Somehow Jarski captured the right level of excitement that one associates with sparklers and other pyrotechnics around parties.

A-zu-ra did a great job on the open air feeling, even though the sound choices seemed less firework or party oriented to me.

Random-storykeeper's offering is a different take on the concept, but a very successful one in its own right. I also like the musical layering in the piece, and the tempo that suggests walking pace.

1) "Sparkling Airs" - Combines piano and synths so well. I just love that opening a ton. The rest is fine, and overall has a bit of that aivi & surasshu feeling to it.

2) "Welcome to my Malibu Party" - I love the weird dreamlike atmosphere and the little panned bits of percussion. That light instrument does wonders for me.

3) "in momento tempora" - All I could think of when I heard the opening notes is Blue (Da Ba Dee) lol. But it progresses through well, even for its short length. Not really thematic, but it's the entry I'm most fond of listening to over and over this round.

----

"freyreweuks" for fourth place. I like the starting notes, but it gets a little too weird for me, and also, doesn't really conclude solidly.

A-zu-ra: it's easy as one, two, three! Great stereo imaging, lovely rhythms and chords. Top notch work as usual.

Arcana: more singing! there's some overly detuned stuff at times, but in general this was good.

Jarski: good tracking! mix was a bit quiet, sadly.

Koekepan: interesting chill style. While the beat was very minimalist, the hats and gentle kicks work very well. This gives a sense of mystery and exploration.

NickC: I really liked everything but the lead here. The second half is very good, and very visceral.

sci: an intriguing jazz jungle entry? I dunno, I only know this was cool as hell, if only a bit too short.

Shitbird: magnificent lounge! some of the playing is too off-beat at times, but it kinda works with the style of the song. Great job! It's very different, but the chords reminded me of the trip song (that Ken Silverman's Labyrinth song, "PREPSONG.kdm").

Suzumebachi: lovely tune! a heartwarming piano entry.
