This week was a bit weaker than most, I think - not because the music was bad, but because stylistic choices seemed to be of limited relevance to the theme. Solar eclipses and cloudscapes just don't suggest pounding beats to me at all.

Still, the top three had a lot to recommend them. On theme, and attractively produced. Well done!

My first and second choices were really close. I ended up going with "Glowing Light" as first because of the beat and memorable continuum. "The Edges of the Shadow" has a really nice consistency; everything flows really well, even when it changes idea. Melodywise it may not be memorable, but the atmosphere evoked from it is.

Lastly I voted for "MUTED SUN" because I enjoyed the rap, the altering of voices and the accompaniment is also neat and uncanny.

It seems that last week I had my votes already selected, and written a small text with them. I even explained that last week I wouldn't be available for OHC because I had a flight. But then I forgot to hit "Submit Vote". I'm a moron... although I was leaving in a couple hours, so there's that.


In other news! This week was very good!

DDRKirbyISQ: the chorus is incredible. Excellent melodies all around.
IonicSounds: at times, this sounds kinda like me. Nice use of textures with the beat, what with the progressive introduction of musical elements. Good job!
johnfn: a somewhat famicom-like entry, very simple yet effective.
Koekepan: my favorite! space is definitely your jam.
Shitbird: solid chugs with a lot of punch. But this sounds like it's the first part to a longer song.
Suzumebachi: this tells a tale of adventure and excitement. I love the different timbres and how the song flows. Great job.
Takeshi64: short but sweet! I'm getting a lot of space vibes from this.
