@Everyone - Ok i was uploading this completely blind, unaware of the reaction i was going to receive. I don't always think sometimes when making music, because of time deadlines, so if something happens to be a little over, or a little too fast/hard, it's more or less because of time restraints, and the difficulty of the theme. I assumed since it was 30 seconds over, people might be forgiving, but i was completely long. If anything, when i finally got a chance to look at the comments, it's sort of turned into outrage. Now i'm a little late on this, done deliberately because i needed time to reflect on this. I think it's starting to become a bad habit on my behalf, so i used this to devise a system. This system implemented in my template, caps everything at 6:00. I've also made some notes, that showcases what lengths the tracks should ideally be at. For OHC the length should be around 5:40 and less. For 90MC the length should be around 4:20 or less, and 2hts is 3:30 or less. This is permanent, and will always be used to help me ensure that it's under 6 minutes. Remember i'm trying to keep it down, but it's not working, so i've using this to force me to be under 6 minutes. With the exception of certain rounds, most times when i go over i don't do it to deliberately to annoy anyone. Sometimes it's because i want the sound to fade out, or because there might be a tail, turning 5:40 into 6:20. The times i went too far, are rounds 653 where i just haphazardly submitted a track without thinking about it. 13 minutes is really taking the mick. I was not in a good place there, i failed on that one.

Now i've also noticed that people seem to think that me not responding means i'm ignorant. Well truth be told, and i have to keep saying this, because i keep getting asked this frequently. I Compo at 2am. That's not a joke, or an excuse. I literally compo at 2am. That's 2-3 hours after people have gone to bed. I live in the UK, which is the centre of the world, while most Americans live on the left side. So that means the average time in the US is like 6 hours behind. So what is 9pm for most American's is 2am for a UK person.

Most would probably think "Why would he stay up this late for compo?". Well if i have to be honest, the feedback here is awesome. Lots of honest, i've learned a lot through these compo's, but also i've actually tried new ideas literally because of a OHC track i've heard. So much inspiration has come here. I joined after a night, i couldn't sleep. It was 1am, there was a time-zone change, and compo was on. Giving it a shot, opened up a world of new ideas, new recommendations. I've even discovered new plugins because of the community. So i always get excited knowing i can learn something new everytime. It's also why i don't miss a compo (With certain exceptions), because everyone is so nice and welcoming, and i feel like i've made a few new friends.

As much as i want to keep on going, i don't think me apologising does anything. All i can do, is stop. If a track goes on for longer than normal, i will fade it out. If i feel a track is too long, but cannot be shortened? I will upload the full version on SoundCloud and the shortened version on this platform. But i shouldn't need to, because i've made it so my DAW caps my project template at 6:00. The least i can do is say sorry, but again that does nothing. So hopefully if things go well, i can submit without problems, and we can remain as a loving community. That's all i've got left to say. The more i talk, the more it gets engrained into my mind, which i don't need. This was the final straw i needed, to finally ensure i can remain under the limit. Anyways, let's try and reply to other comments if i can.

@kboldskeep - Thanks for the support! For all things considered, i do love the work here, even if it wasn't with the best intentions...

@Misael.K - Alas i've done it too many times. If i do i again, i could risk being muted. Besides, i took some time to reflect about it, and i've committed to change. So even though i love the support, it will be the last time.

@Everyone - Also this isn't DnB nor is it meant to be. I was actually going for more of a 80's approach. I feel this is more like a synthwave/synthpop thing. Maybe adding a breakbeat instantly means DnB?

@Misael.K - Sure thing lol.

@Animatrix - You know that actually works. A montage of someone changing their life for the better lol.

@Starla - All my responses happen in voting. This include replies, apologies, comments about anything. I compo at 2am. I vote either the next day, or next week depending on my schedule. Me not showing up is absolutely not me acting in bad faith. It's me literally going to bed....

@Arcana - My apology pretty much outlines my full reflection that i took before voting. It's also why i voted 2 hours before OHC lol, but you are bang on the money. In the UK the time zone remains in the centre. So i have a neutral time, whereas in a country like yours, the time zone would shift by 5-7 hours depending on the state you are in. Hence why i compo at 2am and you guys compo at 7pm-11pm...

@Everyone - I just want you guys to confirm this will be the last entrant that goes over 6 minutes. I've explained it before, but i just want to make sure, so we are on the same page.

@exubeats - Some people have project templates, which saves them about a couple minutes.

@Garian - Fair enough. I think the case with this, i had 4 sections lying around, and i ended up bunching them together, in short notice, not that it helps anything, but i don't think i structured this well. Then again i was the last entrant, a testament to how slow i was.

@Animatrix - I'm surprised you don't know lol. You've not seen it pop up a few times in discussion? XD

@Everyone - Thanks for the kind and honest words. Your feedback really means a lot to me! I'm always learning and improving!

Now then...

TheVideoGamer - I'm not here to talk about the length, just what's in my track. I've already gone far enough with that discussion. The track is built mainly on a 80's aesthetic. Not necessarily pure 80's, but enough to distinguish some elements. I also wanted it to come across as very uplifting and bright, since the images work in that direction. I had 4 sections, with each one being cycled as we progress, but with the main melody returning every now and again to ensure cohesion. Each chord/riff is layered with a couple instruments to ensure a big thick texture, which runs throughout. Each section also comes with it's own set of instruments to keep it interesting. Maybe it could be shorter, listening back now, but i don't think about these things at the time, because i'm always rushing. The drums were designed with kind of a 80's feel, making sure the snare had a tight reverb on it to increase power. Not much left really, i've said what i needed to say. Thanks for listening!

