singing. Awesome chords, lovely grooves, i can't say anything else. Well done!

Misael.K - Always down for a good 7th chord. Can't have a good tune without a good 7th. Great melody here, really goes well with the light beat. The whole thing is very light and elegant, very soothing to the ears, gives me electronic RPG vibes as did Nick's did. The way each melody flows, the atmospheric parts, everything is just soo good, i love it. Soo pretty, soo beautiful, incredible work!

Nukage - This sounds like another Nukage Trap production. It's got that lovely airy synth melody, and the sweet build-ups as usual. As well as that 4:3 polyrhythm sequence. Seriously though, this one is actually really good, it's mixed perfectly, and has such great synth sounds. All in all, well done!

JH Sounds - It's getting hard to tell what's original and what's a cover lol, since you do cover of songs i've never even heard off. The lyric writing is very good, as you do, and the chords are really good in this one. Well done!

Eva - Very short, and kind of spacious, it feels like in some reverbed room, maybe in a old factory or something. The effect is very cool and i like it a lot. It's very short (Barely 40 seconds), and doesn't seem to have a lot of lyrics going on, but the effect was nice. Good job!

Arcana - Alien like vocals, very cool. Lots of great dark spooky parts. I can hear the CotMM samples, it feels like your taking the parts, to use as FX, whilst a nice funky beat goes on top. The drums and bass are very cool, it doesn't sound like dance music, but yet feels like it's going in that style. Great developments on the vocals. Honestly i've yet to find major problems in this one, because even if i do have flaws, i see a justification to why that's the case, and it ends up making the track better than it really is, so i'll give you this one. Well done!

mcmiagblackmanisgod - My Little Pony still going? I didn't expect the fanbase to still be going strong. Funky beat, it's what i'd expect from you. Very repetitive (Even if short), and i'm not s fan of the vocal sample, but it was fun. Good job!

Top 3 - Misael.K, Suzumebachi, DDRKirby(ISQ)

Note: The top 3 really could have gone in any order, and for an extremely long period of time i was having trouble putting all of these in a ranking, so at the time for voting, this is what i was feeling, but it could change any day.
