CotM68030 got me right where I live. Perfect.

Misael.K was good - no question. I would have put Invisible Observer here but that was a late entry.

Jontopielski was better than I thought at first - there's a lot of potential here.

I pretty much excluded entries with significant percussion on this theme. I think that they're counter to the idea.

Yes: To beats by daisu64 and NickC

But I also liked the pure ambience and that oppressive, dark sound that cotmm68030 brings with his ambient track.

Others that stood out to me:

Absolutely smitten with Cotmm's ambiance this round. Thunder's euro-rock stuff just keeps getting better, and man: Koekepan nailed it with his ambiance this round too.

@Misael.K - Might be a little longer than normal. Hopefully they're not too up in arms about that lol. I mean 6:40 is only a few seconds over right?

@daisu - 7th chords are the best life hack ever invented haha.

@HoboKa - Repetition Legitimizes.

@Souperion - I'd argue that, but it's whether they think that lol.

@HoboKa - I wouldn't be surprised if you think 3 minutes is too long XD

@NickC - I am known for really raising eyebrows over my long lengths haha.

@Misael.K - Give it chance haha, were not even halfway.

@Souperion - I consider this to be very theme accurate. Don't know about others.

@Arcana - It's weirdly aggressive, for it's chillness. Then again, i am known for adding soothing sounds to thick beats.

@NickC - I think the whole track is one big intro to be honest lol. The beats don't come in until the last 2 minutes.

@HoboKa - David Wise would totally rock a DnB album.

@Souperion - It's a synth imitating a guitar, so er...yes.

@HoboKa - Apple music is weird. Never understood it's purpose.

@Koekepan - Bro nearly every week you reach the 10 minute mark lol. You can pull this off no problem.

@Lyra - Girth is circumference. So kind of like measuring a cylinder.

@Koekepan - "Patiently waits for you to dominate 80 percent of chat, with a Koekepan entry" lol.

@Everyone - Is girth really thickness? Results from the interweb show circumference.

@Souperion - Bells, pianos, strings, synth melody. That's pretty much it.

@Starla - lol, Initial D had to pop up at some point.

@Misael.K - That gif sums this track up perfectly.

@Everyone - We can tell by the reactions, that we have arrived at the DnB parts.

@Misael.K - Only a little bit early for me lol.

@Wassup Thunder - FASTER!

@Everyone - Somehow this managed to provoke feelings of Final Fantasy haha.

@HoboKa - Wut?

@Souperion - Both lol

@NickC - I don't understand what your saying. This isn't refined, but it's way too good for one hour? That's like 2 contradicting statements haha.

@Jonto - Repetition Legitimises. That's literally what i do lol. Loop it as much as you can until it reaches 6 minutes.

@NickC - People are more impressed by the length to be honest, than the actual music. They're more astounded by the fact it's 6:40, not because of the music XD.

@Wassup Thunder - I know right? So many unusual comments today.

@Souperion - Bang on the money haha.

@HoboKa - Except mine was completely from scratch...

@Everyone - Thanks for the kind words! Man replying to comments takes up half my voting lol, but there seems to be a lot this week so...

Now then...

TheVideoGamer - I don't need to tell you how much i love images like this, because it allows me to create beautiful, gorgeous ambience like this. Sparkly, colourful, brimming with life. I just love expansive spacious photos like this, i need moar! Anyways, with that in mind, i created a simple arp, and built-upon it to make it very textured. It isn't just a run down, but multiple notes are grouped together to make more closed harmony. It's more so note layering, than simple arps. The rest is made up of, simple background chords, a straight-forward less in your face main melody, and a 303. Towards the end, we have a pause leading to the big fill that drops the whole piece into DnB mode. It's good, because it's a huge dynamic shift, turning the whole piece in a 180 direction. Also it prevents it from being boring. Everything remains the same, because i wanted people to resonate with the chords, and also because i like the consistent flow. All in all, i'd argue it's among my favourites i've done recently. I can't say of all time, because it keeps changing, but as of now i do love this one a lot! Hope you like it too.

ThaTaskmasta - Just wanted to share some good news for this week. Hope you guys are happy and healthy!

Lyra_183 - I have no clue what you are doing here, but it makes me laugh. Funny ideas here lol. Hope you get better! Good job!

DrumJ8 - Dig the chords here, and the unusual DarkShadow time signature change. Would love to hear this expanded, feels too short for me. Good job though!

cotmm68030 - Very dark, almost soothing in a way. I want to say it's accurate to the theme, but i don't usually associate the underwater, with something this dark lol (Well ok, the more i listen, the more it actually works. Maybe the sparseness makes it feel like it's dark. It's sometimes hard to tell when listening to genres like this.) All nitpicky ramblings aside, It's very beautifully done, the space and the phrasing is extremely lovely (As well as the lovely reverb usage). All in all, awesome work!

DarkShadow - Kick and snare abuse right here lol. Waveform is super loud. Loudest DarkShadow entry yet. Good work though!

jontopielski - Welcome new guy! Lovely first entry, that melody is amazing! Excellent synth choice! All we need now is a beat, and something longer than 30 seconds to make it shine. Well done!