Lyra_183 - Nice interesting sparkly piano. Great processing on the vocals, this is one of your coolest entries i've heard in a while, lovely ideas. Well done!

cotmm68030 - Ooh really nice phasing on the drums. It's like a watery drum kit. The vocals are super fitting, makes for some seriously dark atmosphere. Some of the bell plucks get a bit too loud for me. Also i feel when it reaches the chorus, nothing changes to get exciting. It's the same range. Maybe i'm being too nitpicky, i feel a lot of cool ideas, end up overtaking the critiscms. Your voice is super cool, definitely the highlight. Well done!

DarkShadow - Typical DarkShadow eh lol. I will say, the chord progression here is a mighty juicy one. Not my favourite personally, but i dig the synth bass heavy approach, good job!

Souperion - I like the Souperion Orchestral Rock blend. Very much your signature style, but done beautifully. Personally i feel it's a little too dark for the theme. Yeah there might be a biased towards the major key in the entrants submitted, i'm sorry lol. But i do dig the string melodies a lot, you write such lovely orchestral parts. Drums were very busy, i did feel like i needed a break, in dynamics, but the idea was great. Good job!

Koekepan - Very nice minimalistic ambience, you do a very good job of this. The pad sounds were super vibrant, lots of great dynamic shifts. I also like how it's not on the grid, making it more loosely defined as a result. I really dig the chord changes a lot, just really nicely done. Well done!

animatrix1490 - Really nice textures, definitely a great idea. Can get a little loud in the melody, and the direction is confusing (Plus maybe a lack of a bassline), but the idea is super nice, would love to see this expanded. Good job!

Atmospherium - Look at those arps go lol. I seriously need to know how the hell you are processing your voice. It's soo good, i dig it everytime you use it. Topped with the fact your just an excellent singer, Oof. The backing track is also excellently produced. It's like a hybrid of ambient music, industrial and trap. It's soo haunting and fits your voice perfectly well. Get's a little loud at the end, but it's too well produced to find faults. Awesome work!

Wassup Thunder - Lots of very nice choir action here. Very dark too. Maybe i feel like this is going to be one of the darker compo's lol. I guess i take back what i said about my bias towards the major key lol. Also the chord changes here are super cool. It's amazing ideas. The drums are also working super well. It's very cinematic, film score like i love it. The last half was super climatic, almost like a fight scene. It also get's aggressive too, however it's not as loud as you think, even if it's on the verge. The melody ideas are just too good, well done!

DDRKirby(ISQ) - Hyperrrrr. A Sugar rush for the NES ooh. Eurobeat chiptune? Definitely sounds like it. I really love the melodic writing here, but then again you've never disappointed me with your melodies really. Honestly i'd argue this is among your finest, it's just done so well. Lovely work from start to finish, just excellent work!

Garian - Demented funk and disco? It feels like it lol. I have no clue how to react to this haha. It feels like...incomplete i don't know XD Good job though.

Suzumebachi - Ooh that snare is lovely. That chord progression is also lovely. Ooh that bass is lovely, oooh some many things that come in my ear. Oooh this is incredible. God that guitar solo, this is.....the best Suzumebachi song ever created? Sure sounds like it. Just needs to be longer for this awesomeness. ;-;.

Exubeat - Welcome new guy? I don't think i've seen you around before. Great chord work here, it seems like your playing a synth, the same way you play a piano. Would love to hear this developed, it feels incomplete, with a few timing issues, but the sounds are very nicely done. Good job on your first entry!

Misael.K - Oh wow, what a chord progression. Very 80's inspired, but also very unique. I have no clue if some of it is intentional, the dissonance is obvious, but very intentional. In a way it's calling back to the Giant Steps style of jazz. Maybe i'm not as familiar, but i do like what i'm hearing, the mix and sound selection is super on point. That's enough for me. Well done!

NickC - Very nice piano work here. It's very busy, and at times, very rhythmical unique. The drum and bass parts, really took me by surprise. I've made loud aggressive music, but nothing like this. I don't know what to think of this lol, i'm usually the one to dig this kind of music, but it feels all over the place for me. It's very much a novelty, and a fun one at that. Good job though!

jontopielski - You always make cute ditty's, that end way too quickly. You should try and expanding it, the melodies are soo cool, and lovely. Good job though!

kboldskeep - Man we are getting a lot of tracks barely scraping 2 minutes. This could be the contender for the most entries we've got that go under 2 minutes lol. Very pretty i will say, although there are a few notes that seemed off to me. Like it nonetheless though, good job!

Arcana - Very tight grooves, definitely digging that sound. Weirdly eurodancey. The bass and drums are a bit over the top, the melodic ideas, are struggling to have their voices heard, because of it. Bring the melody up or the drums down to really make it shine. Good job though!

InvisibleObserver - Tight grooves, shame you didn't get to submit. Still nice to check out late entrants though. I dig the chord progression here a lot. The growls are unfortunately a bit too loud, i feel the chords need to come up for the thing to shine. Good job though!

Top 3 - Suzumebachi, DDRKirby(ISQ), Atmospherium.
