Misael.K's level of polish on this one was outstanding. It was also a nicely relevant piece.

I didn't want to like Shitbird's, but there's something about the delivery of the beat that I ended up finding very compelling. I'm not sure what it is.

Random-Storykeeper's song definitely reflects a lot of what goes on on Miami Beach, and has some of the sonic feel of the environment as well.

1) "Photons At Night" - Of all the complete pieces, this was the one I enjoyed the most. The bass is really grindy, but you have piano sounding chords and stuff to cut through that and create a nice soundscape. I think the beat carries the atmosphere of the theme overall.

2) "generic boring nightbeach scene of blandness" - sci, I really like this. It really conveys the theme for me as well. I love the contrast between the smooth and buzzy instruments, and of course that bass is great. Lively but heavy. The abrupt ending bumped it down to 2nd though.

3) "OHC 405 Skirmish Alpha" - While there is a warm, island feel to this entry, it's also got a bit of "stealth" to it in the bass. It's probably the entry I could listen to the most; it's easy on the ears. Of course, the bends in that melody are lovely.

Honourable mentions

- "Nice Vice City Titty" - I actually love the melody in this a lot. I'm just not completely sold on the instrument choice here. I felt like it needed something "lighter", especially at the intro, if I can call it that.

- "Neon Man Level... Start!!!" - Those chords with the quivering effect are absolutely amazing. As is the intro overall. I can hear a bit of the Mega Man in there. I guess, really, it came down to thematic relevance and the abrupt ending.

"Neon Bloom" - Some nice development here and there. Very loud overall (but I think that's the point, heh). I love the lead at 2:48.

Shitbird: dat OPN sound! Solid tunes, catchy beats. Wish it was longer.

Random-storykeeper: good use of delays, and good use of bass. A bit short, though!

sci: this has the right feel, hits close to the theme to me. Too short, sadly, and needs some more variation.

awesum: Koekepan, NickC, Patashu, Random-storykeeper, sci, Shitbird.
good: Arcana, dusthillguy, jarski, obScene.

There were some interesting and different interpretations of the theme this compo. I liked Neon Bloom and Big Cock City as well, but the melodies in my votes were my favorite overall.