Barley - Your not the first to leave the metronome on haha, mistakes happen. Very simplistic ideas, but strangely beautiful, maybe it's the tritone that happens in the riff. Both haunting but soothing. For me this is a bit all over the place. I would have taken the riff from the first half, and improvise a solo melody on top. The second half for me is very squished and has too much distortion on the guitar, muffling the pitch. Good job though, i'm really liking the ideas here!

Koekepan - Very rich pads, i like. I am a fan of pads with big filter sweeps. The bell melody in the background is a lovely touch, really brings it to life. The richness of the pad is really good, it just blends so well. Well done!

Souperion - Lovely strings and guitar combo. I'm starting to get a feel for your style, and it works well. I personally feel this one is a little too heavy for my liking. There is too much going on, that could be mixed a little better. The melodic writing in this one though, is pretty awesome though. It's not so much it's loud, but more so it's a little too busy for what i'm hearing, sorry. Good job though!

animatrix1490 - Funny title there lol. Great idea here, if very unusual. Kind of reminds me of a Sega Genesis game, with the FM used. Good melodies here, even if i feel it could be expanded. Good job!

Nukage - Woah this is heavy, almost Industrial and Cinematic. Not something i would expect from Nukage but i'm all for heavy. The drop goes HAAARD. Definitely top tier production from you. Well done!

Suzumebachi - Great chords, really nice hint of relaxing to it. The melodies are very beautiful, as expected from the master of excellent harmony. The only downer i have, is that it's too...structured? I don't know i was expecting a less is more from this theme, so maybe it's my bias towards the photo. The more i think about that, the more nitpicky i become. Long story short, excellent harmony and melody here, well done!

DDRKirby(ISQ) - A very deep and complex journey. Feels like we are taken for a ride, especially since this is 6 minutes. There is a certain snare sound, that feels out of time with the rest of the drums. I know it's minor, but it was very noticeable for me. The chords and melody is awesome as usual. The arps were also blazingly fast and cool. The tempo/rhythm change is super sudden and also just a lovely way to switch things up. The synthwave part was such a lovely switch-up, it's almost as if it's a remix. The whole journey was incredible man, beautifully done!

Wassup Thunder - Going back into Eurobeat territories are we? If so, it's very nicely done. I do like the drums in this one, it's not the standard rock kit, i'm familiar with. Instead it's more of a techno kind of drum sound. Honestly i really do like the melodies a lot here, however i don't think it's theme accurate. This is way off for how i interpret underwater diving. The melodies are too good though, so i'll give you this one. Well done!

Misael.K - Very pretty arps here. You could say...watery lol. Percussion was nice, very soft and subtle, adds a lot to the track. I feel it's also very minimalistic, which kind of mirrors the theme. The only gripe i have, and this might be me, is that i'm not feeling the bitcrush on the background elements. There are parts where it feels a little...too clustered, but also lacking. I don't know, some people might like it, but i just feel it could be refined into a more spacious expansive palette, with some of the bitcrush toned down. Really liking the idea still, good job though!

daisu64 - Woah these chords are cool. Never heard such interest harmonic choices. Liking the techno here, groovy as hell. I find it a bit loud for my tastes, maybe a bit cluttered too, but i can't argue and say the grooves were not fire, because they were. Maybe polish is what it needs, who knows. I feel the positives outweigh the negatives, the idea was just soo good and groovy. Well done!

NickC - Oof we seem to be getting a fair few EDM bangers this week. Can't stop bopping to this one, the drums are sick. Definitely my cup of tea. The melodies are awesome in this one, so good. Has similar problems to the previous entrant, in that it gets a bit too loud, but again the good outweighs the bad. Lovely chiptune vibes here, well done!

Dex - It's been a while dude. The drumset here sounds quite huge, have you upgraded? You say your out of practice, however for me, i've always dug your rock tunes, and this is one of them. The melodies are fire, and really seem to blend together. Not gonna lie, i was expecting more of a chill beat, than a high-energy rock song from you. I didn't think you would be doing this for this theme. That and i also feel the ending is a bit too sudden (Probably because it's too short), however i do love the melodic ideas here. Good job!

Arcana - Really lovely ambience here, i like how you've decided to really take the theme to heart, the lyrics fit super well. If anything i would say this is your strong suit. I don't know if it's me, but i do like the ides of pure ambience. You could try and make this, without the drums. I feel that could make it more interesting. I don't hate it per-say, it's just to highlight more of the ambience. The harmonisation of your vocals feel super off-putting to me, and weirdly out of key. Maybe it's more on the experimental side, but it could have been done better. The idea is super nice though, this has potential. Good job though!

InvisibleObserver - Wow this has to be the contender for the quietest waveform ever lol. This is super beautiful, and definitely theme accurate. The pauses before each loop of the motif is a lovely touch, great breath of fresh-air to the party. Definitely one of your strongest suits. I'd say among your finest, it's super pretty and theme accurate. You were this close to beating DDRKirby for the top spot. Awesome work!

nukage's in your face aggression made me afraid to not vote it number one.

the video game vibes of the benthic splash zone hit me with a nostalgia i still don't understand

the tender melodies floating to the surface of that small little wave made a place for ucwg. it filled me with determination.
